- You could say OnePlus flew me halfway around the world to show me a phone ... but it would be more accurate to say the company brought me to China so I could see what’s inside that phone. Today on MrMobile: an exclusive first look at the hardware inside the OnePlus Open -- and the factory full of machines trying their best to break it!
[ABOUT THIS VIDEO]
This video was produced following an exclusive visit to OnePlus facilities in Shenzhen and Guangdong Province. OnePlus provided travel, lodging and meals for the duration of MrMobile's stay in China.

Much respect for disclosing what you weren't allowed to show as to not "waste our time". Not a lot of RUclipsrs seem to care about this, even doing the opposite with clickbait. It is a breath of fresh air to see someone do this, so thanks so much for doing so!
Water resistant, wide front screen and less crease! Finally a good foldable in the states. I'm all in for it
We've waited too long for serious competition, and I truly hope this is it!
And sadly it will likely have terrible software update support
@@AvalineSky they get 4 years of software updates, same as Samsung
@@eduard6450And none of them will be on time, especially security patches. OnePlus can claim whatever they want, they are unserious and have yet to not spectacularly fail with software support.
@@eduard6450yes, but if my Oneplus 8T is any indication, the phone will get worse with every single update...
one of THE best reviewers who's making money the right way. reminds me of the olden days of tech reviews. very consumer oriented. love it.
MrMobile = GOAT
That's because he is an old school tech reviewer, he is doing that for at least a decade. Before he had this channel. He is amazing, i love every video he makes. And also, he is Iron Man
Michael Fisher doesn't insult your attention span, nor your intelligence
@@utubrGamingtrue, not does he presume what we like or dislike about a phone, he just lays it out as is
I still remember Micheal being one of the only ones using Superzoom telephoto sensors on phones in creative ways(like that clock shot in his Huawei P30 pro review) where rest of the mainstream reviewers(cough cough MKBHD cough cough) simply called it creepy until the iPhonr 15 pro max launched, which suddenly was a value proposition because of the very same lens
With OnePlus hyping up the Open by showing it off early to tech RUclipsrs, I'm getting my hopes high for this foldable. It might be the next great thing from OnePlus after the OnePlus 7 Pro, and I'm ready to witness it.
Great potential
Exciting times 🎶
I'm using the 7 pro still at this very moment. Fully agree.. every oneplus phone since has been boring. I'm finally excited to update now after 4 years!
It all comes down to software. And with OnePlus recently that's not been their strongest point.
I'm still using my OnePlus 7 Pro and it was so worth it.
Maaaan! That's just. Neat. Thanks for giving us "normies" a view into the tech torture world without an having to make a whirlwind trip to the other side of the planet. I of course, like so many others, can't wait for the full review.
More competition in the U.S. is sorely needed.
Wonderful video yet again from the foldable King master storyteller. 😎👍
Mr mobile, Flossy Carter (didn't realize I left him out lol) and Ben's gadget reviews...the only channels you need for reviews in these foldable streets.
Flossy carter?!
@@soundbounce123 ooooh shit...you're right! I'll edit. Thank you!
💯
Seeing all your exclusive interviews and reviewish vids. You're moving up, my friend! Good for you
Eye opening. Really makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into building such products
WOW! Exclusive! Great video! So great that I watched it twice right away!
It's crazy actually seeing those test labs! I've always imagined something similar, but seeing it on video is super nice, and reassuring
These tours are always so cool to see. You witness the amount of work that occurs behind the scenes, imagine all the engineering that goes into the data collection and how to remedy it. They were smart to bring you over, hopefully other companies do it too
These kinds of videos make me respect and appreciate both you and the devices a lot more, this was a delight to watch and super informative :D
Man I love my Surface Duo, but I gotta admit this device in particular has been surprisingly enticing. I hope OnePlus can really pull this foldable off well.
Same here, I need stylus support to switch tho so I'm hoping for that
@@jonathanaguilar710 Ugh, I keep forgetting how tough it would be to live without my Slim Pen. Or an S-Pen. Does OnePlus even have stylus-capable devices on the market right now?
@@Danominator I believe their tablet supports it. I know the OPPO phone that this is rebranded from does have stylus support so I'm hoping they've kept that functionality and not removed it but there's been no mention on it. Thats the only thing that would keep me from purchasing since it's pretty essential for me.
Set your reminders and stay tuned for October 19th!
Oh God the marketing team is here ew
I really enjoy watching your videos, the effort and personal touch you put in to your work is what I love. Thank you MrMobile!
Loved the behind the scene’s and just gettting more and more excited about this foldable!
Another great video as always! Good stuff MrMobile
Excellent review. Looking forward to seeing more. Greetings from Dundalk, Ireland
Awesome. Look forward to hearing your full review.
cant wait for the review love your videos! thanks mike!
Neat video! Love seeing the torture tests. Can't wait for this to release!
So excited about your upcoming review video
Love to see more behind the scenes stuff!
