The game still feels unpolished and unfinished right now, it almost feels like I'm playing a beta on live with the very low framerate at the menus and the inexpressive faces characters make in this game. It's not as terrible as I first thought it would be, but there's still a TON of work to do…
18 Years since WC3 launched in 2002. It's a big shame. You should be releasing WC5 by now.

Right now only worth it if you're a diehard Warcraft 3 fan already I'd say. Campaign is more interactive and harder, which is for me good, and colored health bars are a big plus for me (you can disable them).
But like come on you have 15 fps or something on the menus and you can't do anything about it. Thankfully the game runs smoothly but some animations are so weird and the overall game looks sometimes nice sometimes very weird and ugly at times...
Also some cinematics are still the old ones for some reason. I thought they were remade...

Second, the RTS genre is extremely popular. Helloo?? Starcraft 1? Starcraft 2? Even people still play WC3. Are you even using Steam to browse for PC games?? People don't seem to play much RTS because there are not much good new RTS games (because they expect same standard as SC2), not because RTS genre not popular. So... the ony reforged cinematic is the intro. The models and team colors are hard to read, the UI is bad. The icons are worse than before. It's 28GB. It costs $30.
And it has bugs. Many many bugs, making the game unplayable.
Its a fast, cheap mess made by a bunch of underpayed malaysians. So sad.

What's wrong with it? Thinking of buying it, but if something is wrong I sure as hell won't.
There isn't anything *wrong* gameplay wise, because its essentially the old game just looking a bit different. The problem is that they clearly didn't have the resources to put out the game the best they could I believe. The UI is slow and not the nicest, day 1 server crashing for a company like blizzard is honestly unacceptable. My personal let down were the cinematics. Of everything the game had to offer, those were the things I was most excited for. Re mastered, WoW class, CGI cinematics. Instead (and I believe this is where the "betrayal" comes in) its the same old cinematics that have just been upgraded to HD :/ its just not worth the waiting we have all done
@@jgalt00 They told us they weren't remaking the CGI cut-scenes a little after the first reveal. It's disappointing, yes, but they never promised to do more than re-render them at a higher resolution. The fact that they advertised that they'd redo the in-game cut-scenes to be more cinematic but then straight-up just abandoned that and we got the ones we had before is really the betrayal. Just look at the burning of stratholme blizzcon vs release.

@Random Person Plot is only one small problem, there are bigger like RTS games not being mainstream anymore, it's pretty much a dead genre; expectations would be too big, impossible to fulfil; they don't have people who would be able to make good RTS (same as with Diablo, D4 will be failure, it already looks like a cash grab); you can't sell too much microtransactions in RTS, new titles must have potential to be heavily monetised; it would compete with SC2/HotS/WoW instead of gaining new audience like Overwatch did.
Not at all as hard as people are saying and it let's Blizz double dip into charging consumers for roughly similar content. Have the base game of Warcraft 4 follow Vanilla and Burning Crusade then charge 15-30 bucks for every expansion thereafter: WotLK, Cataclysm, MoP, WoD, Legion, and BFA. Always have the WC4 expansions releasing at the end of the WoW expansion it's for or during midway of the current expansion, so Legion would be available now but BFA wont be available until Shadowlands. Mindless consumers will eat that shit up and continue to boost Activision/Blizzard's bottom line.
On second thought, I shouldn't give them any ideas...

The worst part is knowing we will never get to see what a warcraft 3 remake would look like if it was done by talented people that actually cared about what they where working on.
You should update this video to have the old cinematic from 20 years ago. Almost all of the cinematics in this game aren't new at all. The only new thing in this game are updated models and map graphics.

Look at the Culling of Stratholme beta, which is not in the released game btw, and this new cinematic. This is what they advertised. Nobody would buy a 30$ mod

well some of it was also the community's fault. people were complaining about remaking levels, cinematics and other things that would have made this better than it is right now.
What the heck Blizzard? I am stuck basically playing a prettier version of a game I played when I was 9. Yall advertised updated cutscenes, updated campaign map layouts & an updated control panel for the game. Instead we got mislead. If I wanted play Wacraft 3, I would have just stuck to the OG classic. I bought Warcraft 3 Reforged, expecting something similar, yet updated, something that was fresh and woulsnt make me feel like I was playing the EXACT same campaign again for the 4th time.

couldn't see any improvements on the campaign in the first missions :(
Mr. Funk I noticed a few lorelol fixes. Actual Warcraft 3 problems even before WoW retconned anything.
For example the tutorial campaign Sea Witch is more a Naga as it should have been. The slaver in Strahnbrad no longer had red skin - that shouldn't have come about until Manniroth.
8 missions have apparently been entirely overhauled.
I would agree that it does not live up to what was promised, but it's still a great game.
I do have issues with the frame rate on the menus. But in-game and during cinematics it works fine.

