@@a.m_fan let me break it down... 1. My brother is my half brother whose father left him before he was born while mine didnt. He hated me because my father actually tried to be there for me and protect me from my abusive mother yet she only used me to hurt my dad. She turned my brother against me and made him the golden child. 2. He spread rumors and lies in every school I went to and made sure I was the social outcast with next to no friends at all. 3. Our mother allowed him to get drunk at the age of 16, and he would beat me black and blue when he got drunk. 4. He stabbed me twice. Once when I told him how his dad was pathetic when he went on one of his many rants insulting my father. He stabbed me to shit me up. He also stabbed me months later when i refused to give him a robe my dad bought me so his drunk friend who puked all over his clothes could wear it. 5. He and his drunk friends dragged me out kicking and screaming to try and throw me into a bonfire so as to burn me alive. 6. I moved to my dads place when I was 13 and didnt see him again until I was 23. It was when our mother died and he was willed everything of hers. All I got was a letter which expressed my mothers hatred for me. She literally called me a mistake and wished she aborted me. My brother laughed that he had everything, but got angry when I told him he might have money but at least I have a father who loves me. He got enraged and tried to punch me. I punished him so hard it knocked him out. He tried to sue but it didnt work since we were in an office with cameras and witnesses that state it was self defense. I told him I never wanted to speak to him again and that I only wanted to hear about his death. 7. Over the years he became religious and sent people near where I lived to try and preach forgiveness. I told every single last one of those people what a monster my brother was and last I heard he was kicked out of the church. Heard nothing since nor do I care to.
What a Strong Soul the OP is, dont bend the knee towards people who don't value your existence and believe you were a mistake. Your family dont deserve your time or support after all they put you through. The only person i feel bad for is the baby, sad to see it will have 2 foul people for parents. Best of wishes for your future and value the support your getting, cause a little of it can come a long way.❤
Wait until OP's parents push for brother and ex to marry, then the ex realizes she has to take care of everything and pay for majority of things herself due to brother being a failure "entrepreneur"
The best way for his life to get better is to live a happy life. Move to a different city, open your heart and find another partner, someone who will support you and accept you for who you are. What kept giving his brother power over the OP was his reactions, remember the betrayal and don't let it control you. Live a new life, and find joy in life again.
To bad Op was seeing red, the best thing to say to the ex is "Hope he sticks around when he gets bored with you, but hey I'm sure my parents will support you when he is gone look how well they treated me" then block her. Even if she disregards it in the moment cheaters always expect their partners to be unfaithful.
"Justice" ahh. So someone can come to you even with a RO and you'd still be guilty if you defend yourselfµ "Change your name" = yes. Avoid any drama by just get tf out of this family
What is the lesson from this: if you explain to yourself that you don't like something, because you have insecurities, then... It's intuition! Don't drown out the voice that warns you about bad people and don't convince yourself that you have to compromise. No, when it comes to relationships, you don't have to at all! It's 😊better to be close to a smaller number of good people than to be surrounded by a herd of predators.
I'd tell her enjoy your two-faced relationship with my parents who used to undermine and cut you down every time they saw you and now just because you're pregnant with their Golden child baby they automatically love you but when you were with me they hated you
Why did he keep trying to get closer to this family when they constantly rejected and disrespected him? as for his ex, it's probably good, she would have cheated on him anyway, a cheater always cheats 15:34 Why didn't he tell security about the restraining order...
Because we as humans crave love and affection, especially from our parents. Deep down he most probably hoped his parents would change their ways and love him the same way
1st mistake was thinking a woman can stay loyal Sarah is the rule not the example. 2nd was not cutting of the toxic family and 3rd was proposing will to give half your assets and alimony to her for the rest of your life. Also what is with women thinking they are immune to criticism and accountability that they are pregnant. Also why did he not call the cops every single time they violated the restraining order. Also this is why 2a is important.
God damn, his brother isn't one of those ordinary golden child scenarios. I hope OP finds peace in Seattle and handles some Frasier moments _"Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin', Tossed salads and scrambled eggs"_ Stay strong, OP, there are people who are there for you
I hope we get more updates. I can already predict 5-10 years down the line. Op parents will realize they screwed up with the family finally united against them or they want money.
