Same for hulks and factory striders. I swear spawn rates vary from like 50% to 300% between missions of the same difficulty. It just makes no sense whatsoever.
They 100% have dyslexic programmer who codes backwards. If they say it's 30% less iys 30% more. The new melee armor is worse at melee than standard in my experience.
you know what might be good? if the eagle defaulted to air-to-air whenever eagle stratagems weren't being used. so if you don't bring any, it'll always target flying enemies, and whenever you call down an eagle stratagem or re-arm, it'll do that instead of the air-to-air. this would indirectly balance the orbital-eagle stratagem divide and give us more to think about when using our stratagems.
@@robertshmurda What skills? This isn't a level mmorpg. We got guns and 2 legs. These new changes are forcing us to bring specific weapons which ruins their whole argument of "we don't want meta builds".
Mostly is because they lack skill and communication. Also, that most of randos go full 'tard when the diff is higher and believe me that diff 9 becomes too hectic for most randos to think clearly.
OhDough's list of complaints in this video, in order: - Recoilless Rifle takes 25% longer to reload. - Gunship Patrols/leads to limited variety of weapons you can bring to deal with them. - Charger Behemoth spawn rates. - Arc Thrower/weaker weapons useless simply because Behemoth's exist. - Newest buffs irrelevant because not every weapon can deal with heavily armored enemies. - unintentional Recoilless Rifle/E.A.T. damage bug/reload speed. - bots/bug hunters seemingly more accurate. - doesn't like bullet flinch and weapon sway, compared to enemy accuracy. - packing methodology upgrade broken. - Amount of Patrols heavily increased. - "Gunship Patrols shouldn't exist". - HMG shouldn't have two reloads and only 75 ammo. - Realism shouldn't matter in this game. - Support weapons should be top fun balance priority over strategems/primary weapons. - Railgun should pierce enemies. Personally, I agree with several of his points, but disagree with a few of his proposed changes. Overall I share the same sentiment that spawn rates are insane, and support weapons need some more love in order to deal with the increased quantity of heavy armored enemies.
A lot of his complaints all boil down to "the hardest difficulty (helldive) is now too hard". It's... supposed to be. That's the point. He also ignores that probably 75%-90% of players don't play on Helldive. A lot of the balance changes were primarily for lower difficulties. There are some good points though.
Many of the complaints are simply not valid and very narrow minded from him, tbh it feels like he tunnel visions alot of these takes. -Recoiless rifle as far as i can tell is no different from comparing to the footage i have from the older patch. -Auto cannon, anti material rifle, any medium armor pen weapon, HMG 75 ammo, auto cannon sentry, missile sentry, HMG emplacement, quasar, energy laser cannon, plasma weapons are all a few examples that can deal with gunships easily when you shoot them in the engines. Also the gunship stats have not been touched, you have to keep shooting at anything bot related to make sure their accuracy stays low (something about overwhelming their targeting systems) -Charger behemoths only spawn on higher diffs, dont like em? dont play higher difficulty then. Bring stratagems/gear to deal with them appropriately. -His take on the arc thrower is hilarious, the arc thrower is mainly a weapon for dealing with hoards, the arcing ability it has is amazing for bug breaches and patrols, its not mainly used for heavy armor units. -Again a very silly take from him, not every weapon is supposed to deal with heavy armor, also most heavy armor units have weak spots.....something he seems to avoid like the plague. -Again ive not noticed or seen said bugs -enemy accuracy was not changed, simply keep firing at the bots and their accuracy is crap and strafe bug vomit sprays correctly. -dont like weapon sway? well damn its almost like there are armors that help reduce that, what are you supposed to do when shot? not react at all lol? -As far as im aware the packing methodology was fixed, its been working for me and my friend group correctly. -You can choose to avoid patrols %60+ of the time, you do not need to fight every patrol. Also there is a mission modifier stratagem to reduce patrols lol, for me the patrols are near the same, ive only noticed more patrols of smaller enemies like hunters and normal bots. -L take from him, it is a welcome addition -The HMG has huge rounds, hence why it has only 2 reloads, other MG weapons have more ammo due to smaller rounds. The HMG has immense damage potential when you aim it properly, set it to the lowest fire rate and take your time aiming, it can absolutely slap ever bot and kill hulks very fast when you shoot them in the eye (only needs 4 shots i believe) -Semi-realism is a part of the game, he needs to accept that. its not going away. -they are fun and are ultra powerful in game.....hell the support weapons win missions alot of the time lol -This is the only point i somewhat agree with him on, would be neat to see it pierce through medium armor enemies to a point., So many of his takes and assumptions are terrible.....the devs of helldivers understand the game 10000000 times more than he ever will.
i think this bugged out somewhere in the enemies to spawn queue, they said they implemented behemoths to replace multiple normal chargers at once in higher dificulties but it feels like they are just spawning together and not substracting the enemy spawn tokens or something because of how common they are
@@jevmenyt3422that's what I feel everytime they say they balanced the spawns. It was never reduced. Just added to with mind trickery to make us think it was lessened by making more of the others appear.
Yup. One of many reasons from this update to not play in it's current state. Social tab being broken so I can't play with people I usually play with so till that's fixed, I ain't playing.
It's just sad at this point. They had a whole month to work on this patch and they let a bug that prevalent slip through. How the fuck do they not notice an entire ship upgrade not working? AGAIN?
Flying patrols are a bugged operation modifier that isn't displaying properly. The increased patrol numbers are another unintentional bug, as is the recoilless rifle reload (both confirmed by devs).
The ragdolls in this game are getting ridiculous. If I barely take damage from a rocket, I shouldn't get launched 20 m into the air. If I'm behind hard cover and take zero damage from an explosion on the other side of the cover, I shouldn't be thrown back 15 m out of my cover. If I'm thrown to the ground by _anything,_ don't force me to stand up as slowly as your local centenarian. Let me stay prone and quickly shoot or stim, or let me get up as quickly as if I had deliberately been prone.
i constantly get flung 5km from the map just for stumbling on geometry, airtime is so long that i may as well quit and rejoin instead of waiting for the orbital cannon to kill me it's not enjoyable when you do respawn and lost your equipment you were carrying very tough gear that takes an eternity to call down again
At least twice now I've been launched so hard I literally get fling outside of the map (though it wasn't by explosives, but rather hellpods landing near me)
They definitely raised the non optimal TTK tho, durable damage buffs make it easier to kill things without hitting the weak spots perfectly or with anti tank, 2 shooting a behemoth charger isn't bad takes 2 shots for bike titans or hulks/tanks 🤷♂️
@@verestoyjanos5013 That's assuming the values are at what they said they would be. Arrowhead have shown us time and time again they legitimately cannot be taken at their word when it comes to weapon buffs.
@@verestoyjanos5013lmao its not. The durable damage buff we get still isnt enough to shooting the abdomen of, well, anything! Just do the math yourself. For chargers were talking 79 bullets to 53 with a lib! Wowza! Not doing that.
Armor type NEEDS to affect flinching and ragdolling. Side note on ragdolling, if I dive and get hit by a rocket midair, I DON'T WANT TO SLOWLY STAND BACK UP AFTERWARDS.
Speaking of ragdolling, sometimes when I ragdoll I don't even get up. There also seems to be a lot of input delay for things like grenades and stims, is it just me?
@@Reader99220 You are 100% correct, just happened this morning to me. Was literally screaming at my guy to get up after eating a rocket and being swarm. i'm not sure about the delay but i know stims will make its activation sound and animation but if you're hit even a millisecond after the sound it wont heal you. So I suppose its a slight delay at least between sound/animation and application
@@agedgouda8809 Yeah, ragdolling would be fine if you had a consistent time to get up. Sometimes the physics just bugs and you take 3x as long to recover.
@@Reader99220 With the new patch I've been ragdolled into the terrain more often now then before the patch against bots. They made the rockets a little too accurate.
The bullet flinch is the main reason I hate playing Automatons. The Autocannon already has a super slow aim and heavy kickback. So im just missing half my shots from getting shot at...
I’m still gonna be playing the game after this patch but I must say, try out the ballistic shield against the bots paired with the AMR. Shooting the engines on gunships will take them out with the amr, you can hit the machine guns and hatches on a factory strider and you can shoot the hulk faceplates. Thus, it’s fine to run the amr meaning you have an open backpack slot with the shield, combined with the defender and pummeler, and you have a full on build. However, apparently there’s a glitch with the ballistic with the new patch which means I’m gonna have to temporarily switch to a different bot build and I wouldn’t suggest trying my build until they fix the issue.
But, when it isn’t glitched, running the ballistic with the explosion resistance armor (I run the enforcer armor; medium - heavy hybrid) is a great way to counter heavy devs, rocket devs (to a degree with the armor), chaff, along with your amr being able to kill every high lvl enemy on the bot side when hitting the correct spots. Side bonus, that specific armor makes you two shot to the land mines the bots have. Also, the whole reason I reccomended my build under circumstances where it isn’t glitched to you is that the shield allows you to negate bullet flinch and counter heavy devs which are pretty damn annoying a lot of the time.
Try using the Quasar since nerf🤦🏽 The only way to consistently get shots off is too shoot from very far(Bots have aimbot so that doesn't work that all the time)or just fight bugs only🤷🏽♂️
I was wondering about that the other day too, stuff is so needlessly complicated that it warrants a whole rework. Like, imagine being someone who just plays the game every now and then for fun and doesn't really watch youtube videos and guides, then you log into the game one day and read in the patch notes that your favorite weapon got "Increased projectile damage against durable body parts from 7.5% to 25%". Like... just pause for a second and think about how that reads to the average player, that's just straight up crazy, in just a couple months they reached a level of needless complexity and clustering weird systems that other games take almost a decade to reach. The devs really gotta take one step back, get a bird's eye view on the whole thing and rework it from the ground up pretty much. Not to mention this damage system makes it even harder for them to balance the game, which they aren't even very proficient at to begin with.
i think its not as complicated as people make it out to be, it's definitely not simple tho but it's kinda easy to get the hang of it once you understand it
@@giraffeorganic that was shown on a devs stream on discord a couple months ago. The guys were completely clueless, they got absolutely smoked on a diff 6 vs the bugs, I'm talking about wasting entire magazines of their primary against a charger's armor level of cluelessness.
For me Heavy devastator has to be the most annoyingly accurate enemy with a heavy hitting machine gun and the automaton eradicate missions are actually hell to deal with on just difficulty 6, not even 7, 8, or 9 and especially so with the gunship modifier. For the automaton eradicate missions you may as well have offensive only stratagems as you can't keep your stuff for more than a quarter of a minute and turrets will be dead or dry before they can even be useful.
It’s crazy that they can’t stop nerfing shit, whole community crying out to stop the nerfs. Player count plummeting, still secret nerfs in every patch.
It’s insane the amount of updates and balancing they need for a pve game. Don’t think I have ever seen so much chaos for a game that doesn’t even have a pvp mode
right? they’re running around the studio changing stuff every week when that never needed to be the case lmao, it’s not that serious. it’s insane and frankly embarrassing how fake serious they are being with every little thing in a PVE game… yea no imagine if they had a pvp game oh my god it would die instantly.

