- My mission for today's adventure on Bitterroot in DayZ was simple: get the best gear on the map and then find as much pvp action as possible. Luckily, that's exactly what I was able to accomplish. Bitterroot has quickly become my favorite map in DayZ, it has a great balance of amazing locations, loot, and interactions while still providing a vanilla-like experience.

As someone with over 3,000 hours in dayz it’s so refreshing seeing a real unscripted dayz video.
All the big dayz youtubers script parts of their videos and take handouts from admins which after realizing this pretty much ruined watching dayz vids for me, but I’ll definitely be watching more of your vids.

I still watch their videos sometimes even tho they aren’t true to the real dayz experience just because they put so much work into making them fun to watch.

as someone who lived in montana, bitterroot is such an amazing map, i DEFINITELY need to hop on it sometime, would be great fun
You should definitely check it out! It does a great job of capturing the visuals of that area! Also, I feel like the map is the perfect size with fantastic loot progression! There are only a few days left on this playtest, so you gotta check it out before it shuts down!

Hey dude, just came across your vid randomly. Back in middle school (I’m 24 now) I watched a guy named MrBlackout on RUclips who made DayZ vids, I fell in love with the game at that point but never played till it came on console and been on it since the Beta.

This map is called Bitterroot! It's currently under development and is occasionally temporarily available for testing as it's not finished yet. The next playtest is coming on December 15th, which I believe will include many new POIs and areas! You should be able to play then 👍
A lot of the time, I notice things I didn't notice at all while playing as I'm going back through the footage and editing it 🤣

Does it bother anyone else that you can’t see your gun or equipment in 1st person? For this reason I can only play in 3rd. Breaks immersion for me.
It is nice to be able to see your how your character looks in 3rd person once you've got some nice gear, but the third-person peeking advantage kind of ruins PVP for me, which is why I only play on first person servers!
You always put out highly entertaining and authentic vids. It's such a nice change. Not sure how you survived setting off that grenade on the uncon dude lol

That's exactly right for the official game! But this was a custom map made by someone else, so the loot pool is a bit different!

@danielecetarini472 Umm, not necessarily better! It's just a different experience! The OG official map, Chernarus, is massive in size and sometimes I play for hours without seeing anyone, so sometimes I like to play other smaller custom maps where I can run into other players more often! They are just different 👍

The server was the US Bitterroot Playest server! It will be temporarily available again starting on December 15th
Cant find any servers with more than 10 people running this map, sad, i really wanted to give it a shot
The official playtest servers for this map are currently offline until the next playtest in a month or two! When the official ones are back up, they will be probably pretty full most of the time! I usually had to wait in a queue

Just takes time! But I think some of the best advice is to play slower because most kills in DayZ are determined by seeing the other survivor first and taking the first shot 👍
I don’t get how y’all find the bodies that you killed I always struggle to find em 💀
It's much easier once some time has passed and you can hear the sound of the flies 🤣

Happy to hear you enjoy the videos!! Learning DayZ will be pretty rough at first, but if you stick with it and learn the survival basics, you can have a ton of fun! I started with official, then branched out to community servers and other maps! Some beginner guide videos can also be very helpful, I watched a lot of guides on RUclips by bwad99 and nitno when I started 👍

Everyone has different preferences! These days, I've been picking up the m16 more than before, but I still prefer a full auto weapon if possible 👍

I usually find a stack of 3 to 4 7.62x39 bullets in the town where I spawn haha

I have approximately 4 day of knowledge I’ve built my first fire heater I’ve done 3 since I’m getting Better at killing zombies and a friendly survivor showed me to hope on cars when zombies are tailing you
Yea if you have a bunch of zombies chasing you, you can climb up on anything and just kill them safely! It's a good tip 👍

There is always someone better. As a solo player I enjoyed this video. I thrive from wipe to wipe not dying at all in some pretty long times between the wipes. Stealth is key for me.

@@scholarcormier I really think its better to look out for pvp rather than look for it. I do a lot of waiting, watching and listening. Move a lot slower than most guys. Let them show themselves and then take them out.

Hahaha, yeah it was pretty foolish to stand in the window like that in hindsight 🤣 That 3rd party scenario along with my loadout was the perfect storm for snagging up a bunch of kills 😁

what are the t4 spots for loot on the map?
It's changed a lot since there have been many updates to the map since this video! In the current iteration, the best gear is all in the Northwest at the Falcon Rock Military Complex area 👍👍
I want to love this game, and my friend begs me to play it.
It just seems it really takes time and patience, two things I don't really have, plus losing everything you just spent hours collecting can seriously infuriate me lol.
I agree it definitely takes tons of time and patience to enjoy the game. I think you need to play in sessions of at least 3-4 hours! However, the first hour or two of a new life when you're starting out are my favorite! Once I'm completely kitted out, have everything I'd ever need, and am just looking for other players, I actually start getting a bit bored and look forward to starting over again 👍👍

How to stealth zombie kill
Just sneak up behind a zombie by crouch walking, then left click with a small bladed melee weapon in your hands! If the zombie notices you at all, it doesn't work! 👍
