Idk if it’s just me, but hearing about jays health issues and the personal struggles he goes through in order to continue providing us with the same high quality content he always has.. it made me wanna support him more than I have previously. I’m 18, I’ve been of a fan of jays for 3 or 4 years now.. and previously I’d see that jay had uploaded a video, but rather than watching it immediately.. I’d scroll through my RUclips notifications, and see what videos I wanted to watch first based on how interesting they were to me, and then I’d watch them in that order. But after hearing about Jay’s health Issues I’ve instead started immediately watching jays uploads first, and making sure that I like and comment on each video. The reason being, is that I want jay to feel like his hard work is appreciated yk. I doubt just me being more responsive, would end up communicating that to jay.. but maybe if other people feel the same way, or are reacting the same way than he will yk..

@@devencherry8976 I do the same thing a lot. When Paul did the same over the pandemic I def watched him more for a while in support. I've had health issues my whole life and it sucks not being able to do everything you want to, but seeing other people deal with the same and succeed is motivating. I'm 34 this year and it's been a rough ride to now, especially the last few years over the pandemic. I caught some long term respiratory illness that wasn't resolving and wasn't responding to treatments, ended up having to make some lifestyle changes to get it to go away eventually. I think I know what caused it, ironically something I was aware of from past issues with the same, but it just wasn't responding to things it used to, making me think it was actually more than one ongoing thing simultaneously, and it just took staying well and doing the right things for it for a long period before it got better. I hope jay is able to work through whatever's causing his stuff with the help of his doctor, because in my case my doctor was of little help. Long story short for me, not enough research has been done on all the potential illnesses you can get from consuming cannabis and it's concentrates, and I ended up getting a buildup of lipids and waxes that made it easier for other illnesses to set in as well. It left me with a constant dry cough and shortness of breath, but I need cannabis vapor (dabs mainly) to control both my mental health and other physical health issues such as chronic pain caused by my Tourette Syndrome tics, and to manage the background "noise" i get from being in chronic pain as well. Not enough is known about this issue and so a lot of producers don't take steps to remove the lipid/wax impurities. I worked in the industry a decade ago for a few years and learned this and how to remediate product quickly to prevent it, but haven't been using product I made myself since CA legalized. In order for it to clear up you need to take expectorants and get hot steamy showers regularly, while consuming cannabis that is entirely devoid of these impurities. It's actually faster to recover using such cannabis than abstaining entirely, as cannabis is itself an expectorant when processed properly, and it can help dissolve the old deposits to clear them up and cough them out.
I'm breathing much better and have not had a return of symptoms in over a month now, no pneumonia symptoms any longer either which happens as it's initially resolving, and no fevers or any other weirdness. Unfortunately my doctor doesn't really care about cannabis research or research related to the health effects of it, and doesn't know where to properly report my case so it can go into medical literature for others to benefit from, but it's driven me to at least spread my story so other people with similar symptoms, be they asthmatic or otherwise, can get what they need to recover. Like I straight up stopped everything but edibles for a 2 week period and it didn't go away because I was also sick the whole time and unable to clear whatever was down there, it wasn't until I switched to only using products that were 100% free of lipids and started dabbing again that it actually finally cleared up. Super counter-intuitive, it just illustrates how tough dealing with medical issues can be even when they're from a relatively well known and researched part of the body. Everything my doctors were telling me was actually the wrong advice for my specific niche situation, and it was only because of my own niche professional knowledge that I was able to figure it out myself. Just think about all the stories where doctors are stumped, or unable to figure out why treatment isn't working (either because it's treatment resistant, or they misdiagnosed the condition, or treatment is making it worse not better, etc...) I just hope Jay doesn't run into the same struggles I did and is able to make a full recovery soon, dude deserves to be healthy after all the work he's put into it at the very least. Burning the candle at both ends is never a good plan, and I hope others will see his story and learn from it. I could have used such a warning when I was younger, I might not have ended up with quite as many health issues in adulthood if I had taken better care of myself when I was younger.

Jay, you can mount some universal seat sliders to the pedal tray so anyone can find a config that works. Aluminum extrusion rigs can do it all.

@@hoffinb Yeah this would be the first spot. I didn't realize they didn't have sliders on the seat. I'm only 1 of 2 people who use my rig and we're both similar heights. When you have people of varying heights, leg lengths, arm lengths, etc. it makes sense to do both.
They should check out that classic image of the correct racing position. I think there's a lot of little things they can do it really dial in the rig.

    Couple of suggestions for you
    1) put a seat slider under the pedal tray
    2) have look at an alternative wheel base mount from Simcore to give you more clearance for your knees.
    3) add an extension to the wheelbase to move your seating position to give your knees more clearance. HRS make a nice extension for the Simucube 2 Pro.

I'm looking at the carriage that the pedals are on and I see that there's 4 bolts on either side holding it in place. If you could remove those and instead put a bolt in the track of the supports it sits on, you could have knob nuts on top that would allow you to loosen and move the pedal platform forward and back to accommodate Phil. Then just stick colored tape at whatever preferred distance for each of you.

Take a totalled muscle car, say maybe a 69 Camero, and chop it: Just in front of the firewall, just right of the trans hump, and just behind the driver seat. Now all of the controls are exactly where they need to be. Mod as needed.

Don't aluminum mounts can have adapted sliders or custom sliders so that the pedals can go _way farther or closer_ , if needed? I think they do, but you have to purchase/see in stores if they have available. I do remember those exist for the steering, so if they exist for those, they must have for everything else mountable.

is the plate that the wheel is mounted to, upside down? if it were switched that looks like it would give more room for knees.

Is it possible flipping the metal mounting of the steering wheel upside down for more leg room?