@@tylerulfmann4586 see I don’t have an issue with META cause it’s always gonna be thing tbh unless a weapon has clear disadvantages and excels in a particular niche. META stand for most efficient tactic available - and imo, it’s only an issue if players gatekeep content by kicking people who don’t run a meta load out but I don’t think that’s rampant in this game - but those players are dickheads. The devs don’t understand why there are metas and want this sunshine and rainbows environment where everything is equally as good which is difficult unless weapons excel in a niche. The railgun was meta at the start of the game on higher difficulties, not because it was OP, because the other options were lacking. Its seemed OP due to a PS damage bug that they took forever to fix and didn’t even explain what was causing it. I’ve literally NEVER played a crossplay game that had different damage calculations dependant on which platform or console you were on, was weird af.
I thought I got shittier, but this explains everything. Really unfortunate. Also, I like the gunship patrols but I find it ridiculous because I got screwed over at the start of a mission because there was a gunship patrols, a regular patrol and some stationary bots close by, so I couldn't take down the ships because of it and couldn't kill the bots while getting blasted by the ships, so I was just like, "Nah, not doing this" and quit to desktop. Also, have been getting headshotted way more and it is really REALLY frustrating, sometimes I don't even get to react.

I will be honest, with the shriekers, I don't mind them so much. I have had a group of 4 shriekers dive in on me from behind and kill me without me having time to react. I didn't mind, it was the first time. The after, I managed every shrieker patrol easily. For the bots however, I do think either the gunships need to be either nerfed a bit or the patrols need to be either 1 or 2 of them not 3-5 like the shriekers
You know what annoys people about automatons? Is getting stun locked in the ragdoll state because you have 6-8 rocket devstators, 2-3 rocket hulks, 3-5 gunships all shooting fucking rockets at you non stop. They need to either one tone down the rate in which rockets are spawned in or used or make it so rockets only flinch you if that.
Automaton’s rocket should have its blast range nerfed so it doesn’t have as much force to ragdoll us when not connecting, it is only fair when they launch so many rockets at us. Especially the gunships, 4-5 of them strafing at you the same time you are not gonna get up ever again
It's in part because of the slow creep of more and more enemies that stun you, all the new additions have ways to fling you or stun you, so with each update it gets slightly worse with no way to avoid it.
rockets ragdoll is horrible don't get me wrong, but I'm the grand scheme of things only random headshots and flinching from enemy shots are my issues with them. but on the flip side, I really don't like hunters, at all just way too annoying and feel like the entire faction , that and the limited weapon choice to kill chargers keeps me unmotivated to try something new, and stealthy acid sprayer oneshots(its fixed now so hopefully i can cross this one off the list) so bots all day every day
I’m so sad man. None of my friends have wanted to play the game for a while now because of all the bugs and nerfs. We used to play almost every night, but in the past month I don’t think we’ve played more than 5 times total. I was really hoping this patch would fix the game enough to get us back into it, but there’s no way they’re going to want to play the game in this state. And beyond that, I think I’m just done with it. The devs have had a month to just fix the game, and they seem completely incapable of putting out a patch that doesn’t break half the game. I’m tired of fighting for this game when it seems like the company making it doesn’t care. I’m not willing to wait another month for fixes while playing the game in this state by myself. It’s a shame; this was such a promising game at the start.
Same, my friends list, back when it worked before this patch that is, was almost always empty, maybe one guy besides me was only active a little bit, then rewind to 2 months ago and Steam couldn't keep track of how many of my friends were in HD2, 2 months dude, no game in history has had this kind of a fall that I can think of in such a short time frame.
I'm with you on this one brother, I was really hoping so much this patch will bring new features and that they will fix the game. "Let them cook" they said, well we did let them cook, the patch is literally the same quality (bugged shit, pretty mediocre warbond, mediocre buffs) as it was before, which is the worst outcome. It's so sad, but I will be taking a break until there is some actual new stuff to fuck around with and the game is fixed.
@@Couragenotthedog true, everyone whining so much after the first patch under the CCO, which is generally going in the right direction, im assuming we will get a bug fix soon for crashes and spawn issues, hopefully the crying will stop and we can get a few more similar patches with great balance changes. The game is going in a better direction, everyone was just assuming that one patch was going to fix the entire game. If they release a few bug fix patches(scaling from crashes to minor issues like the new aerial patrols modifier not displaying properly) in the next few weeks like predicted, youtubers might have to not rely on doomer clickbait for views and the game will be mostly playable. Honestly if they just focused the next big patch on only fixing all the bugs and crashes if that is more necessary, i think the community will come back pretty strong numbers-wise. I guess we shall see what happens over the next few weeks, that will kind of decide where its going.
The aim improvement of enemies was glaringly clear when I hopped on last night. Got completely obliterated by an MG Raider as soon as I saw the first shot hit me. I’ve never been so confused in this game as when one, lone, infantry fodder just absolutely shredded me in a second. I didn’t even have time to turn around.
@@bingbong8464 that was the intended purpose of the change, but the way they changed it is what cause the increased accuracy. “Most of Automatons weapons have now gotten tighter limits to how much the projectile they shoot can deviate from its weapons muzzle angle” is what was claimed. Yes, this means they can’t randomly shoot you when their gun appears to be pointing in another direction, which is nice. However when you think about the wording “tighter limits to how much the projectile they shoot can deviate from its muzzle angle” this also means they now have a tighter spread on where their weapon is pointed. This is the change that many people have felt(I.E. getting insta killed by one machine gunner before you can even react because they land nearly every single shot). As usual with Arrowhead, many of the “fixes” they do simply create new issues that aren’t addressed and are therefore not understood.
To your point about the HMG and the stupid "realism" they claim theyre going for: I'm an actual machine gunner in the military. If we were going to make things actually realistic, the LIGHT machine gun would have a 400% stamina drain multiplier, could only be operated reliably on bipods or tripods, and would require 2 people to operate effectively. You can imagine how the HEAVY machine gun would behave. Also one EAT would kill a charger a bile titan literally anywhere (or at least the spear). These are literally designed to kill bunkers/tanks. Some bug chitin is actual paper to them. Wanted to add, actually the lmg and especially hmg would absolutely emulsify chargers and bile titans as well.
Also you’d imagine that these elite super space soldiers and scientist actually find ways to optimize their weapons for the enemies they are fighting. It just seems like we’re taking the MG that is used in human to human warfare to fight bots and bugs. That fact that the weapons are not modified to fit the need to fighting super bugs is in itself unrealistic. If you’re fighting super bugs where you need mobility you’d think we have a guard-dog reload or a backpack fed machine gun that allows us to not stand still for 4 seconds to reload and get cooked the moment we ran out of ammo. Also 110 rocket pods go through tank armor and one shot the tank but doesn’t go through charger exo skeleton? It seems like AH use realism only when its convenient for them.
I recall someone once pointing out chitin loses its effectiveness at a large size, hence all the big crabs near the bottom of the ocean. A warrior bug from starship troopers? Drop a rock you need to lift with two hands right in the center of its leg, the chitin will warp and break the leg. A bile titan, realistically should collapse under its own weight, or be so stupidly light and fragile it’s be a bus sized soft shell crab.
They should essentially look at M249L/para, M249 regular, and M240B as their models. The new HMG can chew hulks now (I haven't played bugs yet), and the regular MG and Stalwart are pretty on par with real world equivalents. 5.56 isn't chewing through much other than flesh. For stamina, idk about 400% for the MG, maybe drain twice as fast. 240B/HMB should pretty much prevent you from sprinting (assuming you're carrying ammo as well and don't have an AB/AMG). Some things have to be "futurized" for the idea that we're "super soldiers" but obviously we need to have real-world references in our heads for how to use them. I don't think they intended the HMG to be a hand-held .50cal, but the HMG emplacements should be like having double-.50s, AA style. Def agree on the AT/AP weapons, an AT-4/EAT is designed to punch through armor, same as Spear/Javelin.
Bile titans and chargers are fictional bugs. You are talking like you know the composition of sci-fi bug chitin, which usually in sci-fi (Warhammer 40K) is extremely durable in the fact that in biology, organisms mutate to counter specific threats and they have been fighting against super earth for more than 100 years....enough time for the bugs to adapt to super earth weapons. In 40K, a Hierophant Bio Titan which is the inspiration for HD2s bile titan can tank weapons that literally evaporate towns and tank columns in a single shots. The key word here is that it is a FICTIONAL setting, the bugs don't have the chitin of bugs we have IRL.
@@JABelms And Helldivers are fictional people who are able to handle being in a coffin hitting terra firma at terminal velocity without getting a full body concussion and having their knees weld into a solid lump of bone. "Oh, b-but you don't know the composition of their drop pods! Maybe there's some non-Newtonian gel in it that absorbs the shock of terminal entry!" Okay, put that in the stocks of their guns, if it can take slapping a planet's cheeks it can take recoil like nothing. "But that's not realistic, guns need recoil and if they're big they need to handle like an engine block with a trigger assembly on one end!" Nuh uh, you don't work at Super-Sonoran Desert Institute, you don't know what metallurgy and whatever goes into their guns and ammo. So the HMG is made of Super-Gundamium, which is corrosion resistant, half the weight of aluminum, fifty times stronger than titanium and can be sharpened to a molecular edge like obsidian. Now the HMG is as big as a small child, fires depleted uranium .500 nitro express at the fire rate of an MG42, has the recoil of a .22 pistol and a bayonet that can cut a Temu T-800 like warm butter. Because Chainswords in 40k have Prometheum fuel and tempered diamond and stuff, it cut through a Baneblade at some point! And, and, and wraithbone and necrodermis and some such!
