      And yet, Giancarlo himself is such a sweet guy! Bryan Cranston has spoken about how great Giancarlo is to work with, and how different he is from Gus Fring. High praise like that from a phenomenal actor like Bryan Cranston speaks volumes about Giancarlo's character.

    Fring was even more terrifying in BCS. The way he threatened Nacho’s dad and even showed some of his rage (albeit in a scaled down way) to his minimum wage Los Pollos staff whom he usually only shows his affable side to was frightening. So good

      He was in the Steppenwolf production of “Balm in Gilead” with Glenn Headley, Gary Sinese, Steven Bauer, Mark Margolis, and the inimitable Laurie Metcalf, directed by the brilliant John Malkovich. I saw it in New York in 1984, and I have worshipped each and every one of them since.
      The scenes at Don Eladio’s place in Breaking Bad are particularly exciting for me since they’re like a Steppenwolf reunion!

      I can only speak for myself here but I loathe the possibility of WW in Better Call Saul in any way. Lame ass fan service, too cheesy too forced. Getting Gail was good enough for me. At least I guess if they ARE gonna do WW, I hope they wait as long as they can. They're sure to get another few seasons, bridging the gap to breaking bad so soon in this current season would be garbage in my humble opinion

    • @jllamb88
      @jllamb88 5 лет назад +32

      Gus was more stable than Walt. More loyal too, as long as you didn't overstep or screw up. Gus was a careful businessman. He hired people who were happy making money and had no desire for more power. Look at the people Gus chose to hire:
      Mike Ehrmantraut. Gale Boetticher. Werner Ziegler. These guys were happy to make money and stick to the jobs they were paid to do. They were all low-key, professional, and tight-lipped (Gale might have potentially been an exception but we never got to see that play out).
      Gus was generally good to his employees. Gus only tried to kill Walt because Walt was dishonest and a real loose cannon who was bad for business. And Jessie knew too much, was loyal to Walt, and his drug addiction made him a massive liability. He only killed Victor because he overstepped his authority in learning to cook, and that's the first sign of being power hungry (he was also seen by multiple witnesses in Gale's apartment - sloppy).
      In short, I'd rather work for Gus than work with Walt any day.

      Johnston Steiner
      I met a traveller from an antique land
      Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
      Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the sand,
      Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
      And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
      Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
      Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
      The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
      And on the pedestal these words appear:
      ‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
      Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
      Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
      Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
      The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

    I think Giancarlo must be confusing directors with somebody from a different episode. The director of this episode was Michelle MacLaren, one of the most seasoned Breaking Bad directors, definitely doesn't match the description he's giving.

    • @user-or4ky1pw5z
      @user-or4ky1pw5z 5 лет назад +2

      Yeah, not sure what that was about. The director of the first episode is also a woman, and the director of the third episode is kind of a TV veteran who's really respected for his work, like the episode Chicanery (meaning it's unlikely he was 'frightened')

    There is an even better show to be made post BB and the plot should go something like this: The cartel finally find Jimmy and instead of killing him, they take him to their kingpin, who presents him an opportunity to make good by working for them as their money launderer created from their blue meth distribution. The kingpin is actually a queen-pin so to speak, a very beautiful & powerful Latina in her mid 30's, she is the new boss in town. Jimmy, asks the question: How are you even able make blue meth without a great cook like Walter White? The queen-pin smiles and says: My husband is the cook. That's when Jesse appears, and says: Sup..... BITCH!!!
