    And if I remember correctly, Winning doesn't sponsor athletes. As such, when you see some champion using their gloves, they're doing so because that's what they chose--and paid for--for themselves.

    The only real issue I found with Winning gloves is how hard/impossible it became to use any other brand once I used them. I have owned from grant to Reyes and everything in between. Nothing performs and protects like Winning. Although I will say that for me the average shock absorption life span of these gloves has consistently been no longer than 1.5 years. They loosen up pretty quick when used 3-4 times a week and the pain starts to set in lol. Great video as always brotha!

    • @nomathic7672
      @nomathic7672 3 года назад +12

      They really only last 1.5 years? That’s a shame considering the price

    • @ItsOkLilFella
      @ItsOkLilFella 3 года назад +5

      Nomathic That’s just specially for me though, they might last much longer for you depending on your weight/frequency of use. I’m 210lbs and use them 3-5 times a week exclusively on a 150lb bag. I’ve never seen longer than 1.5 years but I doubt they would be as popular as they are if everyone had that experience.

    • @user-nm1hc2my6w
      @user-nm1hc2my6w 3 года назад +4

      @@ItsOkLilFella Are there any gloves that have lasted longer for you? I'm considering winning but would like to get more than 1.5 years out of them. I'd be using them under similar conditions (I'm 175lbs solid power 4/wk dense 150lbs pbs bag work only).

    • @ItsOkLilFella
      @ItsOkLilFella 3 года назад +4

      @@user-nm1hc2my6w I think Reyes have a longer life overall. They’re not as soft and take a while to break in, but because of that they also breakdown much slower and should last you at least 3 years. At your weight I would use their 12-14oz gloves, but also be aware that Reyes are known for being heavier than what they’re marked. In other words, the 12oz gloves weigh closer to 14oz, and they’ll feel like it as well lol. Good luck and let me know how you make out!

    • @user-nm1hc2my6w

      @@ItsOkLilFella Thanks for the advice! I actually tried cletos a few days ago. I got them in 12oz. Left was 14.6; right 15.9oz. I really liked the protection, feedback, and snugness of the hand compartment and cuff, but the weight being that far off is a deal breaker for me.

    Have never had pain in my knuckles ever since I got winning gloves around 4 years ago. My only "criticism" is that when I got a pair of 12 oz gloves they felt uncomfortably snug on my hands. But once they were broken in they were perfect. I can't use any other gloves but Winning now. Wish I could get a pair with there old original logo on it. I wonder if that can be custom ordered

    I bought 16oz winning gloves with the strap and these are a real big difference than my previous everlast 16oz boxing gloves. The weight in the winning glove is much lighter which makes it a really comfortable and a real good sparring glove, it feels like you wearing no gloves. Using it on a heavy bag showed me the padding and wrist protection are really good, my punches hit a lot better and I have 0 pain in my wrist or knuckles after a hard heavy nag session. But in my opinion you should use these gloves only for sparring ( because it costs me 550 euro + shipping ), but if you have the money you should use it for everything.

    I aint boxed in a few years. Been out the game awhile lol. Reyes and winning were my favorite. Im looking to at least get back into some bagwork.
    I got a brand new pair of winning gloves from a long time ago but the padding was off when i got it a long time ago. Just on the left, the other is perfection.
    Reyes were great, a little roomier, nicer with wraps but that thumb sucks sometimes.

However, they're not considered a "Punchers" glove, which is why most fighters tend to opt for brands such as Cleto Reyes or Grant in actual bouts. When Pacquiao fought Erik Morales, he was wearing Winning gloves and he complained that they felt like pillows. Winning gloves have great durability and hand protection, which is why most fighters like to use them in training and sparring, but they do lessen the impact of your punches, which isn't exactly what you want in a proper bout when the objective is to beat your opponent. Not to mention that Winning don't sponsor fighters either, which is another factor as to why you don't often see them in pro bouts.

    I think gloves are personal preference. Winnings im sure r great but the velcro ones the wrist is flimsy didnt use them tried on in store punched my hand/forearm is all lol. I loved winnings responsiveness soft kind of springy/responsive & wicked liner real nice sleek fit nice to open/close but there are similar feeling gloves & pros are wearing all sorts of venom, grant, rival, phenoms, winnings, reyas & everything else. I dont know if there is one "best" glove or one best of anything tbh thats all im saying. Ive been through twins, top king, rivals, plus tried on most main brands minus phenoms, grants, flys. I settled on fairtex & venom hammer pro i use. Id have to get winnings & use 2 compare foam against my hammers but so far i prefer the velcro hammers over velcro winnings. My 2nd favourite velcro gloves r probably Gurrero V. Jmo

    I’ve used Grant, Reyes, Winning, and most recently Bayoneta.
    Winning is a very comfortable glove, much more comfortable than Reyes. For me, Grant takes the cake. The shape isn’t to flat or square, it’s more of an oval shape. This helps with ergonomics and they provide protection while delivering a nice pop.

      Hmmmm....yeah, Mexican gloves do have long rolled-up fingers. I guess try pakistan builds. Go to a glove store and try on different ones.

    I never liked my winnings boxing glove. For me the 2 killers are the bar in the middle that I never felt confortable with and the angle of the hand. The glove is angle so that it is difficult to to land straight on the knugle (at least it is for my hands) and I get really hurt when I hit the heavy bag. I think maybe my hands are too big for those asian gloves 😅

    • @expertboxing
      @expertboxing  7 месяцев назад

      Hmmm, what size glove are you wearing? Winning gloves are made for sparring anyway (and have plenty of room in the pocket). For bag gloves, you probably prefer more the rolled-up Mexican gloves.

    I have 12 oz as well of The sabas boxing gloves, and they are much much more comftebele and have more space inside the gloves, even the padding is much better then those 14 oz winning gloves of kozuji that i got, 🤦🏻‍♂️ i sended them back, waist of money on shipping.. So i don't know if kozuji send me some gloves that been made not Correctly... Like i said before here, i have 7 years old 14 Oz winnings and they just another world vs the new ones he sended me... Now im upset 🤦🏻‍♂️ don't know where to buy original winnings.
