I’ve been trying to build a map based on southern Ontario for the longest time now, but can’t wrap my head around the map editor. This is perfect for what I’m looking for, thank you!
I live about a 100 miles south of the exact area this map is based off of, and I have to say you have the aesthetics of rural southeastern Michigan down to a tee! Really well done
A stunning map! Bay Port IRL is about 60 miles from where I'm at in Michigan's Tri-Cities. You've done an incredible job capturing both realistic detail and vibe. It's a very ecologically interesting part of the state, a lot of natural beauty in the sparsity. A sparsity I took it upon myself to end, building a city of 230k people where the community of Bay Port resides 😅 I've also scattered out population (about another 73k) in the rural areas into one midsized suburb and a couple little farming communities. I unfortunately have ran out my CPU's capabilities at this point and must abandon until I can upgrade my CPU, but this has been my absolute favorite build in C:S II to date. Thank you building one helluva canvas!
Map will release on Paradox Mods shortly before this video is released! Please read the map description on Paradox Mods for map dependencies and notes. Fantastic work Rafterman! Beautiful detailing. You're truly an artist. I know it was a bit of a struggle to get all those map tiles like that but I think it was worth it. I really like the development style it creates.
Absolutely stunning piece of work. The CS dev team need to hire you ASAP. Thank you for your generous contribution for making this game so much better.
@@Misty-Mountain-Gaming Thanks for the wonderful words! They really should. ;) I'm currently creating a city and a series based around that build, so it'll probably be a while if I ever end up planning on map making tutorials. Life's quite busy. But you never know!
this is absolutely stunning work. almost feels like building anything on it will ruin the beautiful landscape.. anyways, 8 lane highway and some walmarts should do the trick
Another brilliant map! I’ll be hopping on this straight away. Question though, sometimes in PDX it states the version is not compatible, any solutions as I’m all up to date
What are your settings? My volumetric clouds for example always trip out... I have a pretty good pc so id be able to use your settings with only a bit of fps drop
Once I have free time, I plan on taking a comprehensive dive into the settings I've developed over the last few maps and putting it into a how to video, with a Google Drive link or something. Volumetrics included. Those are really hard to get right.
Hi. Please answer me i need your help. i like your map and its detailing, but it was too detailed so i didnt see invisible zones and markers. i built a big city realistic city on this map and only with population over 60k i noticed that there are thousands of sheeps all over my city... also i didnt see that there were pedestrian zones where fields located. so my people are walking around the city in every direction through the buildings etc. with thousands of sheeps... is there any way i can delete animals spawners (markers) and pedestrian zones without rebuilding my city from scratch? thank you! all the mods are installed and removing every marker by one will take forever...
You're talking about Dunedin. Download Better Bulldozer and you can filter the option to select spawners. It will make them visible so you can delete them. There are a lot of them, regrettably it wasn't the best part of the experiment. :) That's the solution to that problem though. It shouldn't take forever, they're all localized.
This map encompasses everything that CSII should have been upon vanilla release. Absolutely stunning!
Thanks! With some limitations on map texturing they might always have, but that's what modders are for. :D
Damn, just the thumbnail alone tells me this is another banger from you!
Cheers! I hope so!
infrastructurist pls do series on this map!
Beautiful map, beautifully presented video. I’m all for more detailing on maps, love how you’re pushing map creation forward
Cheers Sully!
Can't wait to see your next project. Hearing some EPIC things!
I've been pining for a high quality rural American map like this. Thank you so much for what you do for the community!
Cheers! Hope you enjoy it. :D

Awesome! I've noticed this great lakes esthetic really transfers well.
Wow! Another great map bro. Looks amazing. Keep up the great work.
Thankya! Much appreciated :D

Absolutely amazing video and amazing map! 10/10 work as always and can't wait to build on it!
Cheers! :D Can't wait to see what you do with the map.
Excellent work, truly stunning map. I really like how you are pushing the limits on CS2!
Cheers! That's the hope!
So is hoping nothing breaks. lol
great detailing man! love it!