I always find it funny that the question is: "AITA for not forgiving my brother who sh0t me in the leg, st@bbed me in the ribs, kicked me in the head and then asked me for forgiveness because he was only jealous of me?" Like... why is OP even asking if he is in the wrong?
I think Op should move far away from his so-called parent by sending a letter telling them essentially to fuck off cuz now they can have their perfect little family I'm glad that he's moving away from those people and I'm glad someone finally called them out for their favoritism.
Average doormat more like. He had his out at college, and then again when he started working after college. Instead he stuck around like most non golden child OP's do in these ridiculous stories to suffer more years of abuse.
Given how the parents shelled money for a lawyer just to fight the restraining order, I wouldn't be surprised if they do it again just to make sure OP stays in town
The charges will stick, but to a lesser degree than they would if he didn't have an RO, and mainly because the existence of the RO shows that the brother kinda walked into that situation knowing he was doing something he shouldn't. Having an RO isn't carte blanche to throw fists unless they attack first. In a country where a fist fight could easily devolve into a shooting match if someone was carrying you can't condone it when someone swings first. The OP's brother was trying to get a rise out of OP, and the OP played right into his hands - that IS unbalanced behavior regardless of his reasons. The way he acted spitefully towards his co workers slamming his door to scare them is proof he is cracked.
@@mnomadvfx his brother had an affair with his fiance and got her pregnant. I don't know but I think he is pretty calm as most people would do far worse. A RO is a pretty strong document and any action is assumed as self defense, otherwise what is the point of a RO. A public defender would have no trouble fighting any charges stemming from an RO violation especially the protected party. Unless he is proven he went out to get his brother I don't see any DA seeking charges on OP. You have to take the narrative at face value fake or not.
I'm really confused by the whole story. Supposedly she was college educated and yet she somehow fell for the college drop out brother who was draining his parents retirement with multiple failed businesses, thinking he was the better catch? It's also pretty clear that when she told the OP about the affair she was hoping he would forgive it and continue with the marriage - so clearly not soul mates territory otherwise she would have just left him.
@@mnomadvfx Then why didn't she use protection if it was just physical, I think what she has with the fiance was physical at that point.. women feed them lies and show them la la land then they'll throw themselves at you.. being kind and realistic they'll count everything they do for you..
Yet another OP who knows that their home life is laughably unbalanced and yet didn't cut ties once they were out of college. People that do this are the authors of their own misfortune.
@@nehcrum It's not even an error. RO's are not trivial. The sheer effort, time and lawyer cost to go through to get one is so significant that neglecting to use it after getting one is just plain idiotic in the extreme.
What OP should’ve done was have someone else, or make a fake account, and have their brother and ex-fiancée get called out about the cheating. If people want to attack the character of a person then attack their own character.
Exactly. Just no for the thousandth time - the OP is an idiot and should have hit the road the moment he finished college and had a job to afford living on his own. Nothing in the story implies that his family was worth keeping any contact with after that point.
I can only imagine how draining it must have been to deal with Mike’s confrontation at the gym and the subsequent legal battles. It’s inspiring to see you taking control by moving to Seattle, despite the challenges.
They would, but you have to notify the police about it. You can't just claim they were there afterwards, when it suits you. The RO means you call the police whenever they break it, and then let the legal authorities handle it. And then that takes time. An RO is not legal justification to use violence, it's only something you can hand over to the police to show that the police should handle it. Only the police are allowed to enforce a RO, doing so yourself is taking the law into your own hands.
If they increased security at his job, and then had a restraining order in place, how did the mother get inside the workplace? If this is a true story, I hope things get better.
OP needed to go no contact ages ago, report them for violating the restraining order, and walk away whenever they attempted to see him at work. Let them tire themselves out making up nonsense on his co-workers.
How did his parents and Mike manage to get a hold of him still after changing apartments and phone number? Either Emma is double dealing, OP is sloppy about keeping contact details to himself, or this is straight up fake.
Fake or not, I hope there will be an update for this. Sorry, I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories, makes me focus during work. Haha. If ever there's an update, please do so, thank you!
Take the transfer and don't tell anybody only let your boss know that you're transferring if he allows it and don't say nothing to anybody not even her parents or that Emma girl her sister don't say a word
The worse part of this story is that he doesn't go public with the truth and his brother is using that against home. If people go public stay in your truth and make sure the full story is known.
