- In this video we find the issue on my 1978 Triumph Spitfire and are able to drive it again. The Spitfire has had an issue where it stalls intermittently while driving. After tinkering with the Spitfire here and there for the last several months, I have converted to a Weber 32/36 carb, change fuel filter/hose routing, tried a different fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator, but to no avail. Then randomly I find online the factory fuel filter location that I never knew about...
What a cool ass car.
Please keep updating us on this. I'm having the same issue w my 77 spitfire, also running a weber carb. I am also looking for a run-through of Evac system to charcoal filter. Mines deleted, and I'd like to hook it back up.
I can't remember if you've already shown us the inside of your fuel tank, but...
Like you, I've watched a number of videos about removing the fuel tank and throwing in a number of bolts and sloshing the whole mess around a lot to get any loose rust out of the tank. That SOUNDS cheap and simple to me, but only YOU can decide whether that's practical or not.
I've enjoyed watching your progress on this car, and I very much like this car. Alas...I've no license anymore and don't even live on the continent.
🤣🤣
I can only wish you clarity of mind and purpose as you make your action plan. Aloha!
@@jimcabezola3051 next video I’ll try to show off the inside of the rusty tank and give the DIY rust removal an attempt!
@@bluesxt Excellent!!! It really sounds like a worthwhile thing to attempt. I'll be watching. Aloha!
keep it. their too much fun. too easy to work on. tiny enough you can park it perpendicular in the garage. easy on fuel and insurance.
I offed the electric choke and installed manual choke. Much better now.
I can barely hear you. You need a better mic 😊
@@leer.2137 I thought the same. I have ordered one for the future!
