You're still scratching the surface with these guys........they won't let you down. The real Crime of the Century is that they aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

That entire album "Crime Of The Century" is worth listening to. Each song tells a different part of a story. What that story is can only be determined by the listener.
Supertramp was on my Mom's regular rotation. Whenever I heard that harmonica intro start, us kids knew the house was getting cleaned from top to bottom that day! Good memories.
So glad you guys are enjoying what guys my age call, "our music". I mean it's been nearly 50 years since they became one of my fave bands of all time! Damn. But I've been blessed to be able to pull this out and listen to CotC all of these years. I always said if Elton John and Pink Floyd had a baby (even though they were contemporaries w/Supertramp) it would be Supertramp. They're serious, but take wild flights of fancy... they're fun, but with great chops. Just a pure joy to listen to Crisis What Crisis, CotC (this album), Breakfast in America, Even in the Quietest Moments ( 😍) Best to you guys, as always!
My favorite Supertramp LP; “Hide in Your Shell” is another spectacular track. I would have never made the Daft Punk connection…that’s what makes these inter-generational reactions so fun! 👍
All these years later, this song still resonates for me. I often listen to this whole album on the drive to visit my daughter. Perfect music to lose yourself in for about an hour. Your reaction to it was not surprising. Glad you enjoyed it.
Ahhh, delicious selection….Thursday is off to a tasty start….and yes, these blokes are DOPE! The musical tapestry they weave is intricate, sublime yet rocks….glad you played them! These guys occupied my turntable nonstop in the 70’s….your reaction has it pegged…lovely work guys!
I was 14 when I bought this album at the record store. I'm 62 now, and it's still one of my favorites. The whole record is a masterpiece. Please react to every track. Thanks! Glad you like it.
Their sound production has always been top tier, not just on their albums, but they were the few band who cared enough to do top notch sound production during their concerts. Other bands that came to mind that was top notch was Yes and The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Robert Plant: they are cared about their music, and were fussy with their sound production.
Love that 70's technology, you can still hear the tape hiss, even in the quietest moments. LOL. "School" is my favorite song off of COTC, except, "Asylum", "Hide In Your shell", "Bloody Well Right" and...
The middle section of that song actually reminds me of Green-Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf. It's a total jam and I bet you guys would love it if you have not already done it. Crime of the Century by Supertramp is also a masterpiece in my view.
Great reaction! Although they were huge during their time, especially around the release of Breakfast in America, I've always felt that they were underrated in retrospect and historically. However, they've been getting a lot of love from you reactors and justifiably so! This was my favorite LP from them, but BIA has soooo many great tracks as well. Masters of dynamics (the build ups and drops) and love their use of a full range of instruments (ie. clarinet, etc.) 🔥
under rated? they were big since indelibly stamped and were huge when crime of the century came out. 1980 was a bad year since both breakfast from supertramp and duke from genesis came out and a big slice of my prog youth had disappeared.
Guys, listen to Supertramp song Even in the quietest Moments, think you’ll enjoy it. The fact you listen so closely and appreciate this band speaks volumes to your musical experience and intelligence Love you guys ! 👍
You guys are producers - little wonder you've been hooked by Supertramp. Load all their music and hit random play - you just won't be fast forwarding. Even if your not a fan of the song, you'll appreciate the angle they're taking on it. Amongst the songs you may want to consider is one from I believe their last album - CANNONBALL" - great bumpin base and some outstanding sax, xylophone, and upbeat tempo. Keep up the good work guys !
Absolutely loved your reaction! I have been waiting for you guys to get to "School". This was the first song I ever saw them play live and I was hooked and turned so many people onto this band. The first time I saw them in concert was on this tour and they came out and played this album start to finish in order. That was the show, and the crowd was in awe. Hopefully you do all of this album and then the Crisis What Crisis album before you jump into their other albums. Enjoy the journey gentlemen because it will be a hell of a ride!
I was wondering when you guys were going to get around to this one. To see what great musicians these guys are, you should check out "School, Live Paris 79"
I've been watching many reaction videos and love you guys,..keep up the good work, and spread the good vibes,... I've seen Supertramp 4 times in Montreal growing up,..this album specifically came out in I believe 1974 I was around 15,..it was one of my favs for sure,.. saw the concert that released this Crime Of The Century album at the Montreal Forum,... the cover song rocks,....
Woo hoo! This what a hit when I was in middle school! I was in marching band and my friends(drummers) used to put this album on in the band room(on reel to reel tape!), and Man did that sound great ! Band room was made for acoustics and speakers throughout the room! Supertramp fan since then!❤️❤️❤️
My favorite Supertramp song, and one of my favorite instrumental solos of all time, from an era when arrangement and production values meant something.
This dude on bass, WOW! He proves, without a shadow of a doubt, that you don't have to play at lightning speed or do a bunch of crazy slapping to absolutely groove, Nice, simple lines that never miss is the sign of a seasoned pro.
I can only speak from my experience with growing up as a teenage boy in the 70s here in the Midwest , I gotta tell you most teenage boys snickered at Supertramp ! They were not hard rock like Zeppelin , Pink Floyd , Rush , I loved them , Every time I had Supertramp tickets I had a hard time finding someone to go with me !? But now as adults all my buddies from back then love Supertramp now ! I honestly believe maturity played a big part in that !? Not only did I love their sound because my mother played the piano and my father played the sax , But as a teenager there lyrics spoke to me like you wouldn't believe ! I have Supertramp tattoos , Every time Roger Hodgson comes to Saint Louis I'm there front and center !
Without trying to compare both bands but when I was a kid in 1975, Crime of the Century was almost on par with Dark Side of the Moon. Different bands. But what I grew up on. Thanks to my older brother Dave who introduced me to both .
That harmonica solo in the beginning gets me every time. It sounds like you're listening to 9 different songs in one, it's amazing how the transitions just surprise you over and over again. I first heard this track off that awesome Kristy McNichol movie "Little Darlings" and ever since it's stuck to me and introduced me to one of the best bands that I've ever heard in Supertramp. Super amazing!
One of their absolute best: as ever, the arrangement and production is impeccable, but this stands out for me because the Rick-Roger synergy is spot-on (where it's sometimes unequal), and I always like it when Roger plays electric, which he too seldom does. The following track Bloody Well Right is sort of a companion piece, and really needs to be listened to in tandem with.
Love this track. Back in the 70s every medium to high end stereo shop had this LP in the listening room. Nothing like hearing it blasted by a Pioneer SX-1280 through a huge set of Cerwin Vega speakers.
Love your reactions as you really listen and buy in to what the bands are doing and understand the effort involved in the production and techniques used. Supertramp are a great source for you to mine.
Thank you gentleman for listening, and learning and loving the music of my generation. This music will never die. I will bet that the likes of Kanye or Beiber will last as long as the the classic rock of the 70's.

