@@onemoreminute0543 Yes! I think, like in the 1st comment, Gus' injuries were so extensive that he was "stunned and numbed," yet as you pointed out, despite his numbness, he was all business while maintaining the upmost professionalism rt until the very end! His brain was basically gone, yet he maintained the 2nd nature and instinct to straighten his tie! So Gus, and Vince Gillian's (sp?) brilliance!
I love how it was Giancarlo who came up with the idea for Gus's last act to be straightening his tie. It took a village to come up with all the bits and pieces that together make Breaking Bad unpredictable
Some people seem that to think breaking bad encourages and glorifies drugs, but if you think about it, it actually depicts ice in a very accurate and realistic way and shows the massive negative effect it holds.
Some random nazi That's the truth. There are no heros. No one gets out better for the experience. Lives lost, ruined... Nothing glorious about any of it.
It shows the effect mainly on main characters and their psychology. It does not show the exact issues with the drugs on society as a whole or any larger group. The Wire, however, does that
It's crazy how people can say that about the show and believe that they're right. Every single character in the show goes through an emotionally crippling or physically painful experience because of the drugs.
Giancarlo was absolutely brilliant. Nobody else could have pulled off that role. It was genius. But that's what happened in that series. It was this perfect storm of perfect typecasting of actors with outstanding writing, directing, and production values (including the sound and music)... The detail, the complexity, the research, and the depth of character development was pure gold (this defined many of these actors forever. even the ones that had already experienced successful careers, this was the big one). This level of sophistication hadn't happened previously, and it hasn't happened since. I got rid of my cable TV after the whole thing ended. No need to have it anymore. The show was over.
i did too, but after watching this explanation from the actor himself, I think it's more fitting to think of Gus as someone who would know when he was about to die and know to make one last gesture of professionalism and dignity in full, conscious awareness of what was coming next
Guys no one is going to fucking walk after being next to an explosion like that. It was just artistic expression for the viewer. In reality gus never left that room
@@dramamine755 Plenty of people can walk for a few seconds after a dramatic explosion/bullet/etc. Have you even seen videos of real bombs/people getting dismembered? "artistic expression" what a dumb ass
I like his point of view about adjusting the necktie at the end. I thought it was because he was in denial, thinking he'd walk away, but he was so poised that he was preparing himself for the next stage of life. Realistic or not, it's just great storytelling.
I love how intune Gus was with reality, even to his last conscious decision he knew he was done, yet still had the elegance and properness to fix his tie before he passed to the next life. Still one of the best villain deaths of all time I remember SCREAMING because I legitimately thought he somehow survived

This guy has some serious talent! i actually clicked on this just to hear him being himself..his roles are so convincing, u almost believe he IS what he is playing...his role on Revolution was off the scale good, man he was a badass!!!
I never thought of it like he was preparing for the afterlife when he died, i saw it like this. Gus had so many plans in motion so many things were going on in his head that he had planned out, and he was convinced he would see them through and like always come out unscathed he thought he was going to walk out that door and get back to business, and i feel he couldn't accept the fact that this was his final moment
Hm, it almost feels like that's how they planned it: he makes it out of the room, "unhurt", only for them to reveal that he was finished. Quite a build-up.
I loved how he died, he was so in character. Half of his face was blown off but he fixed his tie and made sure he looked professional in his final moments. Amazing actor

Giancarlo portrayed Gus Fring brilliantly. I was continually amazed at how his facial expressions, his eyes, his body language...somehow communicated Gus's rage at times.
@@jamikatechaos9972 VRAVO BINCE!
I see it like that too, but whether he thought he’d live or die, he adjusted his tie because he was preparing to go!
The pool scene broke my heart, was so happy when the bodies hit the floor later
I loved his character so intimidating without even showing much emotions
Well...he did slit a mans throat with a boxcutter...so theres that
@@kalstonii still didnt show any emotions
I love how it was Giancarlo who came up with the idea for Gus's last act to be straightening his tie. It took a village to come up with all the bits and pieces that together make Breaking Bad unpredictable
To go from the character “Buggin Out” to Gus Fring is just incredible range. This man is BRILLIANT.
The Wire, however, does that
I think it is mostly the prohibition of it than the stuff itself.
@@grumpyboomer61
100% agreed!
You clearly hold this show in high regard. It does deserve it though.
Giancarlo, you played this character to such a level. Excellent job, truely one of the great performances in tv history.
I took Gus fixing his tie after the explosion as he didn't realize that he was that hurt and that he was just keeping things as business as usual.
nah he realised, the scream as soon as he noticed the bomb on hector's wheelchair shows that
i did too, but after watching this explanation from the actor himself, I think it's more fitting to think of Gus as someone who would know when he was about to die and know to make one last gesture of professionalism and dignity in full, conscious awareness of what was coming next
@@norwegiannignog2470 Yeah tell that man to talk to soldiers from overseas whom seen this stuff first hand.
I love how they're discussing his super dark character while he's sitting there chillin' in his stripey socks! I adore Giancarlo!
That's exactly how Gus Fring would talk about something like this ;)
I like his point of view about adjusting the necktie at the end. I thought it was because he was in denial, thinking he'd walk away, but he was so poised that he was preparing himself for the next stage of life. Realistic or not, it's just great storytelling.
He had an accent in Breaking Bad. I can't hear his accent now.
That’s what Americans tend to do to accents
Kenny Jr he is Italian
Born in Denmark, raised in the U.S. since age 6.
he had an accent in breaking bad because he was playing a chilean!
he plays a chilean in show, only uses his accent during meth business. you can hear him talking to his los pollos employees in an american accent
I love how intune Gus was with reality, even to his last conscious decision he knew he was done, yet still had the elegance and properness to fix his tie before he passed to the next life.