Great video as always
It just makes me feel so much better with the last line of almost every video. @Mr.Mobile. ( about early preview of review and monetary compensations). It just makes the review 100% genuine. Love you Michael.
I absolutely love all these companies jumping into the foldable market. More competition is only great for the consumer. I still get comments from people, either at work, or while I'm out, when I pull out my Z fold. It's amazing how so many people still aren't aware of the foldable market. There is definitely going to be some major growth in the market, and I'm here for it. Great video!
I was so invested I thought this was a two minute video looked down and it was 10mins. Great video as always!
Thanks for the great insight and usual quirky videos. Really interesting and a fantastic watch. Only negative, it was too short!
Love this! OnePlus did a good job organizing and showing the process involved behind the scenes! ❤❤❤
As always Nice work done Mr. Michael 😘😘🙏🙌🙌. Love ur honesty and passion for the Tech products and also for showing the inside world of phone manufacturing of current as well as upcoming devices.
ty for showing us this, very interesting.
Another insightful video, @TheMrMobile is doing awesome!
Software support and warranty is all I'm worried about with the Open. Looks fantastic so far!
Thank you for the teaser - excited! Keep up the good work, stud. #BusinessClass
Really enjoyed this one.
Great review 👍
This looks exciting! Can't wait to see the full review!
Awesome video!!!! 👍👍🙌🙌
This was a really fascinating mini-dive into stress tests, showing the amount of work and R&D that goes into engineering design and IP certification. Those torture machines are quite something.
Wonder why they won’t let you show the camera bump. Speculating aside, it’s very fascinating to see the level of use and abuse they’re putting this device through to ensure durability for a category that has been renowned for fragility. I look forward to seeing everything else this phone will offer once the full review drops. Great video and very nice you got an exclusive!
Because they are probably still trying to bribe the usual leica, hasselblad or zeiss to put their logo on it.
Is it just gonna be rebranded oppo foldable?
@@xhogan89x Bro the phone is coming out in 3 months, it's appearance hasn't been modified in months.
What's funny is if you just google the phone you can see a ton of pictures of the phones camera system, which makes it really silly why he had to put so much effort blurring it.
Because of the import ban in Germany, imposed by the Finnish network supplier Nokia, due to patent infringements
Loved this video! I'm so excited for the Open!! It will probably be my first foldable and second phone from OnePlus.
You're just being sent everywhere these days! Nice job!
Cant wait to see the review!!
Review er saya sejak muda. Tampan. Ber "daging" setiap review nya. Amazing
2:08 Niagara Launcher?? Michael just can't stop being a man of culture! 👑
That was the best video of the one plus open so far. It looks good
Mr. Mobile, thanks for the great review! The fact that oneplus flew you to China tells me that they respect you as one of the top reviewers. Your reviews are always objective n contains all the pertinent info (not a lot of blah blah blah.) Do you know if you will be able to use a stylus on the big screen? Thanks again for the great review n looking forward to your review when the phone comes out.
Amazing video
Awesome video....as always
Excellent video.
Nice! Its good to see how they put their phones through testing. I'm sure many manufacturers do this, or at least outsource it to firms; but I bet there are many others that don't. Just goes to show why OnePlus is so popular, 'cause they test their devices and then make them better.
I seriously can't wait to see these phones here in the US. The more foldables the better!
Hope you're ready😎
Lets Gooooooo...never waited so badly for a phone...My Oneplus 6T needs to be replaced
It'll probably be about 1300-1400 though 😂🤣😂😭
Nice vid. Always am surprised how much torture phones get in testing.
Great Video, watched from my S23 Ultra. Can't wait to see the OnePlus Open come out
As an all in Apple User, I have unfortunately become bored with the lack of foldable options and have looked towards the Pixel Fold and Fold5. This may genuinely be the phone that switches me. I do wonder what software support looks like, as Google’s 7 Year promise, and getting updates super quick, has me looking towards the Pixel Fold 2
It's 4 years, idk if there's an additional year of security updates like a samsing or not either but regardless unlike with ios, old Android versions functionally never stop being supported by apps within reason. Like 5 year old Android versions are still supported on nearly all Android apps and while im less familiar with obsolete ios support ik my mate's 5S had things like Chrome and reddit along with other major apps stop suppirting his phone a single year after it stopped getting new ios versions. Thats insane.
Nice Michael love how they test their phones
Pre order money ready...thanks for the content!
This will probably be my first foldable phone. I already know it's going to have an amazing battery.
My fear is app support.
with oppo on it, dont fear. that will be amazing. so many apps are optimized for foldable now@@vu1cana
@@vu1canawhat would be the difference in app support between this and another foldable? It's releasing in the states so it'll have the same play store and Google suite as any other Android
@@vu1cana wym? OP isn't windows phone....They should have plenty of app support...do you mean update support>?
This is great looking, but I really want a sequel to my OnePlus 7 Pro. Not trying to revert back to selfie cam pinhole.
genuinely excited for a new contender in the folding marker, might force these other companies to start stepping up their game
The EXCLUSIVE line in the intro is THE highlight of this video ❤❤❤
I know you're a veteran and this is no surprise, but you have such a great way of putting videos together like this that keep them both informative and very entertaining. You're my goto for phone reviews!
