Great job! Always a great looking year for the gsxr, but let's be real you guys are getting all your parts and help straight from Suzuki were us regular guys wouldn't have that opportunity for all those parts and help from the manufacturer
Nice job. I have both a 1993 and a 1994 GSXR1100W that I'm slowly restoring/hot rodding. I simply can't afford the genuine Suzuki parts prices for a lot of the build, but I am grateful that Suzuki hasn't forgotten the old bikes. Bravo to the Corporation for this. All the very best from the U.S. 🇺🇸🏍🇺🇸
Man, I remember that beast. I was an apprentice at a shop in the North end of Toronto when this came from cycle America to us to be prepped for the cycle Canada review. We did a lot of stuff for Suzuki Canada like this and this thing was great. I fell in love with it instantly. I think all I did was oil and filter new tires and wipe it off as per Suzuki Canada's request. I then took it out for a Ripp on the 400 north for about 20 miles. I talked to one of the guys that had beat the crap out of it at Laguna Seca. Even over the phone, I could almost see the big smile on his face as he talked about the two days that he had with it. He said, get it up to about 100, or 160k as it where and drop it 2 gears and dump the clutch and get back to me. I knew exactly what he was talking about without even asking. So, me being a very loose 23 year old did just that and it was my first 100 mph wheelie lol Those where the days. I do wonder how John Daily is doing these days?
Mon premier GSXR !! Le premier arrivé en région Liégeoise !!! C'était une moto merveilleuse !! Que de bons souvenirs !!! A l"époque une petite révolution !!
Got my 1985 GSXR750F over 24 years ago and currently just waiting for it to be heritage status just like my 1979 GS550E heritage status motorcycle I have had for over 30 years. They just do not build them like this anymore and no road tax or mot's to faff with.
Nothing more than this ... everything is very beautiful but it is not a restoration. I'm just a simple amateur and yes I did a restore to a GSX-R 750 GR75A alone in my house almost without some means!
I’ve just finished my identical bike, except mine took a whole lot longer than 7 days. Also worth pointing out if you use genuine Suzuki parts like I did you will need a small mortgage. You don’t realise how expensive some of these parts are. Genuine screen, screen bolts and trim £517 🤔
About 10 yrs ago, I did a full nos restoration on an 87 1100. Took 2 yrs, everyday on internet scouring nos parts. Hardest parts to come by were turn signals and rear passenger peg bungie hooks. It was aggravating but it was amazing when finished.
I've got the 1988 Slingshot model and here in Australia going though he Suzuki dealers parts list it looks pretty grim, can't even get mirrors from them.
I am from Malaysia,a teacher Suzuki GSX 750 S3 KATANA has always been my dream bike since I can remember......cannot afford it to expensive here,no chance to ever ride one
Beautiful job guys you´re saving a icon! But where did you find all the new parts? I know it isn´t easy to find plastic, for example fenders and fairings, since i´ve got a full house of bike from the 80´s. So where to find it?
I think the parts come from here - www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/vintage-parts .. they don't cover all bike models but they seem to add new models fairly regularly...otherwise in the UK places like Crooks Suzuki in Barrow-in-Furness have a good reputation for helping to get NOS Suzuki parts. :)
Not a "restoration" most of the parts you see here in this video are no longer available from Suzuki, this looks more so like it was disassembled and put back together for show. But besides it is an absolutely beautiful example of a Non U.S spec 1985 GSXR750
i like how he says you can end up with a result like this?..more like if you spend about 5k in parts spend extra getting the parts cleaned and power coated ..machining parts painting the plastics and replacing everything that is rubber,, you can have a ALMOST 10k restored motorcycle
Super sweet rebuild of a bitchin motorcycle. Only goes to prove what a shitload of money can do for you but some of us are on a really really tight budget. Thats the way it works i guess!
anthony marasco Yes I’m sure plenty of people know where it is. Not trying to be mean but learn to help yourself. If you’re too lazy to buy a service manual at least take all of 30 seconds to Google it.
Jesus you have all new parts this is not a restoration I'm doing a 1985 gpz 900 ATM and I come in from the garage every night filthy it's more satisfying

Sorry, but like others, I question the veracity of the term 'restoration' when it looks just like a major service, etc. Where was the 1985 GXSR sourced from? Looking carefully at the video that must be about the best example of a 1985 GSXR in the UK let alone most of the world and I suspect with very low milage.
Way more character than modern machines, great job guys
The Grandaddy of modern sportbikes.
Super light weight, handled great and was a rocketship👍🏼
La più bella Suzuki di tutti i tempi.
WoW that thing is still so beautiful!

