    I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have THE MAN himself doing some much needed maintenance and repairs on my old Volvo. Thanks again Robert. Sandy

    Way off topic: The truth is stranger than fiction - I had a darn coyote walk into my kitchen this morning and ate the food right out of my dog's bowl! :>)

      When I was in Cincinnati recently I saw one walking down a sidewalk in an urban neighborhood where you should never see them. They must be getting brave.

      @@stevemccooleq-My dog was upstairs sleeping through the entire event. She had no clue her breakfast was being eaten by a coyote. In my neck of the woods in southern California, you would be amazed at how many people (illegally) bring home baby coyotes and keep them as pets. Some years ago, I found one in my front yard and was tempted to 'adopt' it, but instead, I left it for its family to come back and collect it. The next morning, it was gone.

    Hi, sometimes I watch couple of times, but always click Like Button. Love your video and all the best, best wishes from UK, I have Volvo V70 1997, working on ABS - I watch you video (help a lot) after that car have no pass a emission. limit 300 I have 342. I change a filter and everything, even petrol to high standard, and the emission is after that 340 LOL, so, after ABS i try buy new catalyst to reduce emission... Thank You.

    Wagon is loaded to the hills, what you using for trans fluid??
    I used to use the Valvoline Red Bottle, but they added the words CVT which indicates a reformulation change: lower viscosity.

    • @chriskeep9461
      @chriskeep9461 28 дней назад

      I think its better to not change the fluid unless you find some Dexron 1, 2 or 3 at an estate sale. there is no fluid made today that is backwards compatible and it will eat up the rubber. Its possible there is some synthetic that by accident works but how to know? my 850 has the original fluid in it at 180k but I am going to manual swap it at some point

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  28 дней назад

      I recommend blue bottle Valvoline Dex/Merc Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) 1 GA. If you can't find it, order it.

    Great video Sir! I am still trying to find out why my car will not start. Maybe you can point me in right direction. Car sat for 6 years. It's a 1998 Volvo S70 GLT. I cleaned out fuel tank, replace fuel pump and fuel filter. I cleaned injectors. Car cranks has spark and fuel out the injectors. I thinking must be a sensor where the timing is not lining up with the spark and injected fuel. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Robert, do you know of a way to troubleshoot headlight switch on 850/v70 model?
    I have it out. Did you ever open one up? I may try it. Problem is this: It will turn on the parking lights, when I move it to headlights, nothing happens.

      Could be the ignition switch. I have had a wire broken inside the light switch.

      @jamesmoore8461 28 дней назад

      @@charlie225 there’s no lower shock bushings, again you haven’t said what car it is ? If it’s an 850 fhe shock mounts to the hub. There’s various other bushings like lower control arms and ball joints ect. If there’s no signs of them failing it’s not necessary, but it’s nice to have them all fresh. You can get HD lower control arms that are a nice upgrade

    the best year 850 is 96. the backwards years have too much emissions and egr stuff and not totally obd2. maby a 95 if you have to. 97 I know nothing about and are rare and you might end up with a low pressure turbo. lucky about half the 850's where made in 96. so you got a 50/50 chance of getting one.