@@thendon Quick note on that, some of the speech text and overall chanting of the cut-scenes have changed, like in the Prophecy prologue itself.
Rather than saying "Grom" out of Thrall knowing Grommash Hellscream as a dear friend, he says "Hellscream" and beyond a doubt can you hear that it was implanted there since the sound of it doesn't fit the overall conversation.
This is put one out of many of the errors out there, same goes for the models when they speak within the cutscenes, their models don't animate properly at times with what is being said.
Looks like they were too busy making Warcraft: Candy Crush and Warcraft Go.
The game has more bugs than in the beta, wtf blizzard?! Black screen, low fps, bugged sounds and graphics, and not forget the no new cinematics, no new content, no new nothing. The only great things are the models, but you didnt made them, it was a chinese company. You are breaking my heart!!

@@Darius404 if it's an RPG I've probably played it, so yes, I've played all 3 witchers. They're great games, but they dont hold a candle to the classics. I wouldn't even put the witcher series above the dragon age series tbh, though DA2 was a miss. When it comes to the last great RPG studio I would go with black isle. Baldur's Gate will always be the gold standard; if you haven't played that, you can't even comment on the quality of todays RPGs lol.

Optimization seems good, and I can finally play the game with above minimum settings. But custom games are still unplayable, wasn't been able to create nor join. Space orc model is still missing and I was hoping for variations like with all other creeps.

They never said they will reforge cinematics. And they went back on new cutscenes because veterans didn't like it.
Once upon a time, seeing "Blizzard Entertainment" on the box of a video game meant that this was a game worth purchasing. That it was a game that was going to provide you with untold hours of fun.

The last part of this trailer was just clean cuts from the much older version of Warcraft 3 and its Frozen Throne expansion? I truly can't see anything related to an updated version on those cutscenes within this trailer, they just look like the old ones but given more light really. Is that really the case?
I truly hope that isn't the case, I truly hope that you've improved it all x10 in order to sell the "Reforged" aspect of this.

If you are correct however, then by all means Activision Blizzard have done a piss poor excuse of an entitled "Reforged" game.
Take a look at HD Age of Empire's recent remastered version, everything is upgraded from top to bottom.
Either way everyone knows they've improved the UI and models in general, I made a comment on cutscenes and cinematics as a manner of fact.

110% confirmed, looked it up and checked through the Blizzcon itself, they do mention that its only 4K resolution. However the rendered cinematics won't ever be touched (won't be remade).

Also last year at Blizzcon they said that ingame cutscenes would only receive minor additions (gestures and perhaps minor new camera angels) so unfortunately they simply had way too small team working on this/not enough resources
But honestly that should not be surprising...I mean did you really think Activision-Blizzard would have had any interest to pour lot of resources into 18 year old RTS game? A genre that has (unfortunately) very niche audience and mainly us existing WC3 fans would care about this...

@K Oh they already (kind of) did. They released a statement saying that they are sorry W3RF didn't meet the players expectations.
As if they weren't the ones setting those expectations with their pre launch marketing. This is especially stupid since their trailer for the new cinematics is still on their website, setting expectations which won't be met.
I can' t belive that campaign maps are exactly the same of the classic wc3. So disappointed about that. No fcking change from the old version

@@cazaclaw3775 not really. They chose the easiest thing to do and blamed purists. Overwhelming majority of beta feedback was to "reforge" the whole game.
@@mariosblago94 alot of people vocally were very mad that they were changing things, i personally would of liked them to but the majority of people wanted it to be the same. Though i am noticing differences especially in stratholme

Trailer is awesome but there has been a big lack of hype creating and advertisement.
People are downvoting because we got an unfinished product, which has become normal nowadays.
Back in the day, when the gaming industry wasnt established like today and not a multi-billion industry, games were made by people with passion, who wanted to created something awesome and also earn money with it.
Now money always comes first, graphics and quality like that second and everything else third like passion and gameplay and polish and depth and creativity and story and player focused and art and PASSION & Quality in any other way than graphics.
Back in the day you could feel the nerdism of the devs, now its shallow, we had 10 times more legendary games than nowadays!
Also most good games these days are follow ups or remakes
The greed has become too big, games never release in an awesome state, Day1 patch has become normal
This needs to stop.
The best and the most honest company nowadays is CD Projekt Red. Maybe they moved premiere of Cyberpunk, but they wouldn't do thing like this

I blame Activision. Couple months after they partnered up, money store appeared in WoW. Started going downhill from there.
Sucks that the game industry has become a business now.

Warcraft III: Reforged is basically Warcraft III for 30 EUR. I nejoy all the upgrades, like Graphics and ... graphics, and did i mention graphics. Yea so Awesome. I want Warcraft: Orcs and Humans: REFORGED (50 eur) with 4 unit group cap, that will be so fun !
