Ever since getting into Selvedge/Raw Denim your channel has been such an amazing resource! Loved the vid love the set up as well!! Very underrated what you’re putting out👏
@DrewJoiner. Thanks man. Super appreciated and right back at you. Your vids are a constant source of inspiration. Reached out to you a while back on IG about doing a “reacting to” vid on your selvedge pickups. Don’t like to do these things without checking in.
It's worth also noting that if you buy the Kapital Jeans at a Kapital store in japan the bone jeans are about $270usd and the Beautiful World Insane (patched ones) are around $2000usd
the momos facinated me for years there is a video on the net of a guy walking into a momotaro store and buying the sashiko patch 2k denim from years ago. it was at that time made entirely on a hand operated kimono loom. i dont know how this denim would compare to that denim but from the look of it , its quite a tight weave and very uniform which for someone that doesnt like too much slub its eye catching. but i think the community would look at the fabric and not be able to quite get their heads around it. now the hardware on the other hand looks immaculate in the photos on corlections website. they sold out of this in no time at all so their is a market out there for it, i was thinking of getting a pair and putting it behind an emergency use break this glass cabinet hahaha
I’ve had a shoe fetish long before I became a sneakerhead. And when social media came around, the whole limited sneaker hype lost my intrigue with resellers jacking prices to ridiculousness. But before all that, I was willing to pay the premium for rare, unique designs. Until you realize that THAT’s what you’re paying for. The design. The quality and craftsmanship has almost nothing to do with high-end designer price points. You’re paying for design. Which I’m not entirely against. But after learning about craftsmanship/quality, I look for a balance of both. As discussed with Momotaro, even quality/craftsmanship can reach ridiculous levels. But this is why I’ve recently became a beginner boot head! Still love sneaks, all footwear and some high-end design, but after learning about heritage styles I’ve found a new intrigue without sacrificing my streetwear inspiration.
Hey man. My partner and I just got into your channel and its opened us up to a whole new hobby so thank you for that. After endless deliberations I finally made the TCB 505s my first pair of selvedge denim and I'm absolutely in love. Just a question, would you ever do a video that goes into more detail on Red Clouds denim? There's seemingly less information online about them than most other brands and I'd love to learn more about Chinese denim craftsmanship, especially given that "made in China" seemingly always comes with a pejorative connotation. Just wondering!
Great video fella, did anyone say emperors new clothes? What a lot of bobbins…too bizarre…I laughed out loud at the leather trews…looked like they where from Asda! 😂 I’m a firm believer in it ain’t what you wear, it’s the way that you wear it and that you definitely can’t buy style 🤘🏻
Just wanted to share: I just recieved my first pair of raw selvedge non stretch whatever jeans. In my search for non-stretch I stumbled into the selvedge world. I used to have a pair of non-stretch levi's 511 (yes 100% cotton) some 15 years back and I missed them ever since. I dont remember them being selvedge but they were definitly of heavy quality. Eventually they were beyond repair according to my own standard. No need to elaborate on the quality of regular jeans these days and the disgusting habbit of putting elasticband into the weave. As a newbie I chose for a pair of LEE 101's because they're reasonably obtainable and not that expensive. The fit and size is close as my 511 which I used to wear. It feels real nice to wear the rough denim and I really look forward to how this will develop. What is your opinion on the LEE's?
I had a somewhat long conversation with someone about their Kapital piece. Their point was even if its not selvege that isnt to say its not just as good if its still woven in Kojima. And that looks to be more or less true. Not sure why you wouldn't want the selvege ID though.
I actually think the second pair might be worthwhile instead of the short-thread ones that are used for texture, but then why don't they offer any undyed options for those of us who are almost completely OVER the whole indigo thing already? Also, I bought some jeans for twenty bucks and I almost wore them last week. Maybe this week? I finally got to wear my heavy duty khaki pants because the weather a bit unseasonably cool still, but that's likely ending soon enough after we had the first heat wave already.
@@Highland_Paddy id bump up that budget. i think theres some remakable products out there made by some really special companies. im not an iron heart guy myself but if your into practical menswear they have some ripper stuff from a totally utilitarian standpoint.
The momos are fucking dope but $1500 on a pair of jeans is way too much. These are the videos I enjoy the most. Matt riffing on random shit but still being Matt. I left a comment on 1 of the earlier videos on how to pronounce Japanese words. It is very counterintuitive to English but with practice it gets easy! Say it with me now.... KAH-KEE-SHEE-BOO
Nice review on the crazy jeans. On the last one, the animal who unfortunately passed away would be so pissed off, or maybe the cotton plant would be disappointed. On that note, I’m gonna but a Ferrari now, a large print out one, in red.
Too much way too much. They’re jeans for god sake. Those are made for people like the Kardashians. More money than sense, fashion sense. The patch ones and even the bone jeans are tacky AF.
Nice thing about all the jeans you mentioned. If you look you can kind of see why the price. Where with most fashion brands you're paying solely for the name.

Post vid vid gang
This is getting too meta haha. 3 best Sunday videos right here, yours and Antwon's! The community overlap is beautiful ❤

How much are the Kapital Century denim 123s in Japan?
@@amBullseye I can't be bothered looking it up, but I got the Century Denim N°9s and they were about $310usd
I might need to find someone to mule some over for me 😂
Your most unappliable content and yet terribly entertaining
I try. 😂
Get ya money up

Get it as an investment 😂 like investment in whiskey

Good video, nice to see you back
Thanks mate. Good to be back.
Great content. Enjoyed your commentary. Well done.
Thanks buddy. Appreciate it.

Visvim phenomenal outerwear, shoes, shirts, and accessories. Their jeans aren’t great but their corduroy is exceptional.
Totally agree!
Where's the video for Red Cloud MFG.? Saw a new video notification from your channel yesterday, but couldn't find it.
It was a short that RUclips kept making into a video. Cut 0.5 seconds off it and just uploaded again. 😂
Kleman penny loafers are amazing. No blisters

Love your videos. Can you recommend a pair of jeans under $100.00?

1st comment, kapital has great heritage and Japanese Americana pieces. The pricing is just not friendly for most people.
Yeah. Over in Japan it seems much more reasonable.

Oh, but obviously $1500 is however many times more than I will spend on jeans since I think $80 is excessive.
I used to try to patch jeans in the nethers and usually just ended up with bigger holes.

Haha. I remember that. Was looking for it. Might have to check in with you next time I get stuck.
I am fading a pair of Levi's 501 STF now. Cost me 40 bucks.
I value simple stuff used for work. This is all crazy imho

Bahahaha. Word.
RELCO jeans are £45
Sometimes I think you are having deep conversations with the voices in your head 😅
It’s not that deep. 😂😂😂
For sure, stripper club was the major inspiration 😆

The Oni look really good. else is plain stupidity
Haha. You have a point.

Amen to that. You’re right.
I just came back from Japan and the prices there are insanely cheap
Walked out with century jeans and 2 shirts for 350$ Kapital ❤️