I agree with you, the amount of people coping and defending things that clearly still need improvement is wild. Not shitting on arrowhead I'd say it's actually nice to see some work in the right direction but the game is not in perfect state by any means in terms of balance.
Being a Helldivers 1 vet, I said from the beginning that Arrowhead will likely destroy Helldivers 2 with their obsessive balancing and patching, just like they did with the first game. People didn't believe me. Well look at it now. It's HD1 all over again.
@dyroth just use to be fun. Most weapons were better for some things than others but most could still do the job if push came to shove. Then they added more enemy types, nerfed weapons, till it started feeling more restrictive. For example, they added attack dogs for cyborgs, which would tackle you and stun lock you to death as soon as you stopped firing. The only way to mitigate that was you had to wear a shield generator. It's like they are afraid that people will get bored by having too much fun. They think misery keeps people playing.
@@icantaim4sht836 lmaoo didn’t know they added the dogs later on, they messed up me and my friends. It did get nearly impossible for us to get past the suicide difficulty back then, at around 2016/7? I cant tell if you're being sarcastic or not.... like... having gunships on you ass is harder which in turn makes the game for interesting/exciting/fun (to me anyway)
Yeah we got forked in a game on level 7 because: A: we had a patrol with 4 gunships. B: and 2 gunship factories right next tot each other. Leading to: Having 10 gunships in about 2 minutes chasing us through the map and killing all our reinforcements leading to mission fail.
@dztrict1000 you take down two fabricator gunships, then proceed to arm the hellbomb and another two spawn from a patrol, you take down those two and proceed to arm the hellbomb, then two more spawn from the fabricator and the loop starts again Do you not see the issue?
@@kokorochacarero8003i dont think they spawn fast enough to keep the loop going for long, although i do see the problem this is a situation that fixes itself if you just don't let them gunships live long enough, with good aim you can probably kill 2 gunships in 9-15 seconds, and gunship patrols ignore you unless you're shooting or exploding stuff
The original Helldivers had Helldivers be glass cannons, but actually cannons. You could be splatted in a second, but you could also mow through enemies if you knew what you were doing. Reducing our power and making enemies bullet sponges makes this less fun than the original. Arrowhead doesn't get it.
But you still can mulch enemies, I don't get it! When I play the game and when I rarely look at community stuff outside the game is like peeking into a different reality
I think they secretly nerfed the laser cannon. Before it seemed like I could take down a gunship in a matter of 1-2 seconds. Now, there were several instances where it took 3-5 seconds. they also need to fix the rocket devastators aim. I had an instance where I was prone and wearing the heaviest armor in the game, and a devastator hit me from 70+m away and took over 50% of my health. also, I'm noticing that I'm getting hit far more frequently with the standard lasers while running the ballistic shield.
Patch 1.000.3 Laser Cannon Slightly increased damage Slightly reduced damage versus large volume bodies Before this patch the laser cannon was my go-to support weapon for bots. I've used it twice since.
I spawned into a mission where we dropped near 2-3 gunship fabricators. But there was also a jammer nearby so we couldn’t destroy the fabricator without taking out the jammer. We’re pushing towards the jammer but in the meantime the fabricator is pumping out gunships literally every 30 seconds. Anyways we get rocket juggled to death over and over again without being able to do anything about it so I just closed the game.
They need to make flinch tied to the armor type, light armor will remain the same, medium armor will have reduced flinch and heavy armor have no flinch. Its really annoying to get hit and immediately have to dive out of the way because trying to wait for your aim to reset is not worth it.
I dont think heavy should have no flinch, but maybe a flinch resist can be tied with the Extra Padding passive, so the Fortified Commando or whatever the 200 armor armor actually has no flinch.
@D-S-G. flinch resistance is a better solution not full on removal as i do see how that'll be op, but with how slow you run and how fast you run out of stamina, it feels pretty annoying that 1 random bullet can interrupt your aim. So for a few guys, your aim will be fine, but if you are in front of a shield devastator, obviously he'll make you flinch cause you are getting showered in bullets
one thing that speaks volumes to me is that they say: "Our intent is to ease up on the demand of anti-tank weapons..." yet instead of giving us more ways to deal with larger enemies, they just make them spawn *less*. so anti-tank is just as essential, you just use it less often (in theory, at least) very questionable design philosophy
or "our intent is to ease up on the use of anti tank weapons" and then add more of an enemy that reequires even more anti tank weaponry than the standard one, and then add patrols that require anti tank weapons.
The rate at which you need to expend the anti tank weapons in theory become lower which would happen. The entire issue now is that the freaking patrols got worse somehow
On that end, right now the "meta" is probably to have all 4 people have at least 2 more or less dedicated AT stratagems. The developers probably want the "meta" to be half of a team bringing one (or maybe two) AT stratagems, and the rest of the players are free to do whatever goofy combo they want. AT is always going to be "needed" just because of some core game mechanics (AP levels + durable damage), but right now 99% of problems in game are best handled by either some super heavy AT or normal AT weapon / strategy. Now, does this idea work in solo play? No, not really, but Im not sure how they are going to fix that.
"We rolled back the patrol changes to the previous values. Except for when we didn't. We can't leave well enough alone." Are the gunship patrols tied to there being a tower on the map or do they keep showing up even after you blow it up?
Has anyone noticed bugs having more HP? I used to one-shot bile spewers with the impact grenade, and I was able to kill the bile titan with one 500-kilogram bomb as well. But since the patch, I've seen a bile titan take two orbital railgun shots and walk it off. I hit them directly with the 500-kilogram bomb, and they walk away unscathed. While the bile spewers are now able to take an impact grenade and keep on trucking.
Titans have always been able to shrug off 2 rail cannons depending on where they're struck. Also 500 KG is a one shot, the explosion has always just had an ass hitbox. These arent new at all.
100% caught on. Behemoths now take like 5 headshots and biles used to go down with one rocket/quasar headshot and 1 orbital rail cannon and it’s just not working lately. I don’t even bother with bots anymore. It’s incredibly annoying. Those fuckers have aimbot and can hit you from 5 miles away through a mountain. I also CONSTANTLY keep getting stuck under the map for bots. It’s happens 3/4 times on the last bot missions I ran.
@@ramannoodles.Well yeah, but if you ar good with your aim, then gunships are okay to fight, like i am a mech enjoyer and honestly the EMAN exo desrtoys the bots if played well
@@gabeperras3711 You're confusing shriekers for gunships. Bot gunships require at LEAST *AP 3*, the higher end of medium armor penetration, to shoot down. And if you ain't hitting their engines it's gonna take a LOT of shots fired. The only real upside is that unlike bugs' flying units, bot gunships can't call for reinforcements... Although they CAN 'ping' nearby units to converge on your location.
Nah, both the gatling and strafing run are much more useful, the tenderizer feels much better, there is now a reason to use chaff stratagem, HMG and MG feel better, and Spear consistently targets even though it has lost fabricators temporarily😂
They just seem to be incapable of balancing reasonably. If they make one enemy tankier, they should decrease the spawn rates of that enemy. If one heavy armor enemy spawns in large groups very commonly, make that enemy weaker. If there’s more tankier enemies, increase my ammo for AT weapons or make the reloads quicker. Instead they do all the opposites. Make these changes make sense!
Had a mission last night, we had 11. Fking 11 gunships on us. One of those games where you drop on next to two gunship bases then got flanked by the seeningly endless flood of gunship patrols. All we did was get pinballed around and die for 10 minutes. And it wasnt so much because we couldnt kill them--we did it was just the endless barfing of them ontop of us. They really need to add some anti air call downs, ortbital air brust, turrent spears, maybe an air craft that does a zone protection for a few seconds...just something man.
They decided they were not going to add any new stratagems until AT mines are unlocked. You can expect new stuff maybe next month if mines get unlocked, but whatever they add will be bugged.
@@RealGubby well i hope they do it fast because my poor helldiver is questioning his personhood as he seems to think he is a bird more than man due to all the flight time he is getting now.
Ya, I've had that happen both with getting double gunship factories and a single gunship factory within agro distance of each other, guess I got the secondaries done back to back, but that sucked. Was nearly impossible to do as soon as a hellbomb was called down 2-4 gunships would spawn and keeping them off of it is near impossible when your ragdolling around (I also always use armor that reduces explosion damage on bots as well). Also had double shrieker nests on a map next to each other . . . Hard to even get your support weapon called in.
You know what would fix this? Pre game intel. “Scans indicate a heavier than normal presence of gunships”. Then you and your team would know you need to bring plenty of weapons to be effective for these.
I mean the last patch introduced so many good changes but then on top of that we had some nerfs too to stuff Why can't it just be buffs? Is there no proper play testing? I know this was talked about before that the devs don't play their own game (but I mean what about a playtester group?) does that not exist too? Like seriously, we had some really good buffs this patch, but tbh a lot of them were unnecessary and didn't fix the balance issues of what the community really asked for. Orbital airburst never needed a buff. Eruptor never needed a damage increase, it needed it's shrapnel back. Normal breaker and breaker spray and pray still fucking suck balls. The arc thrower and railgun still sucks. The laser guns like the scythe and the las dagger and the laser cannon still have low damage
Stuff like lowering the explosion armor penetration on some stuff Reducing the damage on the rocket pods, I kid you not it can't even 1 shot a charger, and you have only 3 uses So if there are 2 or 3 chargers you gotta wait till cool down happens if you don't bring something like a proper AT support weapon
they keep adding these weird obscure random changes that no one wants or needs and I cant figure out why, things like spore spewers having more health, random stagger reductions, these flying patrols, stronger chargers and so on ... its like they need to fck up something new everytime they do a patch when all they need to do is play with numbers on weapons and stratagems

