      350 needs to be the new msrp if Sony wants it to keep selling.. Noway would I buy one for 550.00 plus another 60 or so with the adapter and a bluetooth adapter. Total price is over 600 at this point and that is way too much.

      @@PhotoJohn80 350 is stupid for what it actually is. Eye tracking, HDR OLED with unmatched haptics both in the controllers and the headset itself? No way. 450 is more a realistic price, and even then that's cheap for what it is. Bear in mind, someone needs to get these features working on the PC.

    • @andrelip1
      @andrelip1 Месяц назад +3

      That's very strange because I had the opposite experience compared to the Reverb G2 (I haven't tried the Crystal). With the Reverb G2, it feels real, but with the PSVR2, it looks more like a game. The colors seem unnatural, and I can notice a screendoor effect.
      However, one huge advantage of the PSVR2 that no one seems to talk about is the extremely low input lag. Even with all the overhead of Steam Theater, I still have the same reaction time at 120Hz as I do on my 390Hz monitor on Human Benchmark. That's impressive, and it's at least 25ms lower than the G2. With the Quest, that difference could easily reach over 60ms. That latency with the higher FOV should be enough to make it the most competitive headset out there (maybe the Index came close but never tested it).

    Nice video,i had the pimax crystal orginal but the warping and blooming with local dimming made me return it.Maybe i try the crystal light one day..But i still have the quest 3 and now also the psvr2 with the pc adapter...There is something what i realy like with the psvr2 are the colors the blacks and the brightness and it give a different kind off immersion what i realy like even with the shortcomings like the small sweetspot,mura,and the little softer image...And night races or flights or horror games realy shine on the psvr2... I think with the PSVR2 costing so much less than the Pimax Crystal and having lower resolution display panels. I think its only fair to use supersampling to see exactly just how far you can take the fidelity of the PSVR2, its amazing how a console based VR headset has arrived into the PCVR world and really surprised everyone with just how good it is.

    • @gerardsitja
      @gerardsitja Месяц назад +3

      Not really... Just PSVR2 owners are hyped. For the rest it's a pass due to many factors! No HDR, no eye tracking, no improved feedback like in the PS5, needs a specific bluetooth and OpenXR (at least for now) it's not working!

      The missing unique features you mentioned are not used in PCVR games so will not be missed, but the headset has the technology onboard and a simple firmware update could release the whole feature set if the demand was there?
      Many motherboards with the built in bluetooth work just fine with the PSVR2, but there are some adapters that are less successful but isn't that just PCs in general and the need to update the drivers which fixes the bluetooth connection issue in most cases?

Those who say I don't notice any latency, well I really do, my bass shakers work better too, even without latency. wrc rally sees more naturally, and runs very smoothly at 120 hertz. I have PSVR 2 with PC Adapter and yeah it's a treat. I say the same as the author said - the image feels natural. Probably because of colors. And yeah I see mura as some physical effect, sometimes it feels like I have linen bag on my head and it's fun in some sense. Doesn't break the immersion (although can hit the visuals). Another thing about mura - it is rarely seen, I don't see it always. But in menus or may be the sky yeah it can be noticeable.
    As of resolution. Yeah it's not the best, way better than most headsets 3-5 years old, but not as good as some headsets today. However I have merely RTX 3070 on my PC, and for me 2500x2500 oversampling is a cap for my performance, at least for 120 fps. So I don't feel like I am missing something drastic. And yeah - sometimes it is pixelated at the distance. However for me colors and brightness is more fun and important for me

    I know you're impressed with the PSVR2's colour brightness, but think that this is the headset without HDR. When the HDR is working, it's stunning. Also, regarding the aliasing, with eye tracking, the headset would be capable of SS and higher AA with the dynamic foviated rendering. It's only a matter of time before someone gets it all working and really showing what the headset is actually capable of over these other far more expensive options. The PSVR2 really is an incredible headset. It's just a shame the media, for whatever reason, decided to shit all over it.

The lenses of the PSVR 2, which I was initially ok with, are not good at all when you do a side by side comparison with the Q3 and PCL. Also now that I have PCL I will never go back to a headset with less than 2880x2880 resolution because it is simply stunning. 100% it will be personal taste what you prefer more PSVR2 on PC or Pimax Crystal Light. Only few lucky ones will be able to compare both two aside. Personally I'm stressing out as I have few days left before making decision which one VR headset to keep. Have been doing testing but the issue is my VR motion sickness. One lap in Nordschleife and I'm sweating like in sauna, brain is doing overtime, trying to figure out what's going one. Last 3 days - 3 laps with each headset. trying to get used to. If it wouldn't be passion to simracing I would give up on this torture of motion sickness. At the moment I prefer to jump on my flat screen and enjoy it without suffering, yesterday 2 hours GT4 race in Donnington NO PROBLEM! today is both VR headsets big test day! Ohh I forgot the main issue with psvr2 - been struggling with bluetooth controller connection. have bluetooth asus bt500 adapter, usb cable extender. yesterday bought wired mouse to avoid bluetooth interference.. Somehow from what I remember I am leaning towards psvr2 as it feels easier to handle - also it's cheaper. I think from VR I want bigger Field of view (PSVR2) and natural feel (PSVR2). from what I think of I want something what I do not feel on my head when playing - the natural feel - Like less tunnel vision and better lightning.

      That said, stuff like that should work, it's dependent on the game not the headset generally, unless someone can chime in with more knowledge. So you should be able to use it all in the PSVR2 just fine.
      Just note that ACC is one of the worst titles for VR. It has the worst performance and despite having a 4090 I don't even have it installed anymore.

    If they did one more and improved the little blemishes of this then it would have been just about perfect.

      The thing is one isn't better than the other, people will like each for different reasons. PSVR2 was on sale recently so maybe wait and see if that happens again if you're in no rush, but at full price it's still great... but so is the Crystal lol. What didn't you like about the Quest 3?

    NOTE: SteamVR runs worse than Oculus on some titles. Dirt Rally 2 for instance.

    For the price of a Pimax Crystal you can get three.... THREE... 3!!!... PSVR2 headsets. That the only positive thing the Crystal has is resolution and clear lenses with a slightly wider FOV is rather mediocre, and far more mediocre than you rate the earbuds of the PSVR2. Especially considering the price difference.

      Wire is irrelevant for sims though.

      Ohh...Quest 3 fanboy? You love that sweet sweet compression that makes the image a smudgy mess and that motion to photon latency wich is double vs display port headsets. But hey...you have no wire =))) 🤮
