“Distance” is the first of a series of videos we have shot for “The Storm Within” album.
Working very closely with Patric Ullaeus and rEvolver Film Company our aim was to recreate the eerie and desolate sense we had while writing the songs for this - the 10th Evergrey album - One could say this is our first real attempt at inviting everyone into the cinematic world where we have been in mind and thought throughout this year while writing. We think the imagery speaks for itself. This is just the beginning. The storm is coming.

I only JUST started listening to them, and I feel you! Though, one other band with a similar sound to these guys that invoked the same feeling for me is Sevendust, especially the songs "Waffle" and "Licking Creme"
Like I wrote two years ago, THESE GUYS DESERVE MORE CREDIT...For me they are the Kings of melancholic tune and a really amzing band!!!!!

This is my all time Favorite Prog Metal Band since 1998 ! I wish I had a million dollars because I would put these guys on every Rock station in America! These guys deserves a Grammy for every Album they release..Period!

This is by far their best song till today (2023) surprising, epic, catchy and dark for the genre. Maybe just epic is enough. What an amazing riff. One of the few all-time great bands.

Until a couple of months ago i'd never heard anything by Evergrey, they are an undiscovered gem for me. Every song I have heard so far is powerful and epic.

Evergrey is one of the most fantastic bands I've ever listened to! I've bought all the albuns! There isn't anything that sounds like them! Tom has this huge voice, and the whole group sounds like a wall of heavy and melodic notes! Love this song! Can't wait for the new record! =D

Massive & Epic. I listen to hundreds of bands from around the world 🌎. Evergrey is truly one of my top five favorite bands. So heavy, powerful , soulful and Pure! Thankfully I found out about them 🎸 🤘

I saw them live yesterday in Milan and it was one of the most intense experiences in my whole life.

this is what is called a certain instrumental style. this is how you recognize bands, if u want to change genres every time you should probably check out amorphis or some other bands.
btw hymns for the broken is far off this track and heavier in my opinion.
In terms of songwriting Hymn of the Broken can easily be considered their strongest and most mature album. I feel that in your eyes if it's not heavy, fast-paced and uber progressive, it's not good? Think again, bands change, the band is going somewhere, you're not.

When they released "The Storm Within" I thought "ok, this is the best Evergrey album, after that they can keep good as this". I was wrong. Only masterpieces comes after. It is hard to choose which one is better.
I don't know one single Evergrey Song yet I didn't like. Usually, every Band has some weak or "not so strong" Songs, but not for them! Please never stop making such great music.

This is my number 1 favorite band. These albums/songs mean more to me than anything else. Nothing else makes me feel this way. I love thousands of other bands, but this one fills my broken soul. I hope The Dark Discovery will be re-recorded one day and made to it's true 100% potential.

I must have listened to "in search of truth" and "solitude, dominance, tragedy" thousands of times. Have watched "a night to remember" countless times. I won't be missing anything you guys do again.

I'm glad they always have fresh ideas for their songs and videos, the singer still walks around in the middle of nowhere, there's water set in reverse motion, and the most shocking thing about this song is that its exactly the same tempo as "King Of Errors"!