me and my homie played a match today, he memed and brought a stalwart and supply pack for bots, he shot 10000 fuckign shots, gotten 700 kills and we still couldnt shoot our way across the map towards the extract, bots just kept coming
Yeah, we've been experiencing this. Just a wall of bots coming at us constantly, preventing us from getting anywhere near a base. Constantly getting oneshot / sniped and prefired. Feels like their accuracy is stupid high as you keep getting hit constantly. I went through 40 stims or something with heavy armour. Difficulty 6, but we've run into the same issue with just two of us on 4.

So you know those heavily armored flying enemies that rain death and destruction onto the battlefield and are only destroyed by heavy AP weapons, but the spawning of which can be entirely disabled to make the mission easier? Yeah we added convoys of five at a time as regular enemies. Oh and also they don’t actually count as a patrol so ground units spawn independently. Alright that’s it for making Helldivers worse with baffling decisions, bye!
Level 6 on bots was manageable but holy shit there is a ton of guys now. The amount of shots flying through the air at all times is wild. Bot dropping like 12 berzerkers at once is something else too
they definitely did not reduce the spawn rate. I was testing some things against the bots on level three. LEVEL 3!! and when it came down for extraction, I had three patrols of 6-8+ enemies converge on my location at the same time. LEVEL 3!
I get 320 in 30 minutes on lvl 4... ON AUTOMATONS It doesn't seem worse than before the patch, but I can't see any change for the better in patrol spawns.
@@erikbell1723 i would prefer that over 3 dropships dropping a strider, a full squad of heavy devastators, and 1 hulk with full squad of rocket devastators.
11:00 the amount of gun fire is why it isn't fun. Its literally coming from every direction. The flinch is so real. I legit thought i was getting worse at the game. I just couldn't put my finger on what was going on.
I played a couple of bot games with a friend today and it was miserable. At one point we had 3 different patrols, gunship patrol and a gunship factory. There were so many gunships that by the time we killed them another gunship patrol had spawned and the game was doomed. We normally go helldive difficulty but we had to lower it since it just wasn't enjoyable. I have never eaten more rockets in my life and lets not even mention the gigachad CSGO pro player bots that can headshot me while im in the air getting ragdolled by the 5 rocket devastators 2 rocket hulks and 4 gunships. Shit isn't event cooked, Its deepfried. Probably feels great for lower difficulties though.
Some of my most frustrating experience in the game is being ragdolled around like a little bitch to the point I can't even do anything anymore and it's not actually funny or fun. When you play against the bots and get surrounded by 3-4 patrols, 5 gunships, a factory strider, 2 hulks and 2 tanks and you keep being jerked around from left to right only to get shot at right as you're trying to get back up, it feels like being bullied by the game. And that's if you didn't simply get instakilled by some basic trooper with a rocket who shoots with perfect accuracy from a hundred meters away. A friend of mine argued "Yeah but that's why they call it a helldive, it's supposed to be hell". I see his point but this is a game and when no amount of skill or experience will make a difference, then it's not challenging, it's just stupid.
When AH said ''spawns and patrols reverted'', I was thinkig ''okay, day 1, and work from there, nice'', but what the devs ment when they said ''revert'' was back when they were ass mad at the players for clearing helldive solo and went way overbord as a f!$% you.
idk if this will work, but sometimes i can restart my computer, and then it'll quickly say "trying to close programs" and you can hit cancel. might get lucky and it closes the game but cancels the restart process
I had FIVE charger behemoths chasing me at one time today. Five. I just quit the game. Not going to run in circles for 10 minutes waiting for the ONE stratagem that can deal with them to come off cooldown five times in a row. This game doesn't respect my time, and I am just about done with it.
I’m actually right fucking there with you. I have 5 kids and a job where I come home at night and after a long ass day and kids are sleeping I load up some helldivers grab a drink and play. I don’t want to come home and play something that is so over the top hard and constantly just running for your life I wanna sometimes just stroll around and kill some fuckin bile titans without 67 hunters on me. I was on lvl 6 bugs the other day I was getting chased by 3 bile titans trying to extract running for my life. Not fun. I love this game but these people don’t quite understand what they need to do.
@@devilg11 I’m already playing on 7. But yeah, if they can’t figure out their own game, that’s always an option. Problem is that it’s far too easy otherwise. Shouldn’t be that hard to tune the fucking game to have a fairly homogeneous difficulty according to level. Not sure who thought “replace all the chargers with behemoths and multiply by two” was necessary. They’re just all over the place and apparently no one at Arrowhead understands their own game.
i mean, half of the stuff he addresses is just stuff that need bug fixes, not the actual route they are going with balance. Its a lot of nitpicking and whining.
The moment they nerf the incendiary breaker, the game dies for people who like to play against bugs From a game design standpoint, realism in some form is good in games until it gets in the way of fun and gets in the way of the game's fun aspects. Then it becomes a bad game design

Bro I know this comment is 3 weeks old but you struck a huge chord with me. I was a long-time Dark souls PvP enthusiast. Fromsoft alienated their entire PvP scene with Elden Ring and this god-awful crowd-pleaser of a buggy messy unbalanced DLC. The designer, Miyazaki, has publicly stated he doesn't play his own games, and it shows badly. I am so frustrated to see this in yet another studio- they don't play their own game. It's just unfathomable to me.
I got ganked by 5 gunships as soon as I dropped in on a Blitz mission yesterday. This didn't happen once by the way. No, it happened *twice.* Screw gunships, hope they stay in their little incel gunship fabricators and keep gooning forever.
I don't understand why turrets can't be just immune to damage anyway, it's not like they aren't capped on ammo already or that instakilling a swarm isn't better most of the time. Also broke "superior packing methodology" ship module again. Precision orbitals should also be immune to scatter modifier since it basically takes away the one thing they're supposed to be good at. One thing that pisses me off is bullets deflecting, they could just lower it to 10 or 5% dmg instead of flat immune. Also dying and having all your equipment on a 10 min cd is absolute cancer.
Got on after patch, immediately got shot through a wall and my vision went above the map because of being ragdolled in first person. Decided I would try to answer some SOS calls and my game crashed from switching to public. NICE
Bot side? You’re cooked without an autocannon cause we got infinite Gunships! Bug side? You’re cooked without a flamethrower cause we got infinite chargers that absorb three rockets to the face!
“We lowered the amount of heavies to increase loadout diversity at higher difficulties” But also “We added gunships to patrols because screw you” There’s simply no way the devs are play testing the release build at any higher difficulty. There’s no way they play this above D4 and think “yeah this is super fun, players are gonna love this”. Also no way they test because how is the packing upgrade broken once again. It’s been broken longer than it’s worked.
@@dztrict1000 Except when you just drop on and there is a patrol nearby hovering or you just get one to spawn right behind you, they aren't hard to take down but they require weapons that if you aren't carrying you're pretty much screwed since no primaries can take them down reliably unlike shrikers...
the highest the new CEO plays i know is 5 on Dark fuild mission and 6 I think. but Idk for the rest of the dev team, the dev team should try to play on D7-9 this is where most people play it because they don't like the walking simulator they want to shoot stuff. but now is better to play a walking simulator because the enemies are so accurate that they can one-tap you from Pluto, plus the cannon turret IS SO ACCURATE even when zigzag it still hits you.
I'm mainly curious about how the charger behemoth eats food when it's got large horn protrusions above and below its mouth plus no hands (that I can see anyway).
Glad it's not just me. This update feels so much worse to play than before. Not only did it introduce new bugs, but the patrol spawn frequency feel worse or unchanged. For wanting to take longer with their patches...it feels like no testing was done on this one.
this also highlights how unbelievably unbalanced things are in the game. Currently, the throwing knife does more durable damage than the rail gun and the emancipator exo suit. So stupid.

