It's a series, and like in a film, the scenes/shots have always an explanation. So it's easy to understand the last shot. (As you mention here👍)

The show literally just gave you the answer you're looking for. The only thing it hasn't done is putting a neon sign on it.

I like that they rub it to your face and you still wonder who it is. 😂😂😂😂😂.

The main medical reason behind the typical societal taboo on incest (i.e. human inbreeding) is the exponential likelihood of congenital defects to occur in offspring. One such defect could be a cleft lip (colloquially known as "harelip").

Helene Albers... we are never told her full story. It's dark enough... but it may be even darker.
On the Dark wiki, (warning: spolers there), she is listed as the "wife" of Hermann Albers (the farmer guy with the 33 killed sheep in 1984), with a maiden name given as "Wolf", but that is never mentioned in the show itself.
Instead, she introduces herself as "Helene Albers" already here in 1954, at Mrs. Obendorf's.
At that point, she would be 11 or 12... and she is there for the obvious reason. Girls of that age didn't get married in Germany, not even in that era. Not even in a "shotgun marriage". And that, after all, is what women like Mrs. Obendorf are for.
So it's more likely that she is a born Albers.
Now it is possible that this, ehm ,"situation" that lead her to Mrs. Obendorf was the result of some consensual encounter; kids fooling around, like we see with Claudia (who was just Helene's age) and Tronte.
It's possible that this situation had nothing to do with Hermann Albers - who is listed in the big family tree as the father of Katharina. He may be some distant cousin that Helene met and married much later.
But let's be real... this is Winden. This is "Dark". It doesn't shy away from this sort of things, even if they aren't spelled out directly.
So it's more likely that Helene was the victim of sexual assault within the family, and that Hermann is a very close relative, perhaps even a brother. We don't know if he was the father of the child in 1954... it may have been someone else... father or uncle.
It may not even be her first time... what she says about her mother "she told me that those you do away with will go to Hell", might be in regard to one that she _did_ get rid of.
And it might not be the last time. This was 1954. Katharina was born around 1968.
15 years of this. At least. And like a lot of victims of abuse, she seems to blame herself... and projects this view on others.
It's no surprise that she turned into this bitter creature with this attitude towards her daughter Katharina.
Birth control was not that easily available in the 1950s. The pill was a development of the 60s, and while condoms were available, they were still the responsibility of the man to use. Which is unlikely, given the attitude we see here from Egon.

Helene's maiden name is shown in the show, it's not just a detail from a random fandom wiki. The name is written on the bunker walls and it was part of the show until they sneakily edited it away when S3 aired. Originally the name tag of Helene in S2 read "Frau H. Wolf", but is now changed to Albers instead. Anyway what still baffles me is the fact that Helene is only named "Wolf" in Adam's world. The bunker credits every person with their full name in both worlds and in Adam's world she is called "Wolf" and in Eva's world "Albers".

You are so funny to watch Carmen 🙃 Don't you think every reaction you have might be the reason of the series?🤔 Being in love (both ways) isn't a crime, and as it appears finally, it is not. You are not ready for the things to come very soon now...

actually whole knot is known by this episode . except for few side points like who hannah's baby is. this reactor is bit over analyzing, discounting the obvious.
rest is mainly unraveling the knot.
