Learned to drive on a 1961 2 stroke bull nose SAAB. I am so fortunate to have been young when so many interesting cars were available. My HS nickname was SAAB John.
I am so fortunate to have had TWO SAAB 96 that had the 850 CC engines, one was a pea green 1965 and the other was a early 1967 "Monte Carlo" triple carburetor with oil injection, beige in colour. These SAABS are absolutely a blast to drive, very forgiving and very safe. Thanks for the video
Thankyou for the video. We have owned 15 Saaba since 1962 when we marrief The kast was a 5:43 Viggen...and after we signed the papers,I was presented with an invitation to an auto driving school in Atlanta for Viggen owners..Thr insructor started the 1st day class saying " Im going to teach you how to do all the things you always wanted to do" A great werkend in 90bdegree weather and s dinner with Saab executive's !! Jerry Jodice( my son Jim is carrying on the Saab ownership tradition )
That is the way to master a two stroke, front wheel car!! Allways keep your revs up 6000- 6500 rpm,you will ensure traction and awesome stability all the way!!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
It would be fun to prank cops with one of these. They’d think your going like 120 or something daft when you are only going about.. uh..., twelve miles an hour.
I had a 2 stroke Monte Carlo Loved it but getting correct mixture could be difficult at times. It was a smokey strokeynot everyone appreciated the exhaust in city centre on a damp day!
Hi. I fell in love with Saab when I saw a Monte Carlo model at the Motor show in Brussels almost 50 years ago. I used to drive a 9000cs Talladega and a 9-3 My friend in Tokyo still has his blue 96. I envy him! Saab for ever ! Greetings from Japan.
Even if you could no longer have a two stroke engine, it would be awesome if this car could be reproduced today, absolutely a very beautiful car. Cheers from Southern California. 👏👏 (ps: My daily driver/work truck, is a 66 VW beetle)
Can't remember last time I saw a Saab 96 in the UK, back in the early 70s my biology teach at school had a grey one it looked so different to everything else on the carpark, clearly he was a petrol head lol.
Plenty (well, quite a few!) around still, including a couple of imported GT850s and - soon - my "new to me" ex-Saab Finland rally team 96 Sport. Come along to SOC GB Saabfest in July to see (and smell) some of them .....

💓💓💓 j’adore cette symphonie musicale !!!!
Si VOLVO était très connu en France dans les années 60-70, SAAB était inconnu.
J' avais lu que cette voiture était très performante sur la neige.
Amazing footage. My ears in flow.
The sound is epic! 😊

The video was uploaded 1 hour ago and you're there 4 days earlier? What kind of time travel technique is that?
@@thelastwoltzer Easy, I have a friend with an old police phonebox. He knows a thing or two about timetravel.