My son and I jumped in after not playing for a month or so. We went to the missions and fought the bots. Was sad to find out that the dam air patrols only die from the same what 3 guns? The heavy machine gun was fun but you run out of amo after killing 1-2 patrols. Why only 2 reloads? Why so few rounds? Why is always needing amo supposed to be "fun" or a "challenge" Its just annoying. Bots became the same boring thing with Run away, get ragged dolled to death, wait for stratagems, sneak around. We only played for a bit but the patch overall seems good. Its just disappointing that we still can't make everything viable. Why do we have so many enemies that only work with 30% of the weapons if that? If I want to artificially increase the difficulty by going in with weapons that dont work well that is boring.. It just turns the game into more running away and waiting for stratagems. Sadly.. I dont think we will be playing much more. Probably put it on hold for another month.
Hear me out. Revert all changes and bring everything back to day 1 balancing sandbox. I mean EVERYTHING from weapons to enemy spawn rates and all that. Fix the bugs first then buff everything's that is underpreforming. Then reduce certain enemy type spawn rates and fix damage scaling to be more forgiving and less punishing. Anything else i missed?
I'll never understand why they changed the chargers from HD1. Chargers could still be a danger, but a well-placed shot the their exposed rear-end was a kill, and the Automatons are still a headache with their constant barrage of gunfire. The gunship patrols would be a nice addition, but they're entirely too frequent. I was looking forward to the patch, but the game is somehow less fun than before.
What is the point of having an unarmored spot on the exposed back of an otherwise fully armored enemy when the spot takes reduced damage from almost everything because it's fLeShY bItS? I'll never understand their logic. This is anti-videogame design
@@bingbong8464 why is it not a weak point? It should be a weak point. It makes perfect videogame sense for it to be a weak point Why would an enemy which is armored on the front and sides have a differently colored spot of a softer material on its back and instead of taking normal damage it takes 90% REDUCED damage? At that point just make it have armor on its entire body Red barrels mean explosives. Bright colored fleshy bit at the back of an armored enemy means weak spot Don't mess with perfection
Dude the flinch, bot accuracy, crouch accuracy reduction, GIANT purple exclamation marks and Question marks. I am constantly dying from FIRE DAMAGE on ice planets with no visible source of the fire? The guns may be better but honestly the reduction in recoil from crouch in addition to the constant flinch from the crazy accurate bots who are shooting me through all sorts of absolutely *BLINDING* visual effects is insane. This patch didn't save the game for me. I'm done dude.
Did you get that glitch where you spawn in and your gun is invisible? It still shoots, but there's nothing there but a purple question mark. Then I called in my spear, and there was just the purple question mark. I thought someone hacked the game 🤷♂️
Later. I have decent aim and the diligence CS makes light work of anything bot related. AMR + 500kg for everything else. Oh and I work like 50 hours a week, only got time for a few runs a day.
The increase accuracy explains why you can get destroyed by a single heavy desvastator if you don't take any cover. These bots now don't miss a shot which is not fun to fight against.
They could still do that, but now they do it more consistently... i still think they should remove the headshot mechanics for player altogether... not a fun experience getting killed in one spray of a devastator.
@@JABelmsWell it feels like the heavy devastators don’t have a wind up for their machine gun. You can run around a corner and one will gun you down in a second. I feel like there should be an audio and visual que that shows they’re about to fire
7:06 The devs are incompetent. They do not play test the game whatsoever. It took me about 3 minutes to discover that the ship modular “superior packing methodology” upgrade doesn’t work… AGAIN! How? How the hell are they blind? There are so many bugs all over the place. Im done playing this game. It isn’t worth my time.
Somehow, impossibly, SPEAR is now the top-tier anti-tank pick. Locks on everything instantly, reliably one-taps Behemoths to the head. It is now the only anti-tank that can do that.
Before this patch, I could consistently one-shot bile titans to the head, even while puking. Now, sometimes, when you shoot, especially when diving, the rocket shoots out to the right and then goes for the target, making it miss the headshot. It seems to me that they did something to the way it shoots, which makes it less consistent. More unnecessary changes...
About dam time, too! I love bringing this thing along and, until now, it felt good to use on bot-blitz missions as a "hey look, I'm useful! I have a niche!" Game other than disabling factory strider cannons (when it chooses to lock into the cannon rather than the body).
Yeah, no. I don’t play bugs anymore but on the bot front it takes TWO shots to kill a hulk because most of the time it won’t hit its eye. It also takes TWO shots to kill a tank, even the light one because it is, again, inconsistent. The factory strider - oh boy you can dump eight shots or so and it will just continue chilling. Idk, maybe on the bug front it does something but on the bot front it sure doesn’t. AND you can’t even target bot factories from afar and use it as a utility at least. The spear absolutely blows. The only “good” thing is that it locks on to things now but I mean it shouldn’t be praised, it’s a basic fucking function of this weapon it literally wasn’t working before!
@@jjprs3062 yeah, I know But as we all know many Scandinavian game companies do nothing during their summer break (darktide, drg, etc.) so I’m not even sure if they’re gonna fix that. 100% agree bro...Everybody in these comment sections keep sayin "if you're still complaiing after this patch, you'll never be happy," and "this patch saved the game, its soooo awesome now!" but it's not awesome at all, the fun factor is almost 100% gone. Same meta weapons n strats, same missions, same bullshit flinch, ragdolling me into shit, etc. The patch has the game just as fucked up as it was, it just takes a different path to get to the same fucked up place. The shady ass peeps at AH buffed the hell outta the Tenderizer ONLY to soften the blow of the last shit warbond and left the obsolete guns obsolete. The AR's are still trash... Lib Pen -45 damage, shit mag, Lib C -shit mag, shit fire rate, no scope. New Lib -lmao with that useless P.O.S. Adjudicator has all kinds of recoil but does 15 less damage than the Tenderizer which has no recoil and