I so agree with you about those demons lurking around every corner. I have to cook for my husband and he’s one who listens to everything his doctor tells him and when he sees me eating my 4 slices bacon and 3 eggs he goes into his you’re heading for a heart attack speech so I wait until he goes for his daily walk b/4 I make my breakfast so I can eat in peace ☮️. I appreciate the heads up you’re sharing today🎉

Same problem here. She does not say things like that but is constantly eating the standard American diet and I have to see it and smell it. Pastries bread and candy still in the kitchen pantry. Three meals a day with in between snacks, the evening TV watching is accompanied by chips or popcorn or chocolate and wine or rum and Coke It never ends.😢

I find it helps to cook a couple of packs of bacon, put in a container and use for the week. I just zap it in the microwave or snack on it as needed.

@@vincentcasolaro This is the problem I have too. Sometimes I have to move the donut box out of the way to make my morning coffee. Physically picking it up is a killer. I may not eat it right then, but it sets me up for a feeling of deprivation later and that's what usually gets me.

Great video Mitch. My first week I had flu symptoms with fatigue and headaches. My weight loss hasn't been drastic but I am loosing weight and inches slowly but steady. Yes I see people saying all these pounds people lost in first few weeks and it wasn't me. My gut issues were getting better as first results. I don't count anything and I threw away my scale years ago because I would obsess with numbers in my previous lifestyle. I always go by how I feel and how I feel in my clothes because I don't care about weight numbers anymore 🙃. I'm going on 70 days now of strict carnivore and this is the first time I haven't had my chronic Inflammation and gut issues. This lifestyle is a true Blessing 🙌🙏 and I love your videos and honesty ❤. It took me years to get sick so I know it takes time to make ourselves healthy again. I have no cravings for the foods that made and kept me sick.

weight loss is important but not as important as the other health benefits. Yes, it does happen but it takes time for your body systems to heal. Carnivore is not really a weight loss diet. It is a way of life to be healthy. Agree with you about throwing the scale out...I did the same. I just keep feeling better and better. The goal is to NOT be sick as I head into my 70's!

Mitch is exactly right with this video. I started it to lose weight because nothing else was working. First attempt I gave up at 30 days because I was gaining. I thought there was something wrong with me because of all those comments about 4 day miracle cures. This time I was aware of an increase in energy by the second week so i kept going because I have a physical job and getting less tired. I have just passed the 6 week mark, no cheating at all. A few days ago I realized that the arthritis pain in my back and feet was just gone. I've lost about 5lbs but my weight has gone up and down although I feel so good that weight is no longer a priority. I was able to walk 5 miles last weekend, last month I was in pain at 2 miles. I been in pain for years, gradually getting worse. I've already had to reduce my hours at work because of it. Last week I added a couple of hours to my schedule so now making more money. I came from a couple of years of being keto and that fixed the sugar crashes but carnivore is a whole new level and I'll never go back. Excited to see how I'm going to feel after a year. I understand why Mitch makes these videos, I want to tell everyone lol.

my transformation was easy because I did it in a slow way: every 3 days I reduced 10% of the western food and increased 10% with carnivore, so it took me 30 days and I started 100% on my carnivore diet. no issues with my stool etc...

Mitch another great video. I have found that sometimes I may go a few days without a BM. I keep hamburger patties (meat Cookies)and bacon cooked up and in the refrigerator. My morning meal consist of either a lb of ground beef or bacon and three eggs. For dinner I have either a ribeye, chuck roast or hamburger steak. A perfect tour guide for Carnivores. I can’t clear my pantry of all the things I would like to due to others that drop by and others who visit for a weekend. You can and should ignore that food. That food will poison me and you. But, do put them away in the back of the fridge and if they call you … toss them immediately. You can show great courage as you are healing. Thanks Mitch for the list and reminders. You have inspired me! ❤️

    1) As Doc Berry says, "Take your Vitamin P" which means patience.
2)Yes, put the scale away and buy a tape measure.
3)I used to weigh and measure everything on keto. It was so liberating eating carnivore. Eating like a normal person.
    4) Eat meals not snacks. Yes, as the Gnoll Credo author, J. Stanton, used to say, "Eat like a predator, not like prey".
5)Carnivore Bars make a good portable meal while getting started. One bar is 6oz of fresh meat.
6)Tell all naysayers to take a flying leap. You don't need to explain or justify anything.
7)Yes, a full pantry/fridge clean-out is a good idea. Make a donation to a food bank if you can't stand being wasteful.
8)Fat is your friend long term. Salt is too but is really needed when first getting started. Prevents dizziness episodes.
9)Don't eat by the clock. Also don't fast by the clock. If you are watching the clock with white knuckles wondering, "Can I eat yet?", you are not ready for fasting yet. Eating less often will happen naturally over time.

