Building A Hidden Base In DayZ’s Gas Zone

- Today, I set out to build a base in one of DayZ's Toxic zones. This would be no easy task, as alongside the base items I would need a full set of NBC gear. This would be my hardest challenge yet, but I was determined to let nothing stop me!
This is a completely raw unscripted adventure, aside from cinematics.

I built a massive solo base in rifty before it was a gas zone on console official. Best base I've ever built or seen.
I really wanna try it on there at some point! Looks well fun

weel in theory you did build on top of a gas zone not in it and the zone can go away if its not static

Building your base should be like vigor and be a safe zone that you can stash your loot without getting robbed after dayz of looting and building. that must suck when your Targeted by a group of people when your home alone cooking up some human steak!!
It does suck, but it’s part of the game, I find it more of a challenge to hide and protect loot, none of our hidden stashed were found so it wasn’t as bad as it could be

Spaggies, so as close to official without it being, I didn’t want to deal with cheaters
Base building in vanilla servers is garbage, better off going on a modded server with base expansion mods, other wise you will get raided within a couple of weeks at best, got 2.5 k hrs experience playing, I feel your pain when losing your base, dayz devs really need to fix their vanilla base building, because it’s far to easy to raid players 😅
The raiding is easy compared to the effort of building, the whole thing needs an overhaul, but I don’t enjoy modded servers, vanilla just hits different

I built a toxic zone base on a vanilla official server with med-high pop, never got raided once. Literally had 2 of the 3 possible humvees, boxes of meds, food, every ammo imaginable, never even put a gate on our front door, instead just a bunch of boxes woth paper that spelt "welcome", wanted to be a gas zone safe haven for anyone who entered but was sad nobody ever did. Of course kept the good weapon stash buried nearby but everything else was free to a good home despite nobody ever coming 🥲 had tents with string lights, floodlights, walls and a couple towers. Also managed to win every "fight" I got into non lethal, using flashbangs and flanks to hold people up and force them to take as much help as me and my duo could offer xp
Only problem is the hackers, parked our good humvee outside the zone one night when logging off, buried a wheel and all the parts literally 200 meters away in rhe most concealed bush ever, when we logged back on the stash was gone and same with our humvee, feltbadman.

"simple context" sure if you dont count the amount of shit you need to make one thing. Ofc a lot rides on the server configurations which are in almost every server just poorly done. Loot is too easy to come by in every server....
That’s why I play vanilla, I don’t enjoy the over modded stuff, it’s more of an adventure and story than just holding SHIFT with 6 guns in your bag