staggers and medium pen really isnt that big of a deal if you're shooting sweet spots so thats no excuse to leave shit so unbalanced. The Breaker needs a bigger mag, the Spray n Pray is still nerfed and still sucks, the slugger didnt get its stagger back, the Eruptor still has no shrapnel. The patrols are all fucked up after they lied and said they were being reverted...the new warbond makes us buy those skins to unlock all the teirs, but u cant even see the damn skin on hellpods cause you look down at the top of it the whole time and it goes into the ground after it hits -lol The new Eagle Strafe impact width was cut in half so its a hair more powerful but doesn't hit shit now, the 110 pods are a damn joke that hit more but do less damage so it still does exactly what it did before. That throwing knife is the dumbest idea i can imagine short of a grenade launcher shooting suction cup dildos that explode after a few secinds, and the goddamn burn me to death jumpack bots are pissing me off. Shit sneakin up on you without making even one footstep, enemies having 150% accuracy on a moving or diving Helldiver, rockets hitting the front of the mountain Im using for cover and ragdolling my ass all over the place. The list just goes on and on. Yeah the patch was one step in the right direction, but they took 50 steps in the wrong direction to begin with and wont fix it back to the way it was when it was big time fun. Instead, they do a couple of minor tweaks that help and change a bunch of other shit that shouldn't have been messed with. I love HD2 but you're 100% correct, they have sucked the fun outta the game and it feels like a chore to even fire it up these last 6 weeks. It's a damn shame that it os how it is and AH just said they gonna be taking time off for the Summer and there wont be much (if any) support, fixes, additions or anything for a couple of months. Right now the grave has been dug, the game is sitting on the edge ready to be kicked into the hole and buried, and if AH doesnt get it in decent shaoe befire a 2 or 3 month vacation, gamers will bury it and move on.
Gunship needs a rework if they are gonna be that more common. They should not be that hard to kill while: - there is no direct orbital/eagle to kill them - only a few weapons can kill them - even the rpgs arent enough when there's 4 of them at the same time Bring a railgun and tell me how fun they are... At least when they are an objective, once they are done they are gone. But having them randomly spawn while you fight a patrol feels awful. Shreikers on the other end are perfectly fine. They die to almost any dmg, they can easily miss you. They don't make you ragdoll over the entire map.
Even on lower difficulties I'm noticing after the update, there's tons upon tons of enemies in each patrol. Like, 20-25 bots in a single patrol on Difficulty 4, with 3 Hulks at a time, it's Difficulty 4 ffs. I've never seen that many before lol.
I was expecting some good word from you about the new patch (and maybe addressing the bad changes too). But OOF, straight up "Feels Terrible" in the title. Here's what I have to say: I get it, they basically "upgraded" all chargers to Behemoths (above lvl 6), and render your regular anti-tank useless, forcing you to rely on wasting a strategem, or using flamethrower as a quick fix. They never buffed EATs or Recoiless. They also reduced the Bile Titans, making it less so that you have the fun to blow up 2-3 at once. (Barely any, on level 7) On the bot front, they make it so that all enemy patrols spawn next to you or a player, effectively flanking you all the time, where you had no place to hide. (Also 6-8 gunships right out of the gate is outright disablement). Spear also cannot target Fabs anymore. The only "good" changes are: 1. Eruptor having 550+ damage, which can "replace" the grenade pistols and grenades in general. 2. Orbital Precision Cooldown at 90s, still not stellar, but at least I'm convinced it is an A-tier now. 3. Spear 100% lock on (with a smaller reticle circle and unable to destroy Fabs or Mortars) 4. ARs feels a bit nicer (Carbine feels good to use) but IMO it's still more like a slightly better version of Sickle 5. HMG can deal with medium chaff bots quite easily, but still can't really kill gunships or tank very quickly Bad, or wasted patches: 1. People saying that Strafing and Orbital Gattling are good, are smoked beyond sanity. 2. Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods now deal less damage than my punisher plasma, meaning you need to drop 3 of these to kill a Behemoth (I don't care if it is 100% accurate now) 3. Other changes to deal better damage against chaff, is just laughable. (Why should I waste a strategem slot JUST to deal with chaff??) I have very mixed feelings about this patch. On one hand, I feel that they are going towards the right direction (buffing underutilized items to make it more competitive). On other hand, of 90% of changes, people won't even remember or it just doesn't matter. I only remember about a handful that improve the gameplay. So that 100+ changes, is really just "multiple damage and armor values" folded into maybe like 20 or so items. Warbond is kinda meh, again, shotgun is useless without Medium Armor Pen (yes they are still trying to play the game of "prenerf" because they are deathly afraid of warbond becoming OP, if any). Knife is useless except to maybe one-trick land to kill yourself). Sometimes I kinda wondering what are they doing with those 5 weeks of dev cycle anyway. Most of these changes can already be made in a single day - Eagle, Orbital adjustments don't require additional coding, those are freaking value changes to cooldown and armor pen. (Granted, they had 4 month to fix the Spear, but the new version is still bugeed). It's like, really, you spent 5 weeks just to have consensus with your team about what changes to actually make, and then spend 1 day making those value adjustments. Even a single decent player (such as Dough) can do a much better job (because they already did the field testing themselves). Like, cmon, are they balancing for people who ONLY want to play level 4 or below? Why are there so many bad changes for higher difficulties? I'm not even an elite player, yet I still exclusively play on level 9 because the missions are laughably easy! And the only way to make it more challenging is to disable players with more behemoths and patrols next to players whatnot. Verdict: Patch is B- at best, and C at worst. This is still a significant improvement than previous patches (they are below D grade). They have still a VERY long way to go before any of the underutilized strategem (which is 95% of them, still) can have a chance again. With longer dev cycles, I also know that patches are going to keep sucking a while until, well, maybe Piles finally plays level 7 or higher and realize that "oh, this is not how I envisioned" :/

