I never made cole slaw until you gave me the tip about swapping the mayo for Greek yogurt and a splash of white wine vinegar. That is my favorite way to eat it.
Simple, classic Creamy Coleslaw with a healthy dressing takes just 10 minutes to make and uses just 5 ingredients! This is my go-to recipe for slaw and I hope you LOVE it! XO - Dani
Amazing recipe, thank you very much, Dani! I make a similar one with more carrot and slightly more garlic, swipe the mayo and jogurt and put olive oil and vinegar instead. It's a Greek salad named "politiki". Sometimes I add some roasted sweet red peppers on top. If I want to eat it for more days, I add everything except the olive oil and keep the salad in the fridge. The salt keeps the veggies fresh and on the bottom it creates this veggie juice, which I really love. And whenever I want to it, I just add the olive oil (if I do it in the beginning, the veggies go bad in the refrigerator). Thank you again, I got an amazing idea from you to twist it with majo! Love tons!
@@TheKonkehagia Hi Thanks for the oil & vinegar tip. I do a large batch of the slaw & have mayo & yoghurt on the 1st batch. I just put the rest in the fridge with some lemon or lime but will try adding vinegar aswell. Mine usually keeps for 3-4 days. Going to try a splash of lovely oil as u suggested as I never thought of that. I either have the fridge slaw plain or with mayo if I can be bothered 🙏🏽
@@dionnereid1737 yeah, I think with lemon is also a very tasty alternative! 👍 The key is to cut the veggies and add the salt, it shrinks them, makes them tastier and preserves them. The vinegar ferments them, so also adding taste. Maybe the fermentation happens also with lemon and sourness in general, dunno.
@@TheKonkehagia I noticed no onions & I always have them as part of a slaw as that's how I was taught. Do u put onions in yours? It will be my first time making a slaw with no onions at an age of 57. U learn new things every day😁
Thank you for the healthy, tasty , good recipe. I make my own mayonnaise with cold pressed virgin oil. Never buy from shops because of Canola, Corn or so called 'sounds good vegetable oils' But definitely Avocado mayonnaise is a good option. I try to have lots of sesame or tahini because for its health benefits especially for women. Hence, I also make dressing with tahini mixing with natural yogurt or Greek yogurt/strained yogurt. Sprinkling with some toasted sesame gives extra flavor to the salad.
Just made this and WOW I was not expecting this!!!!...its amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤....this will be going with me to my next potluck...its a must TRY everyone!!!!!
Look really good. Love the fact u left out the sugar or honey. Some people do like it but i definetly dont. I find the garlic lends some sweetness in taste to it. I have even added onion powder into it and it was good. I have to try it with a mix of greek yoghurt.
@@CleanandDeliciousDani I have tried your 3 quinoa salad recipes. Since I do not eat meat, I am exploring other plant based ways to increase my protein. Thinking about purchasing your cookbook. Thanks again. Ava.
@@avabassnett799 Amazing! thank you - have you tried adding lentils to your diet? They are a super powerhouse when it comes to plant based proteins. XO
Just a suggestion. When you scrape your garlic press off, use the back of your knife so you don't shave metal off of your press and you also won't dull you knife. It's safer and you won't dull your knife.

@@CleanandDeliciousDani what about using avacado mayo?
@@aprilhassell1747 Do you mean avocado in place of mayo or mayo with avocado oil?
@@CleanandDeliciousDani mayo made with avacado oil!!❤️

I also use a little splash of ACV
THIS LOOKS GREAT! Can't wait to try it
I'm so glad you plan to try it - enjoy!
This looks good! I love a sweet coleslaw so I’ll probably have to add some liquid stevia or something similar 😊 thanks Danny!
That would work - a bit of honey is also an option! Enjoy.
@@CleanandDeliciousDani that’s good to know! Thank you 😊❤️
ACV does the trick for me with the stevia. if you like it sweeter, try a little crushed pineapple is another option.

Thank you!
Does water leech out of the cabbage when you add salt? If so, can that be avoided?
I don't find that to be a problem - although perhaps if it sits for a day or so this would be the case.
sister nice recipe
Thank you!
I added chicken pecans and pickles with a little bit of mustard!
Going there for sure
Yum!
Try 1/2 mayo, 1/2 ranch dressing. Good !
Substitute for mayo please
You can use all Greek yogurt and add splash of white whine vinegar for a little tang!
@@CleanandDeliciousDani thank u so much i don't use mayo allergic reaction
It’s not so much about color, it’s about the anthocyanins.
The darker color is what you want

No vinegar no lemon juice no sugar yuck
