That she WAS at all is some kind of miracle, a perfect, thus undeserved, gift to humankind. Not only witty & gritty, she was a towering voice & art. Completely integrated, whole.
I own this DVD & only regret that Patricia Routledge the Great was chosen to narrate Kaff's voice. Love Routledge but nothing like the warm dark & rich contralto speaking voice that was, in its way, as beautiful as Ferrier's singing voice. How I miss her! And I know her only through recordings, written documents & the loveliest hearsay. Thx for this treat, my dear lochness11 ❤

Yes, Kath's voice was remarkable------it went straight to the soul of the listener.
Unique in all senses of the word. Thankyou for commenting.

Listen to her live recording of Gluck at Amsterdam in 1946 and you will realise how good she really was. Fantastic.
