Its Tekken 8 Season! So as you would expect, the guides will flow. Lets start with these 10 essential tips, covering gameplay aspects at all levels of play. If you are new to Tekken the game indeed can be daunting, but the fighting game way of things is to train, learn, and improve so lets get your feet on the ground and start your fighting game journey! Give the video a watch, timestamps for your ease of use are here, like if ya liked it, and let me know what ya think!
Love it man, I haven't even gotten to fire up the game yet...yet there's a tutorial from my boy ready for me to check before I hop on! Grade S+ RUclipsr Roof! 🦍
Great Tips for anyone new to Tekken. You are the best tutor for FG's in general, for a reason. Tekken is definitely the GOAT of FG's ngl. Appreciate all your effort and excited to see what you bring to the table in the coming days ahead
And yes, Choose a Main for Tekken is coming. I am gonna eat something and then basically im working, no sleep, until its done. Hopefully live later tomorrow night, expect it to be well over 2 hours long but thats just how things go lol. Leave some likes and pray for me cause im gonna be fueled by your energy and some red bulls pumping out the content for the next few days
Played the first Tekken at an arcade in Stockholm summer 1994 and was blown away! It was one of those 50" back-projection cabinets with huge speakers hooked up (like big Cerwin-Vega 15" woofer towers) and the sound was cranked up so high that the sound effect of the characters falling to the ground made the whole seat rumble. Now, come this evening, after work, I'm heading to a friends place to play Tekken 8 on his 65" with a Bose sound system and subwoofer, drinking beer, eating snacks and having one hell of a time! Good times, love this game series! 🤩😍❤🍻 Cheers all you Tekken fans out there!
@@mikeykane5938 It was as fun as I had imagined! God this game is good! And even as just a couch play game with friends, tinkering with different characters, it's a blast! Go buy!
Just wanna say I appreciate all the effort you put in in order to get these guides out so quick every time there’s a new release. You’re seriously the goat keep doing what you do
Preciate how fast you get these up. This is my first Tekken so wasn't really sure where to go to but definitely gonna come back here to learn how to get better. Thanks for the hard work Rooflemonger!
Don't forget everyone its OK to lose! Even the pros who have been playing tekken for forever still get perfected, comboed to oblivion, missed moves, etc. GOOD LUCK! JUST LET LOOSE
Roofle-sama! You're a legit gift to fighting games. This is my first Tekken. Fired it up, looked at the movelist for my main and then immediately went to yt for starter tips cause i got overwhelmed😂. I knew for sure you would've posted. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Roofle I went off your guides in SF6 early days as a first time SF player and it gave me the foundation to make it to master. I plan on (hopefully) doing the same for tekken! You give the most digestible and understandable information and I appreciate all you do!
Heat Smash reminds me of Exceed Accel in BlazBlue: Centralfiction 22:04 Just now noticing how that stage's wind affects the hair physics. Looks freaking awesome
yeah first thing I did was make Jack-01 eva style lol, that stage though honestly doesn't show off the colours the best though, lighting is a bitch I guess
Thank you for making this video. It's been such a long time since I played a Tekken game, so these tips really help. I'm also looking forward to this game's "Choose a Main", even though I've already decided on mine. They're still very interesting to watch, and it's useful to know how each character works.
Got onto your channel when Mk1 dropped. I have never seen a more well-designed character guide, across any game, than the one you did for Shao. As someone who has never touched Tekken in their lives, I can't tell you how relieved I was to see that you were also making content for it. Keep up the great work! You make complete newbies like me much more interested in learning and playing the game.
This game gives you so many tools . It really wants you to become good which in return keeps the player base high I guess . I am having a blast so far and didn't know a fighting game could surprise me in so many ways . Thanks for the effort roofle ! As always 180 Damage content ❤
Looking forward to the continued Tekken content! I'm glad you highlighted the replay features because that's low-key one of the coolest additions. I'd highly recommend that new players or people just getting back into Tekken watch a couple of their own replays with the tips on. The game will highlight opportunities for punishes or better combos, let you watch a demo of whatever it recommends, and then let you practice it in the same situation as the match. It's a great learning tool.
This is insane one of the hardest parts in labbing tekken for me was trying to recreate a situation but I couldn’t find certain opponent characters moves so being able to jump straight in from the replay is really awesome people are going to get really good at this game
Playing for the first time tonight against some friends with a few hours on the game. This guide is the only leg up I've got and I appreciate it! I'll do my best to make you proud.
Man! I'm LOVING Tekken 8 so far! Good to know that the damage scaling goes back up after a heat dash during combos, so it can be worth using to cash out damage late in said combo. :o
I was going to wait for a sale or more review but the practice and shadow mode sold me out. So far it seems that many of the online feature has improved too and feel like finally listen to the rollback netcode and crossplay
I was deadly serious about tekken ball when I was younger, so maybe. When i was watching the tekken ball exhibition I was screaming at the screen on how they just didnt understand
I picked up tekken 7 last year. First thing i wanted to do was learn korean back dash lol. Took me atleast 4 or 5 weeks practicing for hours and hours everyday until i got it down. Then i learned the moves lol. Skating across the screen feels so good im glad i did that it was totally worth it. Roofle you da man.
Amazing video, you so deserve more attention on your channel. Hope the upcoming guides go smoothly for you, and curious if you have a main picked in this game yet
I have been mashing with King since I was like 5 years old. After actually learning fighting games and becoming a real fan the last few years Im excited to give tekken a real try
At first I was concerned because we going over basics and he recommended jumping over lows, but beside that everything in this video is something I would easily recommend to a new player. There were some things I forgot were added like the replay takeover feature.

3d fighters just have a lot more moving parts as a whole, so there's just that much more to learn. Not any one thing is actually more difficult, in fact a lot of things are easier than 2d fighters, but you just have to learn a lot.
