Supertramp is Roger Hodgson & Rick Davies. Both are singers, songwriters and keyboardplayers. So there are often two voices and always lots of keys. This album is their prog masterpiece and Breakfast in America is their commercial masterwork.

Actually, you are both correct. This song and Elton's song "Madman Across The Water" explore similar territory both lyrically and musically. And they were recorded within roughly a year of each other. So in that sense, they are bound to share at least one momentary vibe. But aside from that, they are each their own singular artistic vision. And both are remarkable achievements.

This hits hard. Elton vibes for sure and maybe some Beatles thrown in too. Definitely insane. These dudes had style and musicianship. Tell me they didn't listen to Genesis. I am thinking of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway "Good morning, Rael" Not to mention the hard drums on this one. Yes, they did it again. Elite, true.

Thanks for getting back to Suoertramp. I especially love Roger Hodgson's guitar work at the end of the song. You should check it out from the Live In Paris concert video.
FYI: The lead is sung by Rick Davies. Roger Hodgson is the other voice.
