Louise, I love watching you paint your jar lids!!! I find these glass jars a bit more difficult than the ones with the tin lids!!! But so fun to do!!! Doing another show in early November, inside thank goodness! What I have the most difficulty with is taping the lids!!! But improving!!!! TFS!!

I love the fall colors! I know it's early, but the time of baked hard squash and pumpkin pies will soon be on us. The heat wave has finally broken. The wild life is reviving. Yesterday I see a golden eagle jump of a branch and start gliding down the river looking for fish. Today was a humourous one. A hawk went over head and was being pursued by a starling raising all kinds of hell.
Yeah Ozwald for the break from heat! All creatures grateful for sure and I’ve seen the smaller birds protecting their young in frantic noisy pursuit of their predators! I look forward to fall

Hi BGL and welcome😘 to my channel. This is the Bloom technique and in the Bloom technique there are three parts, the pillow, the paints mixed with your pouring medium, and the cell activator. The cell activator goes on last because that is what helps create the cells when you blow out the bloom. I suggest you spend a little time, looking at some of my creations to see how I do this the order and which I do things in and if you wanna look at my cell activator recipe, it’s a video 141 that shows how I make it and with what. I also have a video 140 that shows you how I make my pouring medium. Can you tell me how you found me? I’m just curious.

Thank you, Karen, I’m so glad you’re learning so much and getting you out of my videos. If you look at video 141 or I make my American floral better recipe you’ll see I use American Floetrol, water, paint and Minwax pristine wood conditioner that is in the red can and that is oil-based. So I’m not sure what you’re seeing on Amazon with oil but look at my video 141 and I have all the ingredients called out. I hope this helps.😀

I’m confused about the terminology. Is “pillow” the same as “base coat” ? Does the pillow have to be house paint? Is the house paint watered to a certain consistency? BTW your work is genius! Thank you
@@mmills5951 thank you and yes, in the Bloom technique the pillow is equivalent to the basecoat in other techniques. I have only used house paint because it is far less expensive than regular acrylic paints, and it’s generally thicker so you don’t need to do much to it. I look for about a four second trace off the stick when checking the consistency of my pillow paints. If you wanna look, I have a tutorial video 140 on how I check my pouring medium consistency, and I also cover in that my pillow consistency. Also have a 141 which is eight minutes in covers how I create my cell activator.

It just happens to be where the pillow paint or base paint comes from, Home Depot. You can also get paint from Sherwin-Williams. I’m sure you can find paint and other places that would be suitable as a pillow.

Why can’t you just give us a product name AKC 40 7621 in Rose gold what the hell was that? I don’t know what that is. I don’t know what company that is. I don’t know where to get that, don’t give us information. Maybe you’ve been doing this 25 years but I haven’t and I don’t know where to get this information is vague and I can’t do this if I don’t have the information so what I will do is what I know how to do is go to Dollar General and get cheap ass paint because I can’t find our 273968G4 in, Gothic black or whatever I don’t know what that is I don’t know where to get those you don’t give information

Lord use what ever you want you can get the same results with about anything just remember to let it dry completely before you resin because using a pillow paint makes it so thick and moisture will make resin eventually turn yellow
@@stevewalls5070 hi Steve, I’ve actually made the mistake using incorrect paints and got disasters so I don’t think I can use any old paint that would be nice, but that’s part of the art and the science behind us is having the right ingredients. You are right about the resident, the resident I use though is UV resistant and it holds up much better.
@@cindiegillson8464 hi Cindie, Once these are resined, they are quite durable. I’ve never done any kind of wear test to see how many times you can open and close, but I would imagine these would last quite a few years with normal usage.

Would a spatula like for turning hamburgers work to pick up ur jar lids and cup?

Lord use what ever you want you can get the same results with about anything just remember to let it dry completely before you resin because using a pillow paint makes it so thick and moisture will make resin eventually turn yellow
@@stevewalls5070 hi Steve, I’ve actually made the mistake using incorrect paints and got disasters so I don’t think I can use any old paint that would be nice, but that’s part of the art and the science behind us is having the right ingredients. You are right about the resident, the resident I use though is UV resistant and it holds up much better.

@@cindiegillson8464 hi Cindie, Once these are resined, they are quite durable. I’ve never done any kind of wear test to see how many times you can open and close, but I would imagine these would last quite a few years with normal usage.
Louis, How did you get your so shiny? Did you use shiny paint? Also do you seal it later with resin?
