Um, if I may ask, I know it's not the longest stretch, or the most dramatic section, it would seem, but what happened to the segment from Salorno to Bolzano?
I've quite enjoyed many of your videos postings, and I look for ward to more of them. Actually, one side of my Mom's family is Norwegian, so there's certainly a part of me that's happy to see you getting up into Scandinavia.
I also hope you'll continue with some of the other significant Alpine crossings you perhaps haven't covered yet. Probably the top of that list would be the Gotthard (from Chiasso north) and the Frejus (link between Italy and France via the Frejus Tunnel and the town of Modane).
Thanks again for your excellent work so far, and I hope you're able to keep it up.

Anyway, yeah, a technical issue had occurred to me, and I'm glad to see that confirmed. The gap in the trip certainly wasn't in line with the quality of work you've put forth thus far.
I'm playing a bit of catch-up on watching some of your videos. I'm most of the way through the 3 selections from North Macedonia, and I'll probably do the trip across Slovakia next. Then, I'll plan on tackling the Scandinavian material.

Something very strange? This track appears to be signaled for dual direction on each track but the number of cross over junctions is very small. On Swiss, Austrian, German railways there are leading and trailing pairs of cross junctions about 10km apart, for maintenance work, breakdown recovery, access to sidings and services allowed to pass, are missing on most of this route. This looks a lot like UK railways where leading cross junctions where avoided for safety reasons, (manual control and the locking was down to the strength of the signalman), so all cross junctions where trailing only, except at low speed (20mph), up to power control added. Good vid.

Since in South Tyrol there is the obligation of bilingualism (even the identity cards are different from those in use in the rest of Italy, except perhaps for what concerns the other Autonomous Provinces where there is the bi- or tri- language), it would also be useful to indicate the denomination in Italian of the various salient points of the itinerary.

I am really very disappointed that the southern access to the Brenner Pass, which will take you quickly from Munich to Verona in the future, runs almost exclusively in tunnels and you can no longer see the beautiful Eisack and Adige valleys.
And it doesn't matter whether you take the Sprinter, which runs from Innsbruck to Verona, or whether you take the normal long-distance train with stops in Bolzano, Trento and Rovereto.

    • @RailRelaxation

@@RailRelaxation Thank you. Here in the US railroads use "high-wide" detectors at locations with critical bridges and tunnels. They may use trip-wires, optical (laser) scanners, or both to alert for rolling stock, secured loads, or shifted loads that could be a clearance hazard. They are open structures more like what are used to support catenary on multi-track electrified lines. I assume the Brenner Pass structure is so substantial due to weather conditions, or that it may also include acoustic and infrared devices. Great video. I look forward to the rest of the trip.

@tecdesigns_arq Thank you very much for your feedback.
