The joke is just that the events taking place are degenerating well below the usual level of what they allow on the show, and they end it with a nice little reminder of who you can send your hate mail to XD
Jim Downey is playing Andy's father he has been an SNL writer since he showed up the same day that Bill Murray did and they even shared an office. The guy is a brilliant writer and probably wrote this sketch.
I would pay top dollar for a sketch comedy show exclusively starring Jonah hill and the 2008 SNL cast. The episode was way above average. Their senses of humor just meshed so well.
Me too! It's always the particularly gross, sexual ones, like the one where the Headless Horseman gets his head stolen by Ichabod Crane for oral sex purposes.
They are obviously fucking with Lorne Micheals at the end of the digital short full knowing that some people will find this offensive they then make sure Lorne is held accountable. Jokes within jokes which actually makes this feel more like classic SNL.
Yes, sure, some people may want a number of things. Making up layers to jokes is presumptive, pretentious and often quite wrong. In situations like this, people get offended at the -possibility- other people might be offended. It's ridiculous.
@@mcvcalvi Bill Hader is pretty good at facework and I like his delivery here but it falls flat, for me it ruins the bit. Oh so the punchline is just his dad's really promiscuous

One of the most random, yet brilliant SNL Digital Shorts that they've ever done. The first time I saw this I was laughing so hard I was weeping, just my god what an uncomfortable situation to be in if you're Andy Samberg lol.
The acting is superb, the actors learned their lines, and there is a realness to the scene. The fact that Andy played it so honest, the fact that Jonah played it so honest with no wink toward the camera is the genius of it all. The payoff though is the kiss and slipping the tongue haha.
Jim Downey! Man when he shows up on camera it's always rare but noteworthy (like his "we're all dumber" speech from Billy Madison). His commitment level is crazy here, but even crazier is that he's an SNL legend; head writer during IMO its peak years, there since the Bill Murray days.
It’s actually way funnier when everyone in the comments types out quotes from the video I just watched. Your delivery is so much better than professional comics
I don’t know why but I found myself oddly relieved upon googling this sketch & finding out that this isn’t Andy’s real life father. 😂 He’s a writer on the show who they got to play his dad. Such a bizarre sketch but so incredibly hilarious at the same time. 🤣👍🏻
+Avishek Yeah, youknow, I don't have anything against gay people kissing, but this was with the tongue hanging óut of the mouth and the thought that in the scenario, it was Andy's dad cheating on his mom with a younger guy just gave me cold chills throughout the video. Ugh.