I make my food and hers also. I can't believe how much water I drink now. From 1 or 2 bottles a week to 7 to 9 now. Eat till I'm comfortably numb on food. Lol biggest change is not drinking beer. Which surprisingly was very easy. Thanks Mitch for your advice. It's really appreciated. James

Hey Mitch. Still hanging in. Almost to my 90 days. I’ve stopped loosing weight and was a bit discouraged, but loosing weight wasn’t my main goal. So, I’m not concerned. Great advice, i love number 6, dont tell anyone ❤ i had a medical appointement yesterday at the local hospital. As it was close to lunch time, i brought my own carnivore lunch. I ate in the hospital canteen, i sat at a table along with other staff, and ate my home made ground beef hamburgers with butter, while all the nursing staff eat mostly high carb lunches. The food choices in hospitals is terrible. I wish i could tell them what to eat, as the majority were over weight, even though some of the plates were so called healthy food, not one plate had beef, its sad when you see medical staff eating unhealthy and the majority overweight, 😢 🥩🥩🥩🥩❤❤❤❤

When I am hungry, I go to the frig and eat a slice of cooked bacon that is kept there for those times. If I run out of bacon or fatty beef I go get some more immediately. PLAN for the next meal. Good list. I ran into the low fat issue early on. For whatever reason (likely all the fearmongering BS we all heard for decades), I was gun-shy and kept skipping opportunities to add in extra fat and keep myself satiated. Around two months or so in, it hit me that this was why I frequently felt hungry and tired.
Ever since, I’ve been getting a nice helping of either sausage or bacon every morning and cooking my second meal in tallow and then spooning the drippings over the meat. Problem solved.

Hi Mitch. Sounds like good advice.
But it's a nutritional jungle out there. I've been just doing a loose 50 gm, low carb diet. For the record, here are my 1st, one year labs: 73 yo M., a sagging 5'11, 230 at heaviest. I was diagnosed with HBP, pre-diabetes, and was 50 lbs over-weight, one year ago. Just got labs. Glucose- 97, chol. way up to 274, Trigs 59, Hdl-87, Ldl way up- 178, Insulin- 2.6, A1c- 5.2 from 5.8[prev. 6.4].
So I have reversed my diabetes, lost 50 lbs, starting from day1, and am doing a 2 wk test to get off the lisinopril and thiazide, just by cutting out out the heavy carbs and replacing them with mostly cooked vegetables. Funny but I''ve probably eaten more veggies in the last year than I ever have- on a meat-based diet- all, without any exercise.
My take-away as of now: You can eat junk-food most of your life until the carbs catch up with you. But it doesn't have to end that way. You can reverse all these conditions by cutting all the carbs. So maybe it's all good in the end. Good health to one and all. I'll be watching.

THANK YOU MITCH! I do have a quick question… I see all these people complaining about weight loss stalls on carnivore… do you think it’s possible that some are confusing the “eat all the meat you want” and continue to binge on these foods? Aka pork rinds cereal and bacon? I just saw a video where the influencer ate a whole pizza topping from Sam’s Club with at least 4 hotdogs and can’t figure out why he’s stalling… please make a video on your thoughts as I’m getting super confused. Thank you again for your honesty!

    • @OldGuyCarnivore
      @OldGuyCarnivore  6 месяцев назад +1

The human body does not want to lose weight, which is energy in the bank. Stalls happen when the body panics and shuts off weight loss for a period of time. It will resume eventually. Some even gain a few pounds before starting to lose again. This is normal and expected! Eat when hungry, stop when satisfied, and let your body do what it needs to do.

Omg Mitch. I so agree with the clock. I had issues with programmed eating times. Now getting away from that but i do intermittent fasting and eat 2 meals within 4 to 6 hours. Sometimes I'm really not that hungry but figure I should eat in my time frame otherwise I won't get anything after times up. Wonder if that stalls weight loss. And if I should just eat when I'm hungry and forget the intermittent fasting?

    • @OldGuyCarnivore
      @OldGuyCarnivore  6 месяцев назад

I think the intermittent fasting is the way to go and I'm on pretty much the same schedule as you. You will lose weight.

In order to answer your question I'd have to write a book. I have many videos covering all these questions already, but to quickly summarize I pretty much eat the same thing every day, about 2 to 2 and 1/2 lb of food, mostly bacon eggs and beef, I eat two meals, late morning and mid-afternoon. I shoot for 60 to 70% of my calories from fat. Hope that helps

I accidentally lost weight on the carnivore diet. I did not go on carnivore to lose weight. I went on it because I was tired of shitting bricks. Sorry but I don’t know how else to say it. I did lose 25 pounds as a side benefit. Not sure how long it took because I never weighed myself.

I have a terrible time getting enough fat in my diet. I know I need it. I understand it but I just don't like fat or butter. I get sick when I push myself. I do eat some every day but not enough to account for 60-70% of my daily intake. But I am trying to increase it daily. Not giving up. (I have history of gallbladder problems), and too much butter or grease starts the pain. Hopefully this will get better. Started carnavore Feb 5th.

This not eating enough ..... I just don't know how to gauge it.
Today I was already full after eating 3 tiny sausages with a bit of butter. That's enough for probably again a full day. Settled into OMAD without any problems or any forcing. But, why eat when I'm not hungry?
I just started (second month now) and, I am obese, maybe the body starts to break down body fat for nourishment? Don't know, but, I'll continue using "'I'm hungry" as a cue to eat. Don't care too much about the rest.

They sell meat everywhere. Go to a burger place and get three or four quarter pound patties, go to a barbecue place and get pulled pork or brisket by the pound. Steakhouses are good. Bacon and eggs anywhere.
