I'm someone who draws only when inspired (which happens not so often), that's why I can't really improve my drawing skills. Your drawings, they inspire me! Thank you!
Exactly the same , I can’t force my self to draw if I don’t feel like it , if I wasn’t procrastinating I would’ve improved faster, but as long as you enjoy it , it’s good unless u want to be professional.
I can't describe it but for the first time art made me cry. Maybe because I like looking at the buildings but your style moved me so hard, there is something in your painting that makes me feel curious and full of emotions. The only words I can say are thank you so much, you are amazing arist and keep painting/drawing these beautiful buildings.
I wouldn't say its total exaggeration. As an artist myself, Ive come across art pieces as well as animations which invoke so much emotion that I actually start tearing up or sobbing. Don't judge if you haven't experienced it. It is possible. Also there are people who are called empaths who feel emotion much more strongly than others so they cry more easily and are moved more easily. Yes it could possibly be that they were aiming for a top comment, but I feel her comment is genuine.
Sena ya‘ll need to get your sticks out of your behinds seriously. People can be moved by whatever they‘re moved by, we get emotional because something might remind us of a certain thing. it feels nostalgic for some reason, for example. sorta embarassing to judge someone on what they feel inside lol
I have stopped drawing for many years after a sad time in my life, until i found your amazing inspiring work. And thanks to these videos i have decided to resume my art once again. Thank you so much for sharing your talent, it is always a joy to watch.
These brought back the nostalgia from my trip to Japan last October. You captured it wonderfully, makes me miss walking around lookig at all the gorgeous buildings and temples. Thank you!
This is so beautiful, I learned a lot from this videos. If one day I could be as good as you, I will be like someone like you who share own skills and knowledge for other people. Thanks!
mesmerised by how you turned nothing into a wonderfully picturesque and immersive setting. reminds me so much of Ghibli studio and I love Ghibli! I love your artwork!
A beautiful end to a beautiful series, the colour palette is so soothing and this is such a peaceful image, it has great movement from the bottom to the top with the plants - amazing!!
I enjoy these images very much! Its satisfying to watch how you lay in that watercolor. The colors are so vivid and playful. Love the aqua and blues. Also really like your way of bringing in shadows.
O, kureczka wodna! Jak to miło spotkać (trochę przypadkiem - miniaturka mnie przyciągnęła) swojaka na drugim końcu świata i internetu. :) Przepiękna ilustracja! Życzę wielu sukcesów!
This series was incredible, and i discovered your work thanks to it. You have inspired me so much, and i can't wait for your next project. Thank you for sharing so much stuff online :)
Will you have a video such as Tree tutorial? OMG I'm so in love with the way you painted trees or the bushes, simple but still makes great effects. I'm totally your fan after watching 2 videos of yours and I'm a huge fan of Studio Ghibli too, I watched all their films! Really hope your tutorial about painting trees cause I'm really suck at this, looking forward for your advices! Hope you'll have nice day!
Thank you. Your palette really reminds me of Makoto Shinkai's animes. Thank you for sharing your art. I saw your series in Artstation. And then I noticed it in Behance, then I was delighted to see that you had recorded your process. I love everything about this. I can't stress that enough. It makes it hard to pick between paintings with lineart and without. Thank you again.
I really feel more comfortable with lines than without (when it comes to watercolours) hahaha :) Thanks for watching! There will be more content coming as I start working on something new!
I don't know if anyone has told you this before but the amount of detail in your work reminds me very much of old Herge comics, :D your work has become very dear to me because of this keep it up!
Thank you for sharing these videos, they provide so much inspiration and they are fantastic paintings ! Question....in a future video could you explain more of your thought process while painting? I would like to know your strategy for simplifying and adapting a painting from a photo reference. Maybe you could have the photo and painting side by side . Thanks again!
OK, I will try! I usually use more than one photo as reference but do not draw directly what I see. I pick the best parts form each one. I will try to show or explain it in the next video.
Beautiful and elegant, as always. I'm looking forward to see your next project! Would you consider making a small video tutorial somewhere in between on how to use watercolors? How to mix colors, how to use water etc. I tried few quick sketches from landscape and I failed hard, my colors didn't make any sense :)
I love your work. I am an Illustration Student and I love Japanese Architecture and drawing with watercolours-I do my best to become as good as you are :)
I just found your video series and love your use of color and line! I look forward to more. Since I can't afford all the colors yo use, could you recommend a12, maybe the ones you used in this series? Thanks!
They are a sign that the shop is open (as in "in business" now) and also have the name of the shop or what the shop sells on them. In some cases they are used to make shade on hot days too.
@@mattjabbar Thank you. I often saw these in anime and thought they are in the way when you want to go in. Is it more a traditional thing or are modern restaurant still having them? What are they called?
Depending on the content from 1 to 3 days. Some shots of Tokyo I did where really detailed so it takes a lot of time. 1 background per day is the ideal speed.
I'm someone who draws only when inspired (which happens not so often), that's why I can't really improve my drawing skills. Your drawings, they inspire me! Thank you!
Glad to hear that this inspired you! This is exactly the reason why I make the videos.

I'm was thinking about something like that but I would have to put more time to it than I have. Making art is my priority right now :)
Totally understandable, good to hear you have this idea in your mind, maybe you'll have little more time for it.
I love your work. I am an Illustration Student and I love Japanese Architecture and drawing with watercolours-I do my best to become as good as you are :)

It would be good to have a tutorial?
I’m a beginner, may i know what is the art supply he used in 2:58 to 3:07? 😅
This is called "masking fluid" 👍
Loved ths serie, This building is maybe my favorite, amazing work !
Will this series be printed in a little book ? I would so buy that
I will do an art book when I gather a little bit more material to put into it. (one more project or so).
Would you recommend a pen that's water resistant perfect for watercolor painting? Thanm you
Searching Kanban doesn't show any stores
I wonder what these curtains on the door are for.
They are called "noren" a lot of places that has more traditional design still uses them.
Beauty!
is this possible for color pencil?
What was the type of building called, I couldn't catch it. Camban?
Thank you for sharing. We will visit Japan by April, may I know how do you call the ERASER you used in removing the dried marking fluid?
It’s the eraser for the pilot Frixion pens you can usually find it on stands with those pens. It’s called fu-ri-ku-syo-n ke-shi gomu in Japanese.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
What brand color do you use to drain?
Your English is so good, though your painting are very nice.
Why japan so artsy. They place something on purpose, passionate works.
what is the structure on the left of the building? is it a decoration?
It's a lantern (decoration and advertisement)
Beautiful work, you grasp very well the Japanese spirit.
What is that gum-like product you used for the blue sign?you erased it afterwards.
It's called "masking fluid" and there are a lot of versions. I use the one made by Holbein.
Cool
Really Love all the series!
I have a question about your job in Comix Wave, How much time do you spent in making 1 background for "Your Name" ?
Depending on the content from 1 to 3 days. Some shots of Tokyo I did where really detailed so it takes a lot of time. 1 background per day is the ideal speed.
That's Fast! In term of hours, how many hours per day do you works on it?
I'm an aspiring artist, your " Right Places" animation really inspire me!
From 10 AM to 8PM more or less
would be awesome if you could make all 4 sides of the buildings
Yes, I also want to paint the insides!
can anyone please give me a advice for watercolor painting? :
What pen did you use for this art piece?
英語だから何をゆっているか分からないけどとりあえずすごいことは分かった。寿司屋さんかな?