Yeah, luckily when I realized what was happening with the crashes, smooth sailing after that!
I waited for a map like this since the 2.0 to start a new city. Great job!
This is super coooool! Thank you so much for this creation ❤
What a stunning map!! Im blown away! Amazing work! ❤
Cheers! Thanks!
This is one of those maps you build a smallish town on and let the detail do the map do the talking.
Absolutely. 🙌
This map is simply stunning!! Reminds me of parts of Illinois near where I live if you take out Lake Huron.
Indeed! I wanted it to capture the midwest feel!
@@RaftermanNZ well you certainly did that!!!
RaftermanNZ for the new batch of cs2 base map designs
🙌
This is stunning. The only downside is the conflicting feeling of paving over paradise - maybe thats the point. Either way great work!
I love giving people that hard choice.
But, what's better than turning paradise into an 8 lane stroad?
incredible. always thought maps with a start like this would be way more fun and i tried making one myself. this one is insane though hollyyy good job
I found myself on every build making my maps look like this first before building on them, so I figured this was a good way map type to make!
@@RaftermanNZ damn haha! yeah definitely 👍
Very nice map , good work , thank you, it's clear to see how much afford you spent on it
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning piece of work. The CS dev team need to hire you ASAP. Thank you for your generous contribution for making this game so much better.
Also, would you consider making a video to show the basics about how to get started in creating custom maps like this?

But you never know!
As a rural guy, this map feels like home in too much ways. I know what i'll be working on for the days to come !!! Awesome work.
I've been dying to have an awesome rural lake map like this since CS1, so I'm stoked about this map.
Now I can finally play the second part :) Greetings from Reaper.
Cheers! :D
this is the type of map you don't wanna build anything on. too good😆
That's the philosophy. :)
Amazing map!
Thanks! :D
It's not just beautiful, it is majestic.
Well done.
Cheers!
I actually live near bay port😅 great map by the way, keep up the good work man
Should have popped over for some Fish Sandwich Festival delights!
Beautifull map.❤
Just that New-Zealand one😊
Thankyouuu :)
Awsome work!!
Cheers! Thanks!
Definitely want to build a massive industrial Great Lakes city here…
DEW IT!
This is amazing. We should have gotten stock maps like this, they would be an appropriate improvement over CS1 maps after 8 years.
Agreeeeed!
amazing map as always.
Cheers.
looks amazing bud.
Cheers!
Absolutely beautiful
Cheers! Thanks!
OMG I wish the farms had bales and sprinklers like that automatically
Right?! These are super nice props.
Absolutely epic, now I will go and cry in GeForce Now
Tears up in Intel.
WOOOOOOWWWW! AMAZING!
Thanks!!!
this is absolutely stunning work. almost feels like building anything on it will ruin the beautiful landscape..
anyways, 8 lane highway and some walmarts should do the trick
It's only natural. I wouldn't hold it against you.
looks like home!
Indeed it does!
10/10 map would definately live there.
if i was a hey bale
Eventually everone bales out though.
I refuse to delete anything on this map. Nah great job 👍
Sameee
Oh this is so great, I can't wait for me to ruin this map with my crappy building style. But I'm trying not to this time 😊
Regretfully, I need to brush up on my city building skills now. Been making maps for too long.
This map makes me wish I actually played this game rather than just watch content creators
Same.
Since I mostly just make maps these days. lol!
your maps are just too good - I completely fail to build something that compliments them, ruin them easy peasy
top work and thank you
I feel that, when I decide to build cities on this map, it'll be the same story!
This map has a really big problem. I wouldn't build anything here because it is to beautiful like it is.
I only saw your first sentence before I was able to read the rest.
The heart attack you gave me I'd rate a 10/10 wouldn't want one again.
LOL
Another brilliant map! I’ll be hopping on this straight away. Question though, sometimes in PDX it states the version is not compatible, any solutions as I’m all up to date
That's an issue with PDX mods being goofy. Is this map showing out of date?
@@RaftermanNZ no, I can use this one and Dunedin which is amazing also btw, GG
What graphics settings do i use to achieve the beautiful aesthetic in this video?
At some point I'll put out a video of how! Stay tuned.
@@RaftermanNZ I'll stay tuned for that thanks!
Please do a European Map in the same framework, please !!!
Need to find some solid data over that way!

Can maps crash like move it mods? I am very afraid to try mods because I fear they could crash but I am also getting tired of the default maps
Mods often have unstable bits to them, but you're generally fine if you read the mod descriptions on known issues!
I fear the map has to many bumps
The world is pretty bumpy. 🤷♂

Now we just need some fishing mechanics.
amazing map, are the clouds during the cinematic a mod?
Nope! Just some magic with the photo mode. Eventually I plan on making a tutorial, so stick around for a video one of these days.