Then he started encouraging review bombing, claiming it gave Arrowhead bargaining power with Sony when the opposite was true; Pilestedt had to go into damage control because it suddenly looked like his own staff were orchestrating the review bombing. After the dust settled Spitz started acting like he was some martyr because HR had obviously had a word with him, and soon after Sony probably said "He's acting like a figurehead? Not true, when you don't play video games 8+ hours a day, the game is still a blast for me and my crew who squeeze in 1-3 games amidst our busy lives. Try not caring and just have fun. And if you can't have fun bc you're a thumbstick-timmy then lower the difficulty.
I quite like the new patch, I think the weapon baalnce is definitely better. For the Gunships a good tip is to wait for the rockets then start taking them down. Although you can just risk it vs the rockets now as they seem less accurate to me (also for the laser shots). I didn't have much of an issue out in the wide open no cover in light armour and just using the AMR which takes 4 shots per gunship booster, so having to reload a lot. So I dno I think maybe people are overblowing this issue, if you find it a bit too tough try playing on a lower difficulty.
while i dont want to be super negative after what should have been a net positive update i totally agree with everything you've said. the only time i will take a non-essential fight now is if i think there are super credits involved, which seem to spawn in containers much more infrequently.
Thank god I’m not alone with this opinion. I find it very strange now that credits don’t spawn much anymore.. I have a deep feeling they’re going to force us to buy with money.
@@hox42 i acc did channel my inner whale back when the game was a lot more fun and bought the democratic detonation bundle on release. that was a great investment lol
I was wondering how long it would take for the post patch glazing to die down and for the problems to start rearing their head. Never change Arrowhead, never change.
You nailed it, I now run stealth armor and just run away from everything while clearing the objectives. The gunships and the crazy patrols seems endless, especially when you've cleared the entire map and just trying to get close to the EZ. It seems that it's necessary to bait an infantry to call in for dropship away from EZ and 12 dropship come through sprinkled with gunships. IF only airburst can oneshot the gunships/dropships, then maybe. I dread fighting the bugs now, I have to run flamethrower and EAT + every anti-tank strategem or else no one is having fun.
“We have decreased the heavy enemy spawn rate by about 30%” bruh the chargers be spawning like crazy
They probably class chargers as medium enemies, and bile Titans as heavy enemies.
I see less hulks and tanks... But chargers do be everywhere
Let them spawn ❤ .... Flamethrower is really good and fun to use ❤
If they’re going to add gunship patrols they should already be adding the air to air eagle strategem
They should have made 110s also target gunships so that we dont have to waste a stratagem slot for just gunships
you know what might be good? if the eagle defaulted to air-to-air whenever eagle stratagems weren't being used. so if you don't bring any, it'll always target flying enemies, and whenever you call down an eagle stratagem or re-arm, it'll do that instead of the air-to-air. this would indirectly balance the orbital-eagle stratagem divide and give us more to think about when using our stratagems.
They should rework the rocket sentry to prioritize aerial enemies
They're waiting for us to unlock the anti tank mines first. Why else would they keep trying to push them
They could just allow primaries to kill them, like with shriekers.
When the devs said TTK was too high, they were not talking about enemies, they were talking about players
players should improve their skill at the game

OhDough's list of complaints in this video, in order:
- Recoilless Rifle takes 25% longer to reload.
Overall I share the same sentiment that spawn rates are insane, and support weapons need some more love in order to deal with the increased quantity of heavy armored enemies.
same, i like the sway and flinching, it can result in some friendly fire accidents but that's an intentional and funny element of the game
Realism for the sake of inconvenience is part of the franchise identity going back to the first game.
It's literally part of the fun.
Also the gunship stats have not been touched, you have to keep shooting at anything bot related to make sure their accuracy stays low (something about overwhelming their targeting systems)
-Charger behemoths only spawn on higher diffs, dont like em? dont play higher difficulty then.
-Again ive not noticed or seen said bugs
-enemy accuracy was not changed, simply keep firing at the bots and their accuracy is crap and strafe bug vomit sprays correctly.
-L take from him, it is a welcome addition
-The HMG has huge rounds, hence why it has only 2 reloads, other MG weapons have more ammo due to smaller rounds. The HMG has immense damage potential when you aim it properly, set it to the lowest fire rate and take your time aiming, it can absolutely slap ever bot and kill hulks very fast when you shoot them in the eye (only needs 4 shots i believe)
-Semi-realism is a part of the game, he needs to accept that. its not going away.
-they are fun and are ultra powerful in game.....hell the support weapons win missions alot of the time lol
-This is the only point i somewhat agree with him on, would be neat to see it pierce through medium armor enemies to a point.,
So many of his takes and assumptions are terrible.....the devs of helldivers understand the game 10000000 times more than he ever will.
@@Ainz117The devs straight up do not playtest. How could they in any way comprehend a game they themselves don't even play?
These armored chargers are more common than regular chargers.
i think this bugged out somewhere in the enemies to spawn queue, they said they implemented behemoths to replace multiple normal chargers at once in higher dificulties but it feels like they are just spawning together and not substracting the enemy spawn tokens or something because of how common they are
@jevmenyt3422 I have no idea why enemy spawning is so difficult for them to tune and any change leads to a ton of bugs.

Not saying I don’t believe you, but where did you find this information?
Out of curiosity where was it confirmed? Twitter? Discord?

I main autocannon, so they're not a big deal for me, but yeah. Ragdolling is my least favorite part of this game and they inflict it.
Agreed
getting thrown out of cover by 1 stray rocket is the worst feeling.
i constantly get flung 5km from the map just for stumbling on geometry, airtime is so long that i may as well quit and rejoin instead of waiting for the orbital cannon to kill me
it's not enjoyable when you do respawn and lost your equipment you were carrying very tough gear that takes an eternity to call down again
At least twice now I've been launched so hard I literally get fling outside of the map (though it wasn't by explosives, but rather hellpods landing near me)
i just walked on a dead bile titan leg and got thrown right out of the map, i didn’t even die i was just stuck staring at a mountain at the border
It's strange that they said TTK was a problem and then they added a beef lord to the bugs
They definitely raised the non optimal TTK tho, durable damage buffs make it easier to kill things without hitting the weak spots perfectly or with anti tank, 2 shooting a behemoth charger isn't bad takes 2 shots for bike titans or hulks/tanks 🤷♂️
I think the abdomen is the play now, with the durable damage changes.

I've heard you can melee to get back up after going prone with the shield@@bradychapman5645

Get into cover you won’t have that problem
I don’t think the majority of the devs fully understand the ridiculously complicated damage system they made for this game.
Not to mention this damage system makes it even harder for them to balance the game, which they aren't even very proficient at to begin with.
i think its not as complicated as people make it out to be, it's definitely not simple tho but it's kinda easy to get the hang of it once you understand it
@@dztrict1000but that is the definition of complex though. Everything is easy once you understand its nuances.

