    I never made cole slaw until you gave me the tip about swapping the mayo for Greek yogurt and a splash of white wine vinegar. That is my favorite way to eat it.

      Amazing recipe, thank you very much, Dani! I make a similar one with more carrot and slightly more garlic, swipe the mayo and jogurt and put olive oil and vinegar instead. It's a Greek salad named "politiki". Sometimes I add some roasted sweet red peppers on top. If I want to eat it for more days, I add everything except the olive oil and keep the salad in the fridge. The salt keeps the veggies fresh and on the bottom it creates this veggie juice, which I really love. And whenever I want to it, I just add the olive oil (if I do it in the beginning, the veggies go bad in the refrigerator). Thank you again, I got an amazing idea from you to twist it with majo! Love tons!

      @@TheKonkehagia Hi Thanks for the oil & vinegar tip. I do a large batch of the slaw & have mayo & yoghurt on the 1st batch. I just put the rest in the fridge with some lemon or lime but will try adding vinegar aswell. Mine usually keeps for 3-4 days. Going to try a splash of lovely oil as u suggested as I never thought of that. I either have the fridge slaw plain or with mayo if I can be bothered 🙏🏽

    • @TheKonkehagia
      @TheKonkehagia Год назад +1

      @@dionnereid1737 yeah, I think with lemon is also a very tasty alternative! 👍 The key is to cut the veggies and add the salt, it shrinks them, makes them tastier and preserves them. The vinegar ferments them, so also adding taste. Maybe the fermentation happens also with lemon and sourness in general, dunno.

    Thank you for the healthy, tasty , good recipe. I make my own mayonnaise with cold pressed virgin oil. Never buy from shops because of Canola, Corn or so called 'sounds good vegetable oils' But definitely Avocado mayonnaise is a good option. I try to have lots of sesame or tahini because for its health benefits especially for women. Hence, I also make dressing with tahini mixing with natural yogurt or Greek yogurt/strained yogurt. Sprinkling with some toasted sesame gives extra flavor to the salad.

    Just a suggestion. When you scrape your garlic press off, use the back of your knife so you don't shave metal off of your press and you also won't dull you knife. It's safer and you won't dull your knife.
