It's funny how Kayla doesn't normally do black and white builds but whenever she starts making a modern house her instinct is to make everything black and white
We've had so many kits yet we haven't got a Starter Home KIT. Imagine a build/buy kit with several new and cheap starter objects. I'm thinking about a new bed, closet, cheap decor, perhaps a new cheap TV, a coffee table that's DIY. DIY bookcase, ... It would be a fun kit
especially if the furniture was kind of like... worn? i love the secondhand kitchen appliances that came with city living and i wish there was more stuff like that. cheap furniture that looks nice but is less effective than the expensive stuff and is kind of worn and old looking
I would suggest no one use debug glasses and plates in your builds, at least not in a build you intend anyone to play with. Either they're accessible, and your Sim will automatically clean them and they'll disappear. Or they're not accessible, and they start smelling in game and upsetting your Sims.
I ruined one of my households by doing this :( The sims were so upset about the filthy surroundings and not being able to clean up. I couldnt delete the cupcake trays or plates I had put in the pantry, so RIP to that house I spent so much time on.
This is beautiful! And I feel like you barely scraped the surface of what can be done using Debug items. I always see the most stunning builds using no CC no packs and debug and I know the time and dedication it took and I'm blown away.
I honestly love when Kayla gives essentially a "light tutorial" whenever she makes these types of build. As someone who plays a lot of Sims4 but has a difficult time building so i dont do them often. Its nice to get these reminders as tips and tricks whenever i decide to dabble in build mode. 😅😅
omg I love how the little condiments on the shelf in the kitchen are from the cooking animation! it's honestly so cool that you can find all the things that are only ever shown in animations too in debug, so so good for clutter!
I'd suggest everyone be careful with debug clutter, at least if you intend to play the game. Debug plates and cups will start smelling, or get cleaned up by your Sim immediately. Debug pumpkins from Cottage Living are super cute, but will rot. It can be confusing sometimes what's causing your Sims to be miserable too.
I love how you make such a point out of making builds for people who only own base game or a limited number of packs. I feel like I've spent so much money on the sims 4 and even though i probably own more packs than the average person, theres still so much i don't have, especially with these kits! Thank you for providing us with great builds and helping us to become better builders, you are appreciated :)
She seems to prefer what I view as traditional New England/Mid-west styles. But as someone who grew up in very traditional old homes, I am so sick of long dark winters with tiny old windows. A modern home with huge windows sounds so nice. 😆 I'm not sure I'm up for Florida (did you know their cockroaches FLY????) but I'm sure there's some "grass is greener" going on here.
I built 64 tiles micro home, trying to do it in cottage style (imagining grandma lived there), backyard with grill and planter boxes... And it was not cute and cost 27K💀 So i amazed by how you can built such beautiful houses for cheap
This reminds me of all the decor and styling of homes being built these days. Like a cookie cutter modern starter, and it looks really good. I would love to see more lilsimsie modern builds.
I can’t imagine how nasty that skylight above the stove would get from the food and stuff cooked. 😂 love the different styling and constraints you have yourself.
this is my first comment on your channel, but i wanted to say i appreciate the content you release so much each day… the way you talk in your videos feels like i’m just chatting with a friend, you are so lovely i wish i could meet you in real life, lots of love from England! 💕
When I heard the first part, I immediately thought of the Simmer Anaire3 (I think that's their user) and a couple of other ones who I forgot their users, but I have seen so many starter homes that literally look like they're over 70k simoleans! It's crazy how creative some people are, especially with the concrete flooring (the coloured one that a lot of people use as tiles or rugs) and all the different patterns that they use. I saw one the other day that was literally a suburban home with two stories, fully furnished (cheap furniture but it looked really good on the inside) and it was only 17k something simoleans! It's wild how talented some Simmers are!
I love that you make base game builds that are accessible to everyone! However, I was wondering what kind of starter home you could make using any packs you want, because I'm sure there are different things that are a little cheaper in the other packs that could be fun to explore! Love you and your content, and this build is fabulous (as always)!
It's true, things like doors and windows were way more expensive in base game, particularly the modern options. Back when Dream Home Decorator still kind of worked, I'd decorate the Spencer-Kim home often, and if I ever needed extra money in a budget, I'd just replace all their big base game windows with Eco Lifestyle ones. Looks even cuter, and so much cheaper.
Yeah, building with all packs is SO much cheaper than just base game! The first thing I do when I want to save money is delete any base game items, lol.
When you said "this is NOT fully furnished", I was thinking "but it is EA-furnished!" (It reminded me of the level you had to scale back to build the starter home for Growing Together.)
I love Kayla and her builds, and I also love how she makes everything usable for every sims player. BUT…I would like to see her use more packs every now and then