That's so cool! Honestly Im excited for this phone, if they get the cutter screen to be the right aspect ratio its a done deal
I'm so excited for the new foldable phones era. Love seeing all the competition going on, and how different companies are slowly but surely perfecting foldables compared to the 1st editions that put people off
Great video and very informative! I’ve been looking at foldables for a little bit and I hadn’t run across one that I would feel completely satisfied using as a work phone. This is due to either the cameras not being good enough (Samsung), or the battery life not being good enough (Google). I’m hoping this phone might be the one (couldn’t resist the pun sorry) for me. Either way I look forward to your upcoming review Mr. Mobile.
Love the transparency of your channel in general, but especially on stuff like this. Now I want some Guava juice myself lol. Nice look into it all, and the phone's shaping up nicely. Might be the one i replace my OnePlus 6 (whose battery lasts barely 2 hours of screen on time these days lmao). Unless i get lured by a flip-type phone more, or my OP6 catastrophically fails before i've the money to buy an expensive phone like that lol.
What really gets me excited is the translator you wear
This type of videos is better than any commercial... Thinking about getting one. Depending on the EU availability and pricing of course
Looking forward to the release event and full review 🖖
I love to see behind the scenes like this. Shows just how much goes into making tech products last for years. Ppl love to say how companies cheap out but it's far from the truth
OnePlus is one of the few companies I'm aware of that go through this kind of torture testing. LG was the only other phone company that I knew of that did torture tests like this, hence their Military ratings and phenomenal IP68 ratings on a bunch of their phones. Sadly LG doesn't make phones anymore.
I'm genuinely excited to see foldable catching on. I've been holding onto my Fold3 for a bit now waiting for real camera quality bumps and a slightly wider front screen. A stylus is a must too. Really rounds out the whole package. Maybe Samsung will take note, pun intended, of the competition and make a bigger front display.
Wow. Amazing😮
Thank you Michael....
Thanks for taking us through the Torture test and those apt names :D I am so happy that OnePlus made this exclusive with you, there's no one better to this collab with OPEN... And I hope there are many more such exclusives planned in future. Stay Mobile
This one plus open is made perfectly,,,same size as normal phones and the in screen is just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You've quickly become my favorite tech youtuber. I enjoy Marques Brownlee and MrWhoseTheboss's videos, but yours and Flossy Carter's opinions I hold in high esteen in regards to tech
most underrated tech youtuber he always has a different perspective from the herd even the biggest tech and OG creators watch him.
Always wanted an OnePlus. I love the Hasselblad XPan shots.
Got no plans for a foldable but really enjoy Michael's very well-presented videos.
If you keep on watching his content, you'll find yourself on the flip side.
09:42 That spread looks SO good.
Exclusive sneak peeks and in-person interviews are very nice to see upgrades to your consistently top-notch content! Does this mean a Mr. Mobile podcast is on the horizon?
Living in the future podcast. Search for.
Love this phone! Great battery life, grest front screen, beautiful inner screen, thin, lightweight and a very solid camera
Ive returned every foldable ive ever bought within a couple days. Ive had this one for a month and love it. It has kept me away from my pixel 8 pro and 15 pro
I love how you disclose your sponsorships and earnings at the end of your videos. It's a rare level of transparency in tech reviews, and it's why always wait for your videos to get the truth about products. I've been watching you since your PocketNow days, and you've always been the best.
I've been aching for a foldable for close to 3 years but since I heard the rumor of one plus doing one I hold my horses and by what it seems it's gonna be worth it. My one plus 7pro died a few months after years from the release, a truly apex flagship killer.
Well done showing that much restraint when talking about the numbers of parts in the hinge 😅
I am already subscribed to JerryRigEverything. This makes me want to turn on the notifications, so I don't miss when he tests this.
The battle will be epic, or an epic fail for those machines.
Ur style and suave hairdo always impresses me. I can never get my hair that great 😂
Watching from my 8t one plus that still flawlessly running strong
Might be the first oneplus phone I buy. It just looks great
I think you've made Jerry @jerryrigeverything jealous with this tour.
Loved this video.
I've been using an LG Wing ever since it came out, but this is the first foldable to REALLY entice me with these durability features
I'm so glad they let Captain Two-Phones see it. My favorite reviewer by far.
Can't friking wait!
Honestly this phone has me looking at one plus again after a long time i cant wait to see more especially that price tag
I worked in Nanshan, Shenzhen for a year, loved it from the bottom of my heart
Appropriate material for spooky month! I honestly find it hard to watch some of this. It's been a while since I've used a OnePlus device, but I really loved some of their early models, and I could certainly be convinced to go back!
cool insight
Can't wait for this phone, looks killer !
This is the best channel for foldable phones
Amazing video, is this coming to the UK?
Yes.
