I made this for my 3 yr. Old granddaughter who wears tutu’s over everything! She’s a princess 24/7😂. It looks darling at first but bunches up and looks ratty after a while.. any suggestions to stop that from happening? Thanks!!❤
Tulle, especially the stuff that most people use is not high quality tulle. You might want to try organza or bridal quality tulle. It'll cost much more ($20 p/yard vs $4 p/yard). You could also experiment with other lightweight fabrics like chiffon.
Thanks for sharing your tutu making with us. I want to add a bottom layer of Taffeta as a petticoat to give more volume. Do I just make a circular skirt or does it require more fullness. Thanks so much.
@@HelloSewing thank you for responding, I’ve just been on the verge of tears…I was struggling to get the fabric to stay in place while I was trying to cut it etc. I’ll keep trying though 🙏
@@HelloSewingThere is always someone bringing the negativity 🙄. I appreciate this video, so thank you! It was apparent with your tutorial that you could glue, or sew, and the tying was an added bonus 😅. My daughter's costume is perfect now thanks to your instructions! ❤
Written DIY TUTU tutorial hellosewing.com/how-to-make-a-tutu/
Can’t wait to make
Lovely idea. Guessing you could use almost any draping fabric for this.
I had my husband drag out my sewing machine, but after watching your video, I only need to sew the elastic by hand now. Thank you very much!
I have another video on a tulle skirt where you can actually use your sewing machine. It's gorgeous!
Thank YOU‼️😘 I’m going to make my Tu Tu instead of ordering it on Amazon.
Try it - it is really easy and once you get the hang of it, you can make it really fast

Looks great. How many yards needed for an adult, for a Halloween costume?
Depends on the size
For plus size I would buy 3yds.

I’ll summarize it for you, cut tulle into strips.
No need to fold, unfold, fold, unfold. Exhausted already 🥱
Its easier to cit the tulle when folded

Awesome Thanks so much. May God Bless you and your family ❤

Confusing
What is the name of the fabric?
tulle
Tulle, voile or organza
This is so infuriatingly difficult for me…how does anyone get fabric to work properly without assistance???
Can you explain where exactly you face difficulties

No sew, proceeds to sew.
You can tie the elastic obviously ->no sew
