Having watched several of your boot reviews at this point, I must say, that I truly appreciate the intellectual fashion, and wholly practical manor, in which you approach the explanation, and presentation of each piece in question. Your "even-handed" tone, combined with a strong sense of direction, narratively speaking, help to guide the listener through each episode, with full comprehension achieved. Excellent work, IMHO. And thank you for sharing. Best wishes.......
I have a pair of Nicks Urban Drifters. I ment to wear them only on hikes but I now wear them at work because I like to go on walks during my break. Had them on for a year and they are very comfortable. It’s hard not to wear them. I’m thinking about ordering a second pair. I also have 2 Truman boots that I use on an everyday basis and they’re my go to boots for when I’m not at work. They’re all tough boots that can get beat up and often get compliments before and after clean up. The Truman’s were quicker to break in than the Nicks. Both are a dream the wear, comfortable and are holding up fantastic. Highly recommend both companies.
Awesome boots congrats. Can you please do a comparison between these Nick boots vs Viberg vs White's. Semi dress service boots. Thanks again. I see version 2 is out by the way 😊
Reminds me of my redwing blacksmith They nice like the leather and quality It’s just that sole just don’t have a lot of support I find that actual work boots seem to have more support
Fantastic looking boots. Really great. I predict with the CXL with its stretch and on the 602 last those boots will be incredibly comfortable when broken-in. I’m envious.
I like the beginning before the intro had a Mr Rogers entering his home feel. As always I appreciate the time it takes to share your thoughts and knowledge on film for us.
The one good thing about more spacing in the stitching, is it allows for the boot to be rebuilt more times than the Viberg. When you have that many holes in the leather, it causes more damage when you try to rebuild them, which affects its strength over time.
Kia Ora Just ordered my first Grant stones, my first pair of traditional ones outside RM Williams etc. If you are ever in New Zealand man I have a shoe/boot maker that makes custom shoes at very reasonable prices (500 USD ish). Thanks for the plunge back into "non bespoke" shoes
Love the look of these. Thanks for the video. My British Tan CXL ordered 5/4 will be coming soon I hope. Seeing yours looking so good has increased my anticipation!
Cant wait to get mine. I ordered mine in the W&C Tan Oiled Latigo, so betting i will not see them until December. I am a confrotable 8.5 in the 602M and in between an 8.5 and 9 (some of each) in 602. I went with a 9 in these, so based on your fitting review, i am feeling better about my size choice. Thanks for the detailed review.
Three weeks ago I said you need a pair Falcons to complete the Pacific North West trio (along with Whites MP and Viberg Service boots) and you simply gave a like, but no real response. I applaud your restraint, I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut! Cheers
Just beautiful…..I’m wondering only the way you lace them….i guess it is not the way I would do….any way, congratulations for the great boots you got….i ordered overlander, and they should be near to be prepared, if I saw this video before, I was choosing your boots…..bye…
These are the types of boots that I like. I teach at a university and do field laboratory activities, so having just one pair of boots that would fair well at different work settings is great. It might even work out on a date night too.
I wear mostly cowboy boots because I don’t have to lace them. I need a hip and both shoulders replaced and find it hard to lace boots. But I’m wearing Irish setters today.
Thanks for the review, don't worry about the pull loop, after a while it flattens down, at least on my boots they do. I just ordered the same model as yours, but in W&C Double Stuffed (they were in their "ready to ship" section = no waiting). Can't wait to try them on!
Only bad thing about ordering Nick’s is the long turnaround, but I assure that it’s totally worth the wait. Once you know your size then you’re on your way! I have 2 pairs, just ordered a pair in black waxed flesh and pretty stoked! These are very nice boots too!
@nicholasbland6414 they missed when doing the white stitching at the front. And the boots don't match symmetrically because of the vamp leather. I forgive them doing Frankenstein zombie 🧟♀️ stitching on my uppers though. My boot was gnarly worn. No excuses for the rest. I really think they didn't even make an effort
Your a pretty cool guy I like the way you talk about boots you keep it simple and real. since I subscribed to your channel 3 months ago I now I have 4 pairs of grant stone’s 2 pairs of redwings 2 pairs of Higgins mill Allen Edmonds 3 danners boots and2 Chippewa boots 2 nicks boots 1 from nicks quick ship and 1 from eBay and 4 nicks boots on order now I have a chance to buy these boots but I’m thinking this is crazy 😂 good thing they have a good resale value 👍
Hello there superb review as always…the boots look like a tank I’m sure they feel that way too..yes they look like the Whites MP the MP being better (lil biased there)…you are right the boots look a little longer than usual but they are smart..Cheers!!!
Hi Teik. Love your reviews. Nicks makes a solid boot. I ended up with a fair bit of discomfort over my cuboid bone (outside mid foot) on their classic arch. For my second order I chose a slightly wider width and hope that works better.
Gosh, our feet are so different aren’t they? Also ONE style of boot CAN be different in itself. Apparently it depends on the leather (how easily it stretches over the last), the time of day (warmer means stretchier), the varying strength of the person if hand lasted!
Guarded Goods Italian waxed round laces work much better than the Nicks leather laces...they don't have trouble going around the speedhooks and are much easier and comfortable...you are going for a dress boot look, and they really do jazz it up...
Lovely boots but I'm not tempted anymore 🙂.. I've decided that I don't want (I've never needed them) any more overly rugged, heavy and overbuilt casual boots to walk to the shops or take the dog around the local park or woodland trails. Stuff like Thursday boots and nicely cushioned Vibram Christy soled boots make more sense. Maybe wearing UK size 12 also contributes to that. And for hiking on rougher ground, proper (leather) hiking boots from Meindl, Scarpa etc make more sense for me. I'm not yet at the stage where I'm going to let my Vibergs or Grant Stones go though.
You know I like those types of pull straps, because I like to show off my boots, the pull straps keeps my pant leg from covering up any cool looking boots, but that’s just me.
Very cool. Thanks for the content you've been putting out! I love your approach to this topic. And I can't imagine the hit your closet is taking to keep fresh content coming our direction! There can't be room for anything but boots at this point :)
Hi Teik, I was watching this again after my version of these boots arrived... Something was nagging me about mine, and I have realized what it is. Your brown CXL and my British Tan CXL are exactly the same color. I mean exactly. I recycled my shipping box, so I can't refer to the marking they do on the outside. My email for the order definitely says British Tan CXL, but I'm wondering at this point that I might have received brown CXL. Not that I am unhappy in any way, they look very nice. It's just weird. Maybe batches vary in color, but mine are quite dark brown.
That’s weird, British Tan CXL is definitely tan, but a year ago I got a comment on my British Tan CXL Whites MP review that their version looked “browner” so maybe both Whites and Nicks screw their orders now and then or CXL batches get screwy
I shy away from 6 inch boots for such tongue design and kiltie. Your slight discomfort is what I concerned about. I hope that happen less in my 8 inches Officer. If the issue persist, I will skive the end of the kiltie. The shape of this Nicks is the best looking sir. Thanks for your sharing.
Nice review. I like the looks of the boot. You said that that they are similar to the Whites MP boot, which I have. From what I saw on the video the Falcon has a sharper (more dressy) toe box than the Whites MP. Would say that is true or is it about the same? I like my Whites MPs, but I do like a dressier look to my boots.
I struggle to think of another "collaboration" between shoe companies where one used the other's last, and that was advertised. Might say something about what the Internet has done for customer education. All the videos I've seen of Nicks outseaming showed them using Rapid E stitching machines.
@@BootlosophyI have seen some promo photos of recent Nicks boots with tighter stitching. I expect they'll be offering that as part of their more upscale line due Q4 this year. Meanwhile, I understand the Rapid Es are great machines for pounding through 100-lug soles and double veg-tan midsoles on work boots all day, but not capable of stitching as fine as a Landis, much less the newer Italian machines Viberg use. Meanwhile, dress shoe makers poking holes with awls can go even finer on show pieces. Long story short, I think it's all looks. Your V-Bars aren't coming off unless someone goes at them with tools.
Nicks claims the machine stitch is more watertight and durable. While a higher SPI certainly looks nicer, I do feel like it would result in fewer resoles, due to the number of holes already in the leather. The biggest reason I'm ok with them not doing hand stitching it is to help protect their workers long term health though!
I Believe In one of their podcasts or on a reddit post they mentioned they had to lower the SPI because of material shortages but that this would be only temporary.
How do you afford so many boots??? It's an impressive obsession, sir! I know you're legit and not some sponsored influencer like Rose Anvil. Always bringing the real 💪🏽💯🥾