Real or not, folks like Sarah exist and damn themselves. There was NO REASON for her to do what she did, especially when she KNEW the brother's history and kept doing it. The parents will pay for the favoritism more later as the child will for having those two as their parents.
100% NTA. If I was OP in the scenario, there is absolutely no way I would ever forgive them. This is the worst form of betrayal and humiliation a guy can go through. If I was OP, I would’ve told my estranged family “I would rather kidnap a grizzly bear cub and face the wrath of its pissed off mother than forgive any of you.“ At the end of the day, Mike ruined the lives of three people and his family will eventually have to endure the hypocrisy and humiliation of knowing that the child is a b*stard conceived from an affair. Also, OP, you may have lost most of the battles, but you won the war by filing a RO, blocking them and moving away. Mike should be more concerned about the charges being filed against him for violating the restraining order. His assault lawsuit is going to most likely be thrown out because he willingly violated the restraining order and it can be ruled as self-defence. At the end, your ex-fiancée is now experiencing the damage of her actions: she is carrying a baby that was conceived by an affair, her immediate family have disowned her, and her relationship with Mike is not going to last because she was a plaything to him in a successful attempt to hurt his brother. Mike is not the type of person that will settle down with a woman he seduced, and she knows this. That is why she sent that letter with an ultrasound picture because she doesn’t want to lose her ex. But that photo is interpreted as taunting and rubbing salt on the wound. She lost him forever when she cheated on him.
I hate how family plays favorites instead of treating your kids equally raising them equally and then when they're surprised that they go no contact or don't want to help them with something serious they blame them but not themselves
Given what Mike is like, he'll move on, and end up admitting that he screwed Sarah specifically to break up OPs relationship, but now it was time to screw someone else, figuratively and literally. I suspect that the rest of the family will wonder why OP doesn't talk to any of them anymore.
"How her and Mike had found real love" Great. Then f off already. Jesus these people need to learn "You're dead to me" means you are dead to him. Screw off, roll play happy family, and leave the guy you CLEARLY HATE alone.
If he can't win there, and time goes fast.. he needs to focus on himself and cut losses, rebuild in a safe calm not a toxic environment.. he should have done this a long time ago to stay away from them..
Won't surprise me if Mike would end up cheating on Sarah with another woman at some point when he gets tired of being a dad. Will the parents still defend their absolute human waste of a golden child then? Probably since they got a grandkid out of it.
Yeah, Mike's gonna drop Sarah first chance he gets either blaming her for "ruining" his life and shacking up with some other woman just because he can or Sarah makes it obvious she regrets choosing him over OP. The internal fallout over him abandoning Sarah and the baby, or her leaving him, will self destruct the family, those being split between "OP was right" and those who blame OP for not being around, if for no other reason than he was an easy person to pin blame on. Parent's will either continue to back Mike or end up split about him being a horrible person. Personally hope OP holds true to just moving on, even if that means not hearing from them again, but if a big enough stink happens, like say Mike does a dumb thing of going to "Seattle" (quotations in case that's just the placeholder name for where he does end up going to), violating the restraining order again and starting another fight, it would be interesting to see an actual conclusion.

ofc you won't. You're not a doormat
@@sinbadwilliams7186what happened tho?❤
Mike will cheat again once the thrill of taking from his brother wares off, and with out a scapegoat this man child hopefully land on his butt
"Justice" ahh. So someone can come to you even with a RO and you'd still be guilty if you defend yourselfµ
"Change your name" = yes. Avoid any drama by just get tf out of this family
To break a RO is around 3 years in jail
"RUN TO THE HILLS.....RUN FOR YOUR LIFE"......Full witness protection mode!!!!
Iron maiden
Lol put them in the Iron Maiden 🤘
I would love to see further updates on this story in future.
Good luck kind sir. Hope the brother won't be foolish enough, to follow you and family to cause any more ruccus.
I'd tell her enjoy your two-faced relationship with my parents who used to undermine and cut you down every time they saw you and now just because you're pregnant with their Golden child baby they automatically love you but when you were with me they hated you
The brother must be thrown out. Temporarily he must be thrown out of the property.
