The biggest oversight with Johnny not being set as related to the langraabs is he got married to Nancy and had kids with her thanks to neighborhood stories in my game 💀 the game doesn't recognize them as relatives so they can romance his parents and brother 😭🤢
I really hope they fix that eventually, especially since they also finally fixed Morgan's pronouns a bit ago
Yep. I’ve pointed this out a few times, including to one of the gurus on (what was) twitter. It’s one of the biggest things I was hoping to see fixed in a townie refresh. When it happens, as long as I’m not playing with any of them directly, I just ignore it and head canon that Johnny is the son of a different Nancy and Geoffrey Landgrabb and is actually like a very distant 6th cousin to the Nancy and Geoffrey living in Oasis Springs in game and that both branches of the family used the same names is a coincidence. Lalallalala I do not see what the game is doing…

I'm hoping that when the Landgraabs get their makeover (EA: get on the makeovers please) that they update the family tree & relationships. I always imagine him have red bars with his mom, zero relationship with his brother (as if he was kicked out & they had a replacement child) and a tinge of green bar with his dad... like his dad takes him for dinner every now & then & Johnny has just kinda accepted than his dad is a bit of a spineless noodle & Nancy controls him but that Johnny loves his dad & would like to have a relationship with his little brother someday & his dad is his only shot at that.
I'd also like for them to give Johnny a girlfriend. Not someone he lives with, but someone he's casually seeing or something.
I'd also love for Brent & Brant to get an update.
Might I suggest “bundle” builds? Since EA has a discount for getting and expansion, game, and stuff pack? Do a randomizer and pick one of each, then do builds with those?
i don't think ea still offers bundles
They do still offer bundles and it is still a expansion game and stuff pack I would never of thought to do that good idea for people who don’t have many packs because people could comment combinations and your not likely to comment a combo that you don’t own 😊
@@luciacastille I know that if you already own all of one of those categories it won’t let you. And they really need to replace stuff pack with stuff pack or 2-3 kits

Not only the columns and the curtains, but those single showers from University is super useful! But if you don't have the pack, the only showers available are those box showers. I've honestly contemplated buying the kit for that shower (but ended up deciding on the similar one in Snowy Escape because the furniture is better). Should definitely be base game.
Yeah its great because you can make a functional 4x4 bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet

honestly is would be so great if the sims did a “basics” update (or kit, if they aren’t feeling generous) and had a bunch of typical/necessary furniture in solid/neutral colors (black, white, beige, navy, green, (light) pink, etc.). like you said, curtains, rugs, but also couches, chairs, desks, kitchen cabinets, BEDS, stuff like that
yeah, also it would be great if they added the holiday pack furniture to the basegame bc it's free anyway and it's nice to have builds classed as basegame only bc show owned doesn't really work that well...
kind of reminds me of dream home decorator.... i wish they would do this though!
That Get Together column is my favorite item of the whole game. It literally goes in every single build I do!
Kayla did you know Oasis Springs is based off of Palm Springs in California? And in Palm Springs they have the big dinosaurs! I was shocked that it looked exactly like the sims

That’s so fun! I think I read about it in English class a few months ago and it reminded me so much of oasis springs but I had no clue that oasis springs was really based on Palm Springs! And the dinosaur detail is so fun too!!

It would be like Blue Surban Basics, a bunch of stuff in usable plain/neutral shades (& of course a blue) that could be used in every world. Rugs, curtains, columns, maybe some plain beds, etc. I would love that soo much.

I always interepreted Johnny as being from a different branch of the Landgraab family, since it's consistently established throughout Sims lore that there's a lot of them spread out through the Sims world.

Simsie!! This build is an awesome way to show xeriscaping!!! Is using native plants that fit the ecosystem requirements of that area. Like in a desert, you would have cacti or aloe Vera instead of grass or turf like you said! Love the build!
I feel like Simsie is more relaxed and chill in recent videos! She used to worry herself so much about repeating designs or using many packs, which made me sad...but I think in recent videos, she's having more fun and less stressing about minute details! Which is so great to see!!
there's a sim that someone (i forget who) uploaded that has all of the cas unlockables up to high school years, you can just add them to your household and remove them & you'll have everything unlocked!! simmers are so awesome man
My big save file that I reuse for new games, I edited the Landgrabb family to fix the family tree and then had Johnny get in an epic fight with both Nancy and Geoffrey before moving him back to his trailer.
I kinda forgot Kayla has a whole body and isn’t just her upper body 😭

That short plain end table that was added to base game a couple months ago is one of my favorite end tables. its so cute and has good swatches
Stone landscaping, the small pebbles irl looks really good in the desert. In AZ and CO I saw it a lot. It works well in place of grass and as far as I know it’s eco friendly.
3:44 Kayla should do another build where she just collects all those random ideas chat has to put them into a build, trying to make it look good.