Still one of the best villain deaths of all time I remember SCREAMING because I legitimately thought he somehow survived
I LOVED HIM. I kind of didn't want to continue the 5th season because Gus was no more. However, we did. I liked Mike too. How I loved Gus so much. What a talented person.
Yeah same here, I hated to see Gus get killed. But I also really liked Jonathan Banks as Mike. He is a brilliant actor also, very scary dude, but also respectable.
This guy has some serious talent! i actually clicked on this just to hear him being himself..his roles are so convincing, u almost believe he IS what he is playing...his role on Revolution was off the scale good, man he was a badass!!!
But that Spanish was terrible and he is playing chilean. wtf!?
@@milanmladjenovic1556, Gus left Chile when he was really young.
Gus definitely needs his own show!!!!
Fring was the true boss, White just got lucky
Xerox Re just cause you kill Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James.
Xerox Re nah white didn't get lucky. He was a brilliant chemist. His only problems were having a loose cannon partner and he ran before he walked.
he was the best chemist, but he wasn't a business man like Gus.
White has the plot protection program
Gus's downfall was his need for revenge
There’s not enough words to describe how amazing Giancarlo played Gus! Not taking away from the work from the characters as a whole but Gus is what brought me back again and again.
His performance in both series is absolutely award winning! Cold, cold as ice! Fantastic!
This man is a performing genius. I can’t get enough of his roles, he always excels.
No wonder it was this guy’s idea to straighten his tie at the end, that was such a brilliant detail
Brilliant actor. All the subtle layered emotional nuanced realistic facial expression of a shrewd and careful dangerous man. One of the few and most realistic depiction of what a real life villain would look like.
Truly, one of the most underrated actors. This guy needs to have his own hit movies.
One of my favorite things about Gus is how put together he is and it’s so awesome to hear that’s part of Giancarlo’s interpretation
It's so weird seeing the guy acting completely normal after seeing him in Breaking Bad
Shows how good these guys are at acting.
@@chadgrov yes you're right. Gus is very good at acting like giancarlo esposito
Wait till you see the twins IRL
They're so fun IRL unlike the series where they are silent assassins
Giancarlo Esposito is such an incredible talent. One of our finest actors.
He should've won an Emmy.
I couldn’t be the only one who thought he survived the explosion at first
that was the idea
He did, and then the shock set in from the extreme trauma and died of it.
I did too.
i actually wanted him to survive lol
@@hlzion If he survived he would have turned into hector salamanca 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The man pulled off an incredible performance as Gus...simply amazing. What an outstanding actor Giancarlo really is...he's top drawer, no question at all. Hats off to you, Sir.
The genius in which Giancarlo played this role, cannot even be measured...
Giancarlo has been absolutely brilliant in this final season. His portrayal is so nuanced , so complex …he is scary as hell
Giancarlo - this man is amazing
Giancarlo Esposito did a magnificent job playing that part, right to the bitter end of the role!!! Thank you sir you helped round out the show
The fact that he understood what kind of character it was going to be is amazing.
Giancarlo Esposito has been one of my favorite actors in the whole world. Very talented. ...
He brings incredible gravitas to his character.. one of the most unforgettable characters, villainous, on TV!
Giancarlo was the best actor when this series came out.....and I look forward to seeing his work for years to come....he is excellent. Glad he has shared his talents to the world!
Gus Fring is one of the greatest villains ever created.
The final scene of Gus was the best television I’ve even seen!!
His character brought gravitas to the show. Structured , calm yet scary
Such a powerful scene too. Fixing the tie was perfect, you see that he does care about respect and appearance. Also how fitting that him and Tucos uncle die together?
There a moral to the story here too....Don't meth with with Walter white !!
He's such a brilliant actor, I'll admire his work as Gus forever
Really love that Vince gives the actors so much freedom to craft the characters how they imagine it
I want a Gus Fring Spinoff.
Ben Feehely yeah, rooe in WHISC training of mercenaries to do brutal counter-unsurgency in Nicaragua and Columbia...
Bring him back to life i suppose?
What an incredibly layered character, Giancarlo did a magnificent job bringing Gus Fring to us.
It’s a amazing how this show never got old all the way through..
total underrated. would love to see him in really huge movies as a main character.. his calm passive agressive acting is fucking intimidating and was just insane.
Incredible performance by Giancarlo Esposito. Truly one of the most memorable villains of all time for me.
Gus Fring even as the bad guy..... was so likable because he was calm, polite and professional. Enjoy your meal
Yes, very professional and always polite and friendly. Until it was time to NOT be polite and friendly. What a unique character, brilliant!
He is an unbelievable actor. Worth watching Breaking Bad just to see him.
Giancarlo is absolutely riveting, not just as Gus but as a storyteller!
Giancarlo portrayed Gus Fring brilliantly. I was continually amazed at how his facial expressions, his eyes, his body language...somehow communicated Gus's rage at times. He was the master of the game face and he didn't reveal anything to his enemies. I was enthralled week after week and even thought Gus Fring's character eclipsed Walter White's. I was thrilled to find Gus again in Better Call Saul. Thank you, Giancarlo, for your amazing work and the great memories of such a complicated character.
I was not ready for how energetic and pleasant sounding he was when he spoke
That last walk still gives me goosebumps
Rewatched breaking bad during this isolation. I haven't watched it since it first came out and WOW, still as amazing as I remember. This time around, I was so impressed; SO IMPRESSED by Giancarlo. This time around he became my favorite character to love and to loathe.
I love the way he talks about Gus Fring, he really understands the character
About to watch the final season. Gus was an amazingly complex character that we hated to lose. Terrific.
You are amazing!!!!! We wanted more of you, Giancarlo!
He is a very good actor