I love it that y'all love it. And not just Supertramp's music, but others that you react to also. It's the genuine appreciation you guys feel for some of this classic music. Back in the 70s I got introduced to Supertramp music by this hot new girl that came to our high school. She told me they were her favorite band and I lied and told her they were mine too 😆 The only song I knew was Dreamer ,which I did like a little bit. I got a date with her so I bought Crime of the Century and Breakfast In America, which had just came out, on 8track to try to impress her. And it worked 😉 Been a huge fan of Supertramp ever since.
In 1974 I was shopping at Frog Island Records in Overland Park, Kansas when they started blasting this song. I still vividly remember how this song sounded completely different from anything I had heard before. Needless to say I couldn’t concentrate on anything else and immediately bought the album!
Until the reaction channels, I hadn't listened to Supertramp for a many years, but it's just like coming home, they're so good, good memories of the first discovery of them. Glad you guys really appreciate their genius.
You're still scratching the surface with these guys........they won't let you down. The real Crime of the Century is that they aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They are in good company NOT being in the RRHOF. Just ask Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. The RRHOF is a big JOKE.
@@mikeloomis687 - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke.
Preach brother!
Yeah, that's nuts
It's true that they will never let you down! They have been part of my life for 43 years. And I hope so for a long time to come.
The whole Crime of the Century is great!
Got the album when it first came out and cherish it to this day
L❤VE this one guy’s!
Tramp is one of the most underrated and ahead of their time bands of the 70's. Hands down of the Top 10 best bands of the 70's
They were brilliant!!!
The piano break in this song is everything.
Yes indeed
You can't help but want to move when the piano kicks in
Yeah, turn that shit up! Had a buddy that played this on his home stereo back in the day as loud as we could take it. Great intro

“These dudes are dope.” Yup.
Super dope
Top tier players, all of them.
GREAT REACTIONS GUYS..!!! 👏👏👏LUV WATCHIN A YOUNGER GENERATION GETTIN TURNED ON TO AGELESS MUSIC… ROCK ON 👊🖖
That entire album "Crime Of The Century" is worth listening to. Each song tells a different part of a story. What that story is can only be determined by the listener.
One of eight masterpiece songs from their masterpice album. Still fresh, still interesting, 49(!)years later
They would start their concerts with this song
I saw them open with “Hide In Your Shell” on two different tours. Any tune they choose works for me.
I love the drums rolls together with the piano, and then the piano solo explosion. Imo Crime of the Century was (by far) Supertramp's best album.
I wore out more than a few copies of this on vinyl. I think I first heard this in '75, hooked ever since.
I called the police to complain about you - and they arrested _ME_ !
Crime of the Century was criminally good.
EXCELLENT SONG DUDES 😅😊

They were classic rock, they were progy, they were creative musicians and they kicked ass!!!
The live version is spectacular!
Hands down my all time favorite Supertramp song. Still gives me goosebumps a half century later.
I could tell they had you at the "waka-waka" sound from the guitar.

Another great track from the Golden Age of Music - the 70s. Supertramp were part of the tapestry and School is a banger!
