I concur with you. I have the One Plus Open and the ZFold5. I use the One Plus Open as my primary phone. It is a great phone, and I like it better than my Zfold 5. The marketing for Oneplus is horrible, not getting the information out in more ads or commercials. They don't have these phones with US carriers, so you can't test them out and compare them against others. I took a chance on ordering one and loved it right from the beginning: opening the package and seeing a charging brick 67-watt plus the wire and a cover for the back-they hit on the nail from the package to the phone. Samsung should take notes for the Z6.

They need to open some shops in the US. After the Open came out, they opened some pop up shops in various cities. Guess they wanted to get a feel for the market. I have never seen anyone else with a OnePlus device either

The whole reason why you see more Samsung foldables is due to carrier trade in deals. They are so good and drag the overall cost of a phone down significantly. OnePlus only just started to do trade in deals, but there are no longer with any major carriers. In the USA, the vast majority of the public purchases phones through carriers. It's going to be interesting as to how OnePlus will navigate the USA market now.
Pretty easy to answer, people arent comfortable spending a grip on a phone maker they probably never heard of.
The fact that they have never heard of OnePlus says they are satisfied with probably whatever company they have been with, iPhone or Samsung...
It a nice device. I'm just in love with my pixel fold. Love the aspect ratio and the size overall. I have a z fold 5 and I have put it down for my pixel fold.

It's crazy because here in San Diego over the last few years I've only seen folding devices in public probably less than five times. I literally never see them.
I think OnePlus Fold and OnePlus 12 aren't in mode hands because they aren't being sold at the big 3 carriers. People generally only buy a phone if it's in the store of the big 3 carriers. I am super impressed with my OnePlus 12 for the price. 512gb of storage and 16gb of ram for less then $800 after tax! I paid in full but most can't do that. Without the big 3 carriers people won't see the OnePlus phones and won't purchase even though they are amazing devices.
But the crazy part is they have trade-ins just like Samsung where you get up to 1000 off with trade in making the phone really only 600 to 700 dollars

In the UK theres no long term finance options for oneplus, the best I can see is paypal credit over 4 months.
Over on the Samsung website paypal credit offers 36 months, both are interest free.
Its enough to sway me to the Samsung lineup.
I think at this point wait and see what the fold 6 offers.

I tried it but sent it back and kept my pixel fold, and my reasoning was the design for me was just better on the pixel fold, the smaller outer display is just the sweet spot for me and gives me that great small phone feel but wait there's more when you open it up and it has that great landscape mode and i can set my screen at basically any degree that i want it to be in without it snapping open, and at this stage i have to have wireless charging on my daily drivers with all my magsafe compatible cases and chargers that i have in my car or at work or home, there is just nothing like having a back up way to charge your device besides the type c port.
This is my first dive on the foldable market, and the O+O thus far is absolutely awesome. I really love this device. Great camera great for gaming and multi tasking. Not at all perfect but hopefully some updates will improve the overall experience and that it ages well. JC
The reason why oneplus can sell at a lower price point is due to them not nationally advertising. It's the ying and the yang.
I bought this as my daily driver to replace my LGV60 dual screen (which I also still have). It's shocking everyone who sees me using it .
I've only seen the commercials only on RUclips on the Oneplus channel. OnePlus needs to do two things: American TV advertising and carrier sales. No exceptional phones are on carriers... It's always the same old iPhone/Samsung/Motorola... Maybe Nothing phone and then some terrible C class no name budget phones.
Overall? This kills the Z Fold 5 and Pixel Fold.

I ordered my OnePlus Open on the 29th of November and I traded in my OnePlus 11 and got $680 in trading credit which turn the price of my Open into $930. I did order it on the OnePlus website. And yes I'm watching your video all my OnePlus Open!

Hey J, have you seen with the OnePlus Open where if you have the display setting set to small and then you use the phone in open tablet mode for a lil while then close it, it automatically switches to standard for the display size? That's been happening to me and it can be annoying so wondered if you have seen this or heard about it doing this yet? Seems like a bug possibly.
The carrier partnerships are what they should have stayed with, think you mentioned 8t in an earlier video too bud.