The devs don’t understand why there are metas and want this sunshine and rainbows environment where everything is equally as good which is difficult unless weapons excel in a niche.
It's in part because of the slow creep of more and more enemies that stun you, all the new additions have ways to fling you or stun you, so with each update it gets slightly worse with no way to avoid it.
rockets ragdoll is horrible don't get me wrong, but I'm the grand scheme of things only random headshots and flinching from enemy shots are my issues with them.
but on the flip side, I really don't like hunters, at all just way too annoying and feel like the entire faction , that and the limited weapon choice to kill chargers keeps me unmotivated to try something new, and stealthy acid sprayer oneshots(its fixed now so hopefully i can cross this one off the list)

I’m tired of fighting for this game when it seems like the company making it doesn’t care. I’m not willing to wait another month for fixes while playing the game in this state by myself. It’s a shame; this was such a promising game at the start.

To your point about the HMG and the stupid "realism" they claim theyre going for:
I'm an actual machine gunner in the military.
"But that's not realistic, guns need recoil and if they're big they need to handle like an engine block with a trigger assembly on one end!"
Nuh uh, you don't work at Super-Sonoran Desert Institute, you don't know what metallurgy and whatever goes into their guns and ammo.
How did it go? I never paid attention to the patch notes when playing back then
@dyroth just use to be fun.
@@icantaim4sht836 If your only counter to cyborg dogs was equipping a shield generator then you were truthfully terrible at the game

I’ve been following closely with this second ones development and it’s pretty clear they don’t know what they’re doing
Having a gunship patrol coming for your booty while you're attacking a gunship fabricator feels great. 10/10, loving the new patch
I cant tell if you're being sarcastic or not.... like... having gunships on you ass is harder which in turn makes the game for interesting/exciting/fun (to me anyway)
if you're atacking a gunship fabricator you should already be expecting to be fighting gunships
Yeah we got forked in a game on level 7 because:
A: we had a patrol with 4 gunships.
B: and 2 gunship factories right next tot each other.
Leading to: Having 10 gunships in about 2 minutes chasing us through the map and killing all our reinforcements leading to mission fail.
@dztrict1000 you take down two fabricator gunships, then proceed to arm the hellbomb and another two spawn from a patrol, you take down those two and proceed to arm the hellbomb, then two more spawn from the fabricator and the loop starts again
Do you not see the issue?
Yeah, that why most gun in HD1 feel a lot better even it is topdown game.
AH must have hired some saboteur devs.

I thought I just got bad at aiming the laser cannon all of a sudden
Patch 1.000.3
Laser Cannon
Slightly increased damage
Slightly reduced damage versus large volume bodies
Before this patch the laser cannon was my go-to support weapon for bots. I've used it twice since.
But it still the best support against bots now
@@lordderpingtonII its still amazing what are you on about
The devs did something with the lasercannon. Because the third person retical lost his thick outer ring.
Man, I'm glad I jumped ship as soon as I saw the "devs VS players" mentality going on between the lines.
They need to make flinch tied to the armor type, light armor will remain the same, medium armor will have reduced flinch and heavy armor have no flinch. Its really annoying to get hit and immediately have to dive out of the way because trying to wait for your aim to reset is not worth it.
Combine this with slow moving weapons *cough* autocannon, and you’re effectively stun locked
So for a few guys, your aim will be fine, but if you are in front of a shield devastator, obviously he'll make you flinch cause you are getting showered in bullets
one thing that speaks volumes to me is that they say: "Our intent is to ease up on the demand of anti-tank weapons..." yet instead of giving us more ways to deal with larger enemies, they just make them spawn *less*. so anti-tank is just as essential, you just use it less often (in theory, at least)
very questionable design philosophy
or "our intent is to ease up on the use of anti tank weapons" and then add more of an enemy that reequires even more anti tank weaponry than the standard one, and then add patrols that require anti tank weapons.
Then they also add insane gunship patrols which require anti armor to kill. The devs are either malicious, or incompetent.
*adds a bullet sponge variant of the charger and also makes them more common than before
The rate at which you need to expend the anti tank weapons in theory become lower which would happen.
We can't leave well enough alone."
Are the gunship patrols tied to there being a tower on the map or do they keep showing up even after you blow it up?
Gunship patrol is a mission modifier actually
So is shriekers
You may notice a modifier missing on certain missjons
they still show up
They just show up.
Same goes for Shreekers on Bug maps, btw. Much fun
They still show up, just 2-3 of them usually
i once saw a gunship patrol with only just one gunship so maybe it's affected by the gunship fabricator
Bots are the same way, but I've noticed it on bugs as well. Impacts no longer 1-shotting spewers makes them feel worthless now.
Yeah, IMO gunship patrols ought to be composed of one, _MAYBE_ two gunships.
They need to count as a normal patrol
I think 3 is a fair number. Shriekers die easy so they're fine as is.

Bot gunships require at LEAST *AP 3*, the higher end of medium armor penetration, to shoot down. And if you ain't hitting their engines it's gonna take a LOT of shots fired.

How tf did they even manage to "accidentally" make the recoiless slower to reload😂😂
The same exact way they "accidentally" reduced its damage. Absolute clowns.

The patch has the game just as fucked up as it was, it just takes a different path to get to the same fucked up place. The patrols are all fucked up after they lied and said they were being reverted...the new warbond makes us buy those skins to unlock all the teirs, but u cant even see the damn skin on hellpods cause you look down at the top of it the whole time and it goes into the ground after it hits -lol
The new Eagle Strafe impact width was cut in half so its a hair more powerful but doesn't hit shit now, the 110 pods are a damn joke that hit more but do less damage so it still does exactly what it did before.
They should not be that hard to kill while:
- there is no direct orbital/eagle to kill them
- only a few weapons can kill them
- even the rpgs arent enough when there's 4 of them at the same time
Bring a railgun and tell me how fun they are...
At least when they are an objective, once they are done they are gone.
But having them randomly spawn while you fight a patrol feels awful.
Shreikers on the other end are perfectly fine. They die to almost any dmg, they can easily miss you. They don't make you ragdoll over the entire map.

Why is almost every new mission and modifier bugged to hell? Can we get a public test server please????
I was expecting some good word from you about the new patch (and maybe addressing the bad changes too).
But OOF, straight up "Feels Terrible" in the title.
Here's what I have to say:
I get it, they basically "upgraded" all chargers to Behemoths (above lvl 6), and render your regular anti-tank useless, forcing you to rely on wasting a strategem, or using flamethrower as a quick fix. They never buffed EATs or Recoiless.
They also reduced the Bile Titans, making it less so that you have the fun to blow up 2-3 at once. (Barely any, on level 7)
On the bot front, they make it so that all enemy patrols spawn next to you or a player, effectively flanking you all the time, where you had no place to hide. (Also 6-8 gunships right out of the gate is outright disablement). Spear also cannot target Fabs anymore.
The only "good" changes are:
1. Eruptor having 550+ damage, which can "replace" the grenade pistols and grenades in general.
2. Orbital Precision Cooldown at 90s, still not stellar, but at least I'm convinced it is an A-tier now.
3. Spear 100% lock on (with a smaller reticle circle and unable to destroy Fabs or Mortars)
4. ARs feels a bit nicer (Carbine feels good to use) but IMO it's still more like a slightly better version of Sickle
5. HMG can deal with medium chaff bots quite easily, but still can't really kill gunships or tank very quickly
Bad, or wasted patches:
1. People saying that Strafing and Orbital Gattling are good, are smoked beyond sanity.
2. Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods now deal less damage than my punisher plasma, meaning you need to drop 3 of these to kill a Behemoth (I don't care if it is 100% accurate now)
3. Other changes to deal better damage against chaff, is just laughable. (Why should I waste a strategem slot JUST to deal with chaff??)
I have very mixed feelings about this patch.
Verdict:
Patch is B- at best, and C at worst.
Not to mention, it seems like every bug map has nursing spewers now...