Why did he keep trying to get closer to this family when they constantly rejected and disrespected him?
as for his ex, it's probably good, she would have cheated on him anyway, a cheater always cheats
15:34 Why didn't he tell security about the restraining order...
Because we as humans crave love and affection, especially from our parents. Deep down he most probably hoped his parents would change their ways and love him the same way
@@iamjustagirlintheworldd I know how it works, but from what he said, he has never received it, and he is quite old
@@Rinefi exactly and that's what makes him even more desperate.
@@iamjustagirlintheworldd his younger traitor is 29, so op is over 30 years old, desperation here should have dried up a long time ago
@@Rinefi You are right. But people and emotions are complex and weird
I hope OP finds peace in Seattle and handles some Frasier moments
_"Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin', Tossed salads and scrambled eggs"_
Stay strong, OP, there are people who are there for you
I heard this from my friends before, "There are better fish in the sea."
Dude use the Restraining order, it's not a piece of decoration, call the cops when they break it and let the officers handle it.
I hope we get more updates. I can already predict 5-10 years down the line. Op parents will realize they screwed up with the family finally united against them or they want money.
If this is real I hope he finds somecpeace and happiness. His family is toxic. Good for him for moving for away
"she was all i wanted in a girlfriend: smart, kind, funny andFor the streets apparently"😂
I always find it funny that the question is: "AITA for not forgiving my brother who sh0t me in the leg, st@bbed me in the ribs, kicked me in the head and then asked me for forgiveness because he was only jealous of me?" Like... why is OP even asking if he is in the wrong?
All Golden Child sons need to be called DAN in these entitled Golden stories, so we can all scream out DO IT FOR DAN! 😂
Aw shit! The Dan story! That one always gets me.
I think Op should move far away from his so-called parent by sending a letter telling them essentially to fuck off cuz now they can have their perfect little family I'm glad that he's moving away from those people and I'm glad someone finally called them out for their favoritism.
Average unfavourable child life experience, such a shame situation like these exists
Average doormat more like.
He had his out at college, and then again when he started working after college.
Instead he stuck around like most non golden child OP's do in these ridiculous stories to suffer more years of abuse.
Would you keep a best friend that slept with your partner? Likely no. Family is no different. Blood doesn’t mean a free pass to be a bastard.
Man someone needs to get this man a blessing 😢
Her parents telling him to grow up is basically saying "move on" after a person loses a loved one
He had a restraining order, the charges against him wont stick. His lawyer sucks. His brother would be arrested.
You have to take the narrative at face value fake or not.
ex-fiance is super delulu😂
what soulmates? They were f*ckmates😂
@@mnomadvfx she wanted op or his family to take back here. Both of them cut ties with here .....only option is this guy
Yep you need to move far away, change your name and go full no contact.
Watch how the parents and brother are gonna be demanding money later.
If I was OP, I would sue his brother and ex-fiancee for defamation and emotional damages (and cyberbullying if possible).
This guy is surrounded by HORRIBLE people. He absolutely needs to move to another city in the dark of night and NEVER contact any of them again
Yet another OP who knows that their home life is laughably unbalanced and yet didn't cut ties once they were out of college.
People that do this are the authors of their own misfortune.
"Anyway I got this restraining order. I'm never going to use it."
Now this is a believable story. No happy end. Just an ending.
Send your parents a letter of disownment and get a restraining order on your parents your brother and Sarah
He already got the RO, his error was in not using it.
@@nehcrum
It's not even an error.
RO's are not trivial.
The sheer effort, time and lawyer cost to go through to get one is so significant that neglecting to use it after getting one is just plain idiotic in the extreme.
This is when the child disowns his parents and anyone who took the side of your younger brother.
What OP should’ve done was have someone else, or make a fake account, and have their brother and ex-fiancée get called out about the cheating. If people want to attack the character of a person then attack their own character.
OP needs to move to another state cutting ties with this toxic family. Move on and OP is NTA.
You know that boss was happy as hell to have OP transferred 😮💨
curiosity got the better of me, so i opened it
Wait I'm not American so people wouldn't get any legal issues for braking a restraining order ???
They would, but you have to notify the police about it.
You can't just claim they were there afterwards, when it suits you. The RO means you call the police whenever they break it, and then let the legal authorities handle it.
And then that takes time.