Honestly I think, personally, this is one of your best builds! First I love orange! It''s my favorite color! Not this particular shade, mine is pretty specific but the alternative colors together! Sold. I need to download it. I have only ever downloaded shells and community lots but you sent me on a new mission with this house! Also I'm gonna cheat Johnny so he can afford it and pick out his own legacy!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you SO MUCH that base game needs more 'plain and basic' build mode items, i don't understand why everything has to be so... patterned? like in my house, we don't have a single patterned item of furniture/rugs/wallpaper etc they're all just basic colours that match - which actually, is also something we don't have in sims!!!! I'd love for a refresh that just adds matching swatches to all items in game. Every item should have matching swatches anyway but most items don't and it makes building so hard because I've got like 3 different wood colours and 3 different shades of another colour in one room
I know some people like fancy patterns and swatches etc etc but personally, I'd love for more plain and basic stuff and stuff with it that actually matches. That's the real sims 4 pipe dream
your points about people not watching sims youtube and therefore not knowing all of these things are extremely true! i think sometimes EA forgets people are casual players, who SO are close to being serious players if they understood more the game had to offer!
There's a very specific thing that annoys me in The Sims 4 and it is this: when you go into build mode and you see the little example items in the build catalogue, there should be, _at minimum,_ one item that _looks like the example_ in the base game. How are you gonna use a square column as the example column in the build catalogue and then not give everyone that column? How are you gonna use a basic picket fence as the icon in the build catalogue that _represents fences_ and then not have anything in the base game that looks like that? (Most of the basegame fences don't look like fences at all. They're almost all just railings.)
I 100% support making that Get Together column basegame. And the backyard stuff picket fence.
i LOVE making desert houses, I make mine mostly orange, dark blue, and gray. I’m currently re-making all of the worlds I have (starting with the empty world) and I CANT wait to build in the desert world! I already made a house in there lol I made it for a single mom and her two boys, ones a teen and the other is an infant.

That GT column? I use it in nearly every build I do. It's the best one, they need to make it base game or make on just like it with ALL the newer colours they've been using lately.

If lilsimsie got to design her own kit, it would be a "Back to Basics" kit with plain columns, solid colored curtains and rugs, plants with white and black pots, clean white tile, bookcases with lots of clutter slots to customize, etc.
And every item would have a pretty blue swatch 😂

They HAVE to make that column Base Game. It’s not even like it’s a Tudor-style item. It’s one of the most basic items in the game
I actually really love this house so much ❤️ Its so simple but still very homey, and it also feels sort of realistic in a sense?? Like the sim who lives here bought lost of their furniture and whatnot from the same place-since all of the items come from nearly the same pack. Anyway, I’ll definitely be downloading this off the gallery
Basic Blues Kit:
•Collab kit with simsie
•Comes free for all players that have bought any dlc as a thank you, otherwise a regular kit
•update before puts get together columns in base game and adds swatches to base game siding and tile wallpapers as well as the basic 2-simoleon walls that no one ever uses cause they have horrid swatches
•All items have matching neutral swatches, plus a few muted colors (including, of course, blue)
Comes with:
•a simple, modern bed with base game wood swatches and a few bedspread variants (including a plain white) that has a single-bed, toddler-bed, and crib variant
•a solid-color rug with matching swatches in all size variants
•simplistic, modern curtains with separated curtain rod
•a couple new built-in wardrobes, all 2-tile
•a simple, frame-less mirror that can be moved around to any height
•a desk, desk chair, and desktop computer that are all realistic and contemporary
•a basic, versatile art print with varying swatches and different frame colors
•a simple ceiling fan with a light on it as an ode to florida
My work here is done. Now the sims team just needs to see this.

That debug comment is so true cause eco-lifestyle was my first pack and I didn’t know anything lol😂. So my first builds were lacking until I found cheats and was so confused on why I never saw so many cute ítems before debugging it. I always expected debugs to be free too so I thought I was trippin for a second.

The only way I know to unlock all the CAS stuff is by pulling the SC_Admin unlock sim off the gallery; but you are correct that's not something the average sims player would EVER know existed as an option.

Been playing the sims since since it came out (I was 11!) but never bothered learning any cheats aside from the very basic ones until about a year ago lol.
I'm surprised you didn't use Desert Deluxe kit for this one! Most people get that as a free kit anyway 😅

I just want to chime in and say that in the desert there is SO MUCH foliage, at least where I grew up! There's lots of sand, rocks, and natural desert plants like ironwood and palo verde trees, cacti, aloe, other succents, and lots of dry bushes. And a lot of houses and community lots grow green grass and fill it with the suburban foliage that you're more used to using. So I'd like to say, please feel free to go crazy with plants! Tbh it looks a little strange when there aren't many plants.
I would love to see you do an entirely CAS decorated house where you can find all of your dream items like your plain rugs and curtains and see what you come up with!!

I love the house. I used to think I wanted the biggest houses for my Sims but then it became too hard to maintain if I wanted to redecorate and it would take my Sims forever to go somewhere in the house and you can lose track of them so now I like my houses smaller. lol. You're such a talented builder.
