    I wish more companies would do some unique models. There’s only so many brown plain toe service boots one can get.

      You're totally correct! But they do have a few more unique things... although they're pretty much all varying shades and textures of brown... hah! ;) Cheers, mate! Thanks for the comment.

    Gosh, those are sharp. You are really bringing some quality stuff to the channel.

      Thx, sir! I've really grown to like Parkhurst since I bought my first (Niagara) back at the end of the summer. Quality for price is great.

    That’s a sharp looking pair of boots. I feel like the traditional brown gets overlooked these days as we’re all chasing unique leathers. Unfortunately I just blew my boot budget on Grant Stone’s b grade restock 😂

      Thx man! Yeah - the right medium brown always ends up being the most worn boot in most dude's closets I bet. And I feel you on the GS stuff... I'm just glad they didn't have anything in my size that spoke to me.

    Really wish Parkhurst would do more smooth leathers like this. I emailed them last week if this will be coming back and Andrew said that it won't.

      That's too bad! One of the reasons I picked this for a long term review was that I thought he told me it would be an item he'd restock regularly, but either I misunderstood or he changed his mind.

    I wear boots both in actual work situations in the elements and casually on my days off running around or some dress casual occasions. I've discovered that I don't like a shiny finish or anything flashy in regards to the boots that I have on. As beautiful as these boots are, I'm trending towards the matte or waxy finish. Even for an office setting, I think I would feel a little uncomfortable wearing this model. I have wanted a pair Parkhurst boots though because I have a connection to the Buffalo area.

      Understandable! I can totally see this style not being everyone's cup of tea. I do have their Niagara in waxy commander and it's great too! And I just got their Bidwell shoe in dune roughout. Three types of leather, and you can't go wrong with any. Mostly smooth options right now, but I bet they're will be a lot more rough stuff coming from them. 😎

    I've been struggling to find service boots in the right size lately, which I may have mentioned. A couple of the brands that insist they RUN BIG actually RUN SMALL, so maybe I will look into this brand again later once I get those other ones squared away. But I still also have a couple Thursday and some others that HAVEN'T EVEN WORN YET, so there's that... Like I said, glad to hear that paring down the number for a more workable amount sounds like good decision to me, but also a couple months too late for me now because already committed to firsthand knowledge quest... Yipes!

    • @Highland_Paddy

      I'm not as crazy about all the chrome colors or the shiny finish, but then most of them it's more like Natural Veg Tan or Black or nothing? I guess I could get more interested in the Natural Veg and then supposedly 'twould darken a bit with oils and junk, but that's a lot of work and guessing game instead of just getting the right shade of brown that nobody seems to really offer??? [Unless you want accurate military historical, which is lighter than brown?]

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 8 месяцев назад

      But I also already have the Cabell ones that are pull-up in brown but run a smidge loose, that have been ignored since last March already, too. They're a little darker than this.

    • @Highland_Paddy

      I'm less into the idea of Goodyear Welts now, too, I guess. But I'm also not going into the total Custom Realm yet, either.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, still really not crazy about speed hooks on shorter boots, or especially "dressy" boots. Or much at all, really.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 8 месяцев назад +1

      Stuff like unfinished edge annoys me, but not enough that I'd return them like some other flaws or errors. Mostly I have sizing issues so far with multiple companies, so I have to ignore that stuff more or I'd never end up with any that fit???

    Nice to hear the 602 vs 602M comparison. I was wondering. I only have 602 and it’s good to get sizing advice for what seems will be their direction going forward.

    • @rockymtnstyle
      @rockymtnstyle  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah I wish I could have said more about it but they are pretty similar, plus the Niagaras are fully broken in so it was hard to tease out the real difference versus just feels.

    Hey, this is great. And love Parkhurst. Thanks for the review. I’m just seeing this now. I’m curious, how does the mini lug feel? It looks like a pretty low profile, but what does it feel like to walk on?

    • @rockymtnstyle
      @rockymtnstyle  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks, Matt! The mini lug on this boot is really comfy. WAY better than the Vibram mini-lug outsole for walking and overall noise levels. This and the Truman are probably my fav mini-lug style outsole.

      @@rockymtnstyle thanks. I really appreciate the response. I’ve been on the fence about this boot because I typically prefer the studded danite style sole for my typical day to day, which this would be. Keep up the great work.

    I don't need another brown boot but I now wished that i picked up the black smooth leather when it was available 😅

    Beautiful boot. But very similar to Deisel, Higgins Mill, Caswell Lisbon, etc. Hard to pinpoint what makes this unique from the others.

    • @josephcase7004
      @josephcase7004 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@meiko_kaji That would definitely set it apart somewhat. I think the only comparable doing that right now is GS with their new Garrison boot.

    • @rockymtnstyle
      @rockymtnstyle  8 месяцев назад +2

      Good point. At the end of the day, it's a brown boot! Maybe I should have included side comparison off all the popular ones. To me this is the prettiest shape.

    • @josephcase7004
      @josephcase7004 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@rockymtnstyle Don't get me wrong. I tend to prefer plain toe over cap toe. The majority of my (somewhat small) collection is plain toe. But to your point, as I watched the video, I couldn't help think "that looks like my Higgins Mill, or Lisbon, or Deisel, or...". That said, I do think you're on to something with your comparison idea. Highlighting the subtle differences between the boots. To paraphrase your line: the small details that boot nerds pick up on.

    • @rockymtnstyle
      @rockymtnstyle  8 месяцев назад

      Exactly!! Think I'll try to incorporate that more. Set up the camera with the same back drop and lighting and get all the boots photographed in equal footing.

      You can always check out Truman. The 79 last actually has a pretty unique silhouette when you set it next to most other service style boots.
