Mike. Thank you so very much for this excellent tutorial. I have had the too for a while and now I am confident I can time my 5 HP Evinrude ("Angler") 2 Stroke perfectly.
Hi Mike, it's the quick and easy way to sync the points but I figured out how to set them without one. If I ever pick up those tools will try it but for now just set them the way I have.
Hey Mike, I have an 1963 18hp seahorse. Motor just about starts to get the boat on plane, RPMs increase, then it cuts out. Do you happen to have a video for anything similar?
Do you set the points at the timing mark or set the points at the "Top" arrow aligned with the point wiper. Sorry, I asked this question earlier but it somehow showed up on day 2 rebuild. Love your videos. You have helped me make my 1964 Fastwin 18hp run like new!
Hi T-Mike. I am looking for a timing tool for my 1957 7 1/2 horse johnson. Do you sell this part? I did go on Richards sight but i could not find one for my motor. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good day
Enjoy your video description. Makes servicing much easier for these old motors. Kenneth Hood,Louisville KY

Great video! Clearly explained, nice clear camera footage. 👍💯🇺🇸
I was waiting for this video from you for so long.
A question when synchronizing the points with gauges in what position is the plate sped up or sped down thanks
Does not matter - watch the cam
Another great video. Thank you. Wish I could be your student lol
A awesome video Mike

Quick question. When the timing tool is in between the marks, would you then gap the points at .020? Great videos as always.
Yes
Thanks T-Mike. Awesome job!!

@@daytriprrr2533 it’s the same thing.
Would it be the same tool for a 5.5hp

Sorry. I do not. Good luck.
@@michaeljsimon Hi ok. Thank you for getting back to me! You have helped me in the past and thank you again for all your videos! Have a good day
Does it matter what position the mag plate is in?
I don’t think so but I put it wide open.
Can you do it without the timing tool?