An RO is not legal justification to use violence, it's only something you can hand over to the police to show that the police should handle it. Only the police are allowed to enforce a RO, doing so yourself is taking the law into your own hands.
I pray for OP’s sake that this ain’t real bc that is so damn sad, mom and lil bro are definitely narcs w/everyone else enabling them
Do it for Mike!
Why are his parents and brother so insistent on keeping a relationship with him
If they increased security at his job, and then had a restraining order in place, how did the mother get inside the workplace? If this is a true story, I hope things get better.
OP needed to go no contact ages ago, report them for violating the restraining order, and walk away whenever they attempted to see him at work.
Let them tire themselves out making up nonsense on his co-workers.
Why get a restraining order if your not gonna report every time they violate it. Stop warning them that you will call police just call them.
Don't keep an eye on the home and someone slips in. That's what you take from these stories.
Credit to op for being stronger than most and being read to rebuild
The place where you messed up was that you keep mentioning the name of the place that you're moving to. Nobody needs to know that, not even reddit!
Hell no be happy with who you are see joy be happy that she told you 😊😊😊
How did his parents and Mike manage to get a hold of him still after changing apartments and phone number? Either Emma is double dealing, OP is sloppy about keeping contact details to himself, or this is straight up fake.
Or that he is moving to another city? I would have NC all the way and only say something after the move
All ill say (if this is real) is good luck to OP going forward. ❤❤❤ 💯
Fake or not, I hope there will be an update for this. Sorry, I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories, makes me focus during work. Haha. If ever there's an update, please do so, thank you!
OP IS EXHAUSTING “THEY TREAT ME LIKE COMPLETE SHIT AND SABOTAGE ME EVERYTIME YET I STILL GO BACK TO THEM” WTF is his problem?
Take the transfer and don't tell anybody only let your boss know that you're transferring if he allows it and don't say nothing to anybody not even her parents or that Emma girl her sister don't say a word
The fact she smelled of cologne was a mad red flag
Dude should have been calling the police every time they violated the RO. That crap builds up and would help with all the legal drama.
I guess it's some-what of a happy ending, OP's parents finally getting called out.
He should be thankful the least she didn't make him raise his brother son as his, but to tell him be in his life as his Uncle.. that S is crazy!
It's so f*ed up that the victim's life is affected so badly instead of the jerks
OP should've kept quiet about the transfer
Cut ties!! F’ed up family all the way around!
The worse part of this story is that he doesn't go public with the truth and his brother is using that against home. If people go public stay in your truth and make sure the full story is known.
Sometimes i listen to these stories and i cannot believe people actually do these things.😮
Real or not, folks like Sarah exist and damn themselves.
There was NO REASON for her to do what she did, especially when she KNEW the brother's history and kept doing it.
The parents will pay for the favoritism more later as the child will for having those two as their parents.
She has no shame. How could she send him a letter talking about her bany needing his uncle? She's insane!!
I know we shouldn't bring kids into the drama but if I was related to them, I will definitely tell the kid that their parents were cheaters
She lost him forever when she cheated on him.
definitely a fiction. But fun to read nonetheless
I would be in the jail, if that happened to me. I am really sorry for OP if this story is real.
I hate how family plays favorites instead of treating your kids equally raising them equally and then when they're surprised that they go no contact or don't want to help them with something serious they blame them but not themselves
The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb
Given what Mike is like, he'll move on, and end up admitting that he screwed Sarah specifically to break up OPs relationship, but now it was time to screw someone else, figuratively and literally. I suspect that the rest of the family will wonder why OP doesn't talk to any of them anymore.
"How her and Mike had found real love"
Great. Then f off already. Jesus these people need to learn "You're dead to me" means you are dead to him. Screw off, roll play happy family, and leave the guy you CLEARLY HATE alone.
Moving to Seattle is a massive L
If he can't win there, and time goes fast.. he needs to focus on himself and cut losses, rebuild in a safe calm not a toxic environment.. he should have done this a long time ago to stay away from them..
Won't surprise me if Mike would end up cheating on Sarah with another woman at some point when he gets tired of being a dad. Will the parents still defend their absolute human waste of a golden child then? Probably since they got a grandkid out of it.
The guys just got back stabbed so much that it left him paralyzed mental, while asking forgiveness, dude just leave them all and cut ties
No you are right. Forget your so called family.
