Same here. Truly a great character to watch. I loved everything about Gus. I even walk into work with such great composure minus the meth business.
1:43 when he says “deliberate” you hear Gus come out immediately. Crazy how intense he can make that sound.

Gus was Breaking Bad's Kingpin, he's experienced, maintains a public facade and knows how to keep his criminal operations secret and running long term without getting caught.

Man, this character 'Gus' still baffles in so many ways and the way Mr. Giancarlo has played the character it's hard to believe that the person sitting here having a funny chat is not a drug lord, a ruthless drug lord. Hats off to him!!
I've watched through the show twice and Salud is still my favorite episode. That look he gives Don Eladio, at the tipping point... gets me every time.

Giancarlo Esposito is easily one of THE most underrated actors of all time!
Who would've thought that he was gonna be the main antagonist of a video game. He can play the role of a sinister villain so well and I admire him for it.

+Artem T-rex arms Lobov It's been a while, but that's not true to my recollection. Gus told Walt if he had come to him, he would have dealt with them, but instead Jessie went off to kill them himself. Walt had to step in and kill them first to protect Jessie.

Still, I'll bet if I watched it again (which I might do sometime soon, I really loved that show), I'd probably agree with your assessment. Gus was a professional, but he did all manner of shady things. Whatever morals he held were confusing without a lot of context.
Walt is a bad character. And just because of what you wrote, I did not like it from the beginning.

Such a great actor! My husband and I just watched this Breaking Bad series during the pandemic--we are so impressed with this character! (I know, I know, everyone has seen it along ago--so new to us and we loved this actor!)

Twice the interviewer interrupted Giancarlo, twice Gian got frustrated. Then he spoke about how Gus changed him and the importance of pauses.... Then the interviewer interrupted for a third, and scary last time....

Giancarlo was incredible in breaking but alot of people know him as buggin' out from spike Lee's - do the right thing. That's where and when Giancarlo jumped out and grabbed America as a character method actor. He was no joke in that. He should have been in way more prominent roles. The good thing for many breaking fans is we will start to see him in alot more TV and movies now!
