There is a difference in those brackets, but I don't remember the chassis break numbers. My '98R was different than the '00XC I got one off, but I think it was the bearing mount hole position - and that's not a place to start drilling holes.
I think the only difference is that ones for all-wheel drive and the other is for front-wheel drive. The front wheel drive ones do not have that Arch in them.
The AWD brackets have different bolt hole spacing for the center bearing. The arch above the driveshaft is the same for both items, and they both bolt to the belly pan the same. The chassis break seems to be somewhere in the 2000 (US) model run.
