You dont even need friends to play the game, just dont play in difficulties 8 or 9. None of ky friends play this game, i can do up to difficulty 7 just fine with random people. This guy just sucks.
Super samples spawn by a tall rock with white "veins" they ONLY spawn on 6+ difficulties. Calling down the pelican asap can be okay. The pelican will remain on the helipad until the mission timer is over or until a player enters. Then it starts a 20 second timer. So the random might just be getting the defense out of the way while he still has his strategems while he waits on you guys to find your samples. You should also be clearing sample locations while you move towards the objective and should drop at the start in an "out of the way" location so you dont have to track over there.
Ive seen this arguement a few times with games. "I've played this game so much im burnt out" is something that happens, but the game definitely isnt dead, only dies when they stop makeing major orders.

Helldivers gives me the same rush cause its not about memorizing boss patterns and repetition (at least for me). I join and play with randoms all the time I love this game lvl 78 as of right now. I understand the burn out but man this game is way better than call of duty zombies. I hate games like overwatch,cs2,valorant, etc because I'm not good and I will always get my ass kicked. With Helldivers it's people vs AI so I have better chances. Also my personal opinion - with these 5 vs 5 i never get the feeling of playing together with others. everybody is just running around to get the most kills, nobody wants to play support because no kills then. esp with cod i feel like everyone just wants to show how "good" they are. In Helldivers I run into problems and my teammates will soon be there to help. everybody is working for the main goal. so I'm gonna stick to helldivers for a long time.

Not all are promising or certain but if we be patient long enough and avoid burning ourselves out, we might get some real fun eventually. Pro tip: when you check your map, itl'll tell how many of what samples are in that mission area on the top of your screen. Should be right under your mission timer

tbh i just wish super credits where more common, i dont want to pay for sc yet but most of the content is locked behind it which kinda made me less attached to the game since i have no progression. besides that i still find it fun to play from time to time
Can't call it a dead game based on your personal perspective. The only real reason they lost players is because Sony made a horrible business move that pissed off a lot players (myself included). The game currently has 55k daily helldivers. Another few updates and that playerbase will surely grow. The game is not perfect but you can't deny it's fun value. Buried beneath all the bugs and optimisation issues is a really fun game. Given how much support and attention devs are giving it, i trust those issues to be addressed in future updates.

bro you are playing on low difficulties if you had some common sence you would notice on the bottom of the screen in the mission difficulty select it shows what sample you can get on set difficulty
