Some users in Germany have tested this car and shared interesting statistics. Specifically, the Tesla Model Y equipped with a BYD battery can maintain a charging power of 170 kilowatts, enabling it to charge from 11% to 71% in just 15 minutes.

In comparison to the base model of the Model Y manufactured in China, which is outfitted with a CATL battery, the charging prowess of the BYD Blade battery-equipped Model Y surpasses it, as illustrated in the following graph. It can maintain the peak charging rate of 170 kilowatts, as mentioned earlier, up to a 50% state of charge. However, the CATL battery pack boasts a larger capacity, at 60 kilowatt-hours compared to the 55 kilowatt-hours provided by the Blade battery. Consequently, it can deliver a range of 455 kilometers (282 miles), surpassing the Blade battery's range by 15 kilometers (9 miles).

Achieving a 500-mile range would indeed require a large battery. Tesla is continuously working on improving battery technology to optimize performance and range.
Range will be nowhere near 500 miles. It will probably be somewhere closer to 350.

Haha 500 miles used ones every 6 months in some few cases. Sure there are some few like salespersons and taxi drivers that work a lot every day in a car. But most people drive to work and back. Mass market is the price combined with size for 4 or 5 persons and a great massive trunk. 200 to 250 miles is enough and 15 minutes charging time. Price point $ 25.000

Nothing could be further from the truth. 300 miles is more than sufficient today and this need will drop to 250 miles or even less as the fast-charging infrastructure gets built up further yet.

Not to mention all EV lost around 20% of its performance in cold temperature, and Tesla only recommend only charging to 80% SoC, so out of 300-mile than that you theoretically get, in reality it only get 180 miles of range, and that is far behind any diesel or gas courterpart. That's just terrible. Range and charging infrastructure, both is important for EV.
Don't worry, consumers can buy models with 300 miles range if they want it.
It is important to have models with different ranges such as you have now with RWD versions, and people are free to choose what it meets their needs.

The distance f4om Las Vegas to Los Angeles is approximately 270 miles. I don't know which Model Y you talking about but my model Y can't go that far one way and definitely won't go that far round trip like you mentioned at the beginning.

Everyone always leaves out that Li-ion batteries also lose 2%-6% capacity per year without any cycles. Depending on the storage temperature and state of charge. Heat and charge more or less than 40% increases loss of capacity.

Fantasy BS to think you'll see 500 mile range in the Juniper. 4680 battery is the mythical unicorn that will never live up to the hype.
If the Model Y Juniper uses 4680 cells, achieving a 500-mile range might be challenging given the current energy density and efficiency of these batteries. However, if Tesla adopts newer battery technologies with higher energy densities, such as solid-state batteries or next-generation lithium-ion variants, then reaching that 500-mile range becomes a more feasible goal. Right now, just wait and see how thing unfold.
When the main speaker is talking there should be no voices in the background, this is super annoying. Also the rate of speach is too fast! Also much of the video has nothing to do with what the speaker is discussing. I'd give the channel a 2 out of 10.

Driving a current Model Y from LA to Vegas on a single charge at typical I-15 speeds isn't really likely as mileage decreases quickly as speed goes up, and you're normally going to have the A/C going pretty strong which also decreases mileage.
Yup, that's why we need more DC fast-charging stations across the US. Until that time comes, we need an affordable EV with a longer range first
@@adamtech999 Agree 100%, but Baker is around half way between LA and Vegas and has a huge Tesla supercharger station. Of course, there's a huge number of people travelling to Vegas on Friday afternoon/evening and Baker is a very popular spot for all drivers to stop, maybe gas up, and get some food and drinks.