If you use it for hikes does that mean it identify as Mountain Drifter now?
Best of both worlds… built like a tank with a badass last 👍
These look fantastic. Hope they are still available from Nick’s
Nice looking boots.
After having Thursday, then Red Wing, I think my ultimate boot of my life will be from Nicks, at least still achievable.
Awesome boots congrats. Can you please do a comparison between these Nick boots vs Viberg vs White's. Semi dress service boots. Thanks again. I see version 2 is out by the way 😊
Big fan of the V-bar sole. It’s got way more grip than you’d think it does just by looking at it.
Those boots are going to be hard to beat. Now you’re ready to be an action hero, take it easy on us mere mortals.
Thank You for sharing! Apocalypse outfit that'd be interesting lol

I admire that pull loop that looks like an adult can get their finger through it.

It’s big AND solid. A fat sausage could get through it!!!

Really beautiful pair of boots. Exactly as you explained. Along with the Robert, the Falcon fits equally well in the city as the country. Thanks!
The one good thing about more spacing in the stitching, is it allows for the boot to be rebuilt more times than the Viberg. When you have that many holes in the leather, it causes more damage when you try to rebuild them, which affects its strength over time.
Very good point!
You can fold the upper inside and then convert to a Goodyear welt.
But: I personally think I won't need a resole for years to come.
I hope they do this collaboration many times, I was not able to pick up another pair of boots at the time these were available.

I love the end of the world idea maybe get some waxed canvas jackets also to review
I cut the pull loop off of my falcons for the very reason you described.
Great review. Great boot. Best of both worlds, rugged and dressy enough.
Interesting that nicks and parkhurst did a collaboration. I didn’t expect that. Good video. Thank you
Nicks doesn't offer any hand sewn boots anymore, this was stitched using a machine, likely a rapid E stitch.

Looks like you laced in the kiltie wrong. There should not be a straight lace over the top like that. It leaves a big gap in the laces.
I find it locks in the kilties better, but on the Nicks, you’re right. I had to revert to the under and over!