i don’t comment at all, but i watch your vids everyday and they are a really good part of my day. i feel my day is complete when i watch a video of yours so thank you so much!
Video idea or even a video series idea: not sure if you’ve played the game unpacking (you should if you haven’t), but since you’re a builder it would be cool to see that game concept in the sims. Start with a child’s bedroom (the rest of the house doesn’t really matter, but have some unique items in the kids room to follow him/her through life). Tell the sim characters life story through several builds. Child’s room (could even do a shared bedroom to their own room as they become a teen), moving into their first place with roommates or on their own, living with a partner, moving back home after the breakup, getting married and having kids, having the kids move out and become a grandparent, whatever character story you wanted to tell. I think it would be awesome though to see how you decide to tell a sims life story through just your builds and not actual gameplay.
I love the builds you do and I have an idea for a get rich quick video. So you know that decor box from season in the Sims 4? Well if you rummage for decorations you can go into build mode and sell those items that your sim got out! I do it with my short lifespan sims.❤ I hope you find this useful for a video! ❤ your channel!
In the wall building tool, one of the options (where you switch between full and half walls) is for half wall trims. From memory, it's the third option. From there you can choose the style and colour, similar to wallpapers.
If anyone is getting sick of entering two cheats and sorting through debug forever: the mod BetterBuildBuy will SAVE YOU. It makes debug available by checking a box in the filters, and sorts debug into categories so you can find it by scrolling through categories rather than typing in “debug” and scrolling through all of debug in its entirety!! Has saved me so much time!!
BBB is an amazing mod but I wish it was separated into packages like MCCC where you can choose to install only the parts you want rather than everything. I don't really use debug enough to keep that side installed all the time but I LOVE the specific kit filters and TM doesn't have that as a standalone mod like some of the other features.
Ain't gonna lie, i'm really bothered by the fact the only door to the only bathroom in the house is in the bedroom. could you imagine having any number of guests come over, including people you don't know very well have to walk through your bedroom to use your bathroom? no thank.
Hi Kayla, so I have been watching your videos for a while now and I have a really fun video idea. You should do a build we’re each room is a different complementary color on the color wheel so one room would be green and red and another would be blue and orange
Not many people know this and I don't think Kayla knows but the Realm of Magic windows have a plan black and white swatch without the patterns, they are the last 2 swatches on all the windows Yes, I know this is a base game build but I thought I'd mention if some people didn't know
when i was first starting out in the sims, i had made a 3 person family and i started to decorate their house but i didnt know any cheats so i didnt have that much money to do it and it ended up looking a bit weird as a sacrifice to save money. i also didnt know that you needed at least one empty counter to be able to cook properly, so i was trying to make food for the toddler but neither of the moms did and it didnt tell me why so the toddler ended up being taken away. i quit without saving and then the house was only half done, but i didnt play that house for a while because of the money. of course, when i found the money cheats, you could probably guess that i typed the word motherlode a lot that day (ps you can copy and paste motherlode in case you didnt know)
I was wondering if the bedroom would ever get a dresser or something ^^; Looked a bit empty without it. Otherwise a great video!! Really enjoyed the dark brown floor, it looked way better than everything-black at the start
The possibilities in debug are not endless. Do you know what debug doesnt have? That stupid little well from oasis springs where you can look for frogs! I want the tiny well!! Why cant I have it, EA? I'm genuinely so upset
I know Kayla doesnt use many mods, but isnt there one that helps you keep the debug catalog in order? I remember her showing it in a video. Why doesnt she use it, i dont understand

All of my current builds are in black and white ^^;
Channeling her inner James Turner formally known as the sims supply
She does this with every build lol
Off top but I love your pfp
Smoke alarm at 75 - too expensive. Rug at 800 - sold! Love it
Maybe if the smoke alarm was a bit cuter 😅
I mean smoke alarm kinda useless anyway and not very cute
We're making salad until payday
ironic how simsie' modern houses are always good and in my opinion she's really good at making them
Agreed.
How is that ironic?
@@horseluver4ever623 Simsie generally doesn't like doing modern houses, and it's definitely outside of her comfort zone.
@@horseluver4ever623 it's ironic because she always complains about her modern builds while everyone else is obsessed

Honestly, I love watching lilsimsie's videos when I'm drunk. I don't understand anything, but I just enjoy the vibes

Literally like I sit down and get high to her vids it's so chill😭

If you hold down shift while adjusting the roof overhang, it will only change that section of roof. 😊
I love houses with dark exteriors in the Sims, though I can never pull them off myself.
The trick is lots of landscaping and a creative interpretation of the word “matching” 😅