The bike that started my love for the GSX-R....thanks

the most amazing looking bike suzuki ever designed.. the GSX early models.. 86/87
Oh how I love those first and second gens.
Mon premier GSXR !! Le premier arrivé en région Liégeoise !!! C'était une moto merveilleuse !! Que de bons souvenirs !!! A l"époque une petite révolution !!
Best looking 750 ever.
My vote is for the next model, the Slingshot for looks.
Wow! Very cool! I had a brand new one while in the Air Force.
I want this bike! I had an 88 for a while.

Hola desde argentina una excelente moto .mis felicitaciones saludos

This is not a restoration but assemble. Every part was ready to put on.
Nothing more than this ... everything is very beautiful but it is not a restoration. I'm just a simple amateur and yes I did a restore to a GSX-R 750 GR75A alone in my house almost without some means!
exactly...
yeah i'm doing the hard work on mine: ruclips.net/p/PLYLLvN4SVb-jnFdIWeAKrJKhGYa3_gBcE
Pedantic much?
Just being unnecessarily pedantic.. just enjoy the build

And that's how it's done! so cool ...
After all these years I still can't decide what looks better the blue/white or black/red color scheme. The original exhaust had a great 🎵to
Wish they would do a reissue of this bike
ahhhh memories...
beau travail belle video
3:36 Throw a Yosh or a Vance&Hines on that Bad Boy!!!😂
Fuck YEAH boys that’s WOW
outstanding
Goodwork
very nice. hopefully, suzuki will begin to make some of the parts that are no longer available to keep these bikes alive.
Did see nothing
dream bike
Tuning carburetor
How many air revolutions.
Thank you so much.
Great rebuild. I’m doing one now but am having trouble finding parts, the vintage parts seem scarce on the website, is it not supported any more.

awesome
Awesome !!!
Great Job.....but the riders seat is the wrong shape....lets it down in my eyes...but a top job from Mr Columbie as always.
I agree, the original seat has a stitched seam down each side, million seat too. Those seats have been re-covered.
What model of bike is it? I didn't hear him say it.
Where did they get the parts is more interesting?
Imagine what this would cost in the real world!
I am from Malaysia,a teacher Suzuki GSX 750 S3 KATANA has always been my dream bike since I can remember......cannot afford it to expensive here,no chance to ever ride one
It was really nice....I appreciate your work ....
Looked like a near mint 1985 GSX to start with. I seriously wonder how much it cost for all the replacement parts - to a customer?

Ok, thanks for your answer! I wish Yamaha had had some similar help for us who restores FZR-oldies...
THIS IS NOT A RESTORATION, IS A BUILD A MOTORCYCLE FROM PARTS IN PERFECT STATE
Awesome. Local guy has a near mint all original '91 with 5k miles for sale for $3400. If only I had the cash....
is there a full video of the build?

love this video mate ! but hey , how'd we go from friday to saturday to completing the build ?? sorry mate not a wanker here !
I would have left all the bodywork till last.
I wouldn't mind buying this bike for million dollars.
Fantástico!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
I have the same bike, but im converting it into a go kart.
If I have the money, time, experiance, knowlage that much I would create fully new mc without engine.
que aro es ese no es de su modelo ¿¿¿¿ring?????
Lol I had one of these!
👍👍👍
Anybody out there who knows where the stater is on 1990 gsxr 750.?
anthony marasco Yes I’m sure plenty of people know where it is. Not trying to be mean but learn to help yourself. If you’re too lazy to buy a service manual at least take all of 30 seconds to Google it.
Up
😎👍👍👍👍
having all the parts is unfair lol
なに1人で軽々エンジン持ち上げてんねん、さすが白人様だわ
Forsale
Wheres the oil and grease stains, spare and broken bolts,..... the swearing of tools vanishing
I thought this was an H !
Jesus you have all new parts this is not a restoration I'm doing a 1985 gpz 900 ATM and I come in from the garage every night filthy it's more satisfying

Head lamp is 10 times better than current suzuki shit lambs.

Parts of your local Suzuki dealer, yeah right mate which parts, only oil propabely, they have nothing for a slabby.
Lol
That exhaust is so ugly
Ugly bike.