Oneplus knows that the tech people on RUclips will buy it to review and do unboxings. This counts as their marketing. One big problem is the masses just can’t afford $1500-$1800 on a phone that they are not all that familiar with. I plan one getting one I just have to save a little more.
They should’ve went with a carrier most of us get our phones off installments. If you don’t go with a carrier it’s kind of challenging for people to just spend $1800 on the phone.

After watching your last video about the OnePlus Open, and many other reviews I couldn't find much negative about it. So I decided to trade my iPhone 13 Pro Max for the OnePlusOpen. I am loving it. I really like the form factor. Yes, the battery life is unbelievable for me. It is now my daily driver. Just an fyi, I am using the Nova launcher set up like my Pixel 8 Pro and it works great.
What convinced you to switch? What's the fast charging like?
@@therickestpicklerick I always wanted to try a foldable. I really liked the size of the phone while folded. Its basically the size of an iPhone 14 pro. I really like being able to open it and having a big screen. The battery life exceeds my expectations. The fast charging is super fast. All I can tell you is this is my daily driver now and probably will be for awhile. I really love this phone!!
I think with the one plus open I notice it’s limited to only 2 man carries. If I’m correct. I personally have Verizon but I really want this phone. I got to ask . Which one would you buy if you had a choice. One plus open or Samsung 24 Ultra?

@@lboogie-fr8pd I’ll go with the OnePlus open in my opinion s24 ultra only have 12 gb ram compare to 16 gb ram on the one plus open and 2600 peak brightness on the S24 ultra compared to 2800 peak brightness on the OnePlus open

OnePlus may strategically choose to maintain a more niche position in the U.S. market, focusing on offering high quality, value for money products to a specific segment of consumers. This could mean they prioritize community engagement and direct sales over widespread advertising

I want the OnePlus Open. I had to settle for the OnePlus 12. I haven't had a OnePlus since the OnePlus 7. I am really impressed the the OnePlus 12. Why don't more manufactures have an IR blaster.
I really like my oneplus open, but their customer service is horrible. Paid $349 for the insurance. The process is extremely slow and their customer service is not responsive. Took 6 weeks to get my phone back. On that alone I decided to go back to Samsung
It's the market share. Apple and Samsung do a ton of marketing while the media is anti Chinese which scares customers away from One Plus. I'm going back to OnePlus from a pixel 7.

Perhaps, it's because Samsung and Google have a stranglehold on the United States market. Then again, foldable and flippable devices only make up about 7% of the marketplace. Conversely, brands like OnePlus, oppo, vevo and realme who are all under the umbrella of BBK hold a major share of the marketplace in Asia and europe. The OnePlus open is also known as the oppo find and three and is extremely popular in those theaters. Samsung while popular in those arenas don't hold anywhere near the stranglehold that they do here in North america. Still, Samsung has a much bigger financial war chest than they do and will always have the ability to advertise their products two more consumers.

This phone was on my radar and I actually forgot about it.
I've got the s22 ultra exynos version as I'm in England to be honest I really don't know how I've gotten through the 2 years with this horrid lagging piece of shit of a phone so I'm in the market now for new device, I'm swaying from ultra to oneplus 12 to sony xperia 1v and back over until yesterday I came across this oneplus open, I'm so close to choosing this one after watching ton of reviews but the only thing that's putting me of is seeing loads of owners suffering dead pixels on screen more than usual to a folding phone. I think probably I'll end up playing safe and getting the 24 ultra
I've had literally every single flagship from 2023 and the Open blows everything out the water. I bought it in October when it was released and I haven't had any of the issues that people are talking about. The S24 Ultra has its fair share of issues with the display and camera. My friend bought the S24 Ultra and said it was a major disappointment screen wise and camera wasn't as good as his S23 Ultra. I'd stay away from the S24 Ultra if I were you. Either way it's up to you.
