It's important for everyone to understand cirteria for this tier list. Its combination of mechanics, power and skill/effort needed to kill ALL OTHER SPECS in game. So if Sub rogue is in same tier with Survival hunter it doesnt mean they are both bad. Survival hunter doesnt have a good chance beating most classes even when mastered, unlike Sub who can own 70-80% specs if mained.

I recently started playing BGs in Wrath Classic and literally everyone has 4k gearscore. Maybe it's a topic for a video, "playing with inferior gear." It seems to be a long journey to get full PvP equipment, especially if you're working on raiding Pre-BIS as well, even though you can use some pieces for both.
@@Nitidus Its a long journey till u get BIS. But also u can be Game BIS if there is still no content for that, we have to wait each patch and progress for that, combining raid and arena gear to get BIS in PvP

Can i ask if you will ever do an arena guide for Hunters in the current classic wotlk expantion? On the internet there are only guides with BiS equip so the game is much different from the 200 - 205 IL of current classic expantion.

Hey, honestly i dont have any experience as hunter in arena. I started Classic and i my idea is to try arena and do same arena vids with Ret/preg pala as partner. We will see how it gonna look like. Mm hunter is one of the hardest specs in arena

In my opinion, feral druid is insanely hard to master, you have to play as dps, tank and healer at the same time. And it its true you are more like an over time dps and you need to cyclone/root to kite and heal
Hey Nibbai, I'm considering making a caster alt, but I never played a caster before. What would you suggest between Warlock or Priest?
Sp is probably the easiest caster to play + it got many utilities and defensives and healing and it's quite durable and doesn't require a lot of skill unlike lock which requires some cc chain set ups in order to be deadly which is kinda difficult for a beginner to handle
Idk mate, both are awesome its just up to you. I would suggest Priest if you want to play arena too because it has more available comps in 2s

Nibbai, did you know you can go invis cat as Boomkin and /cast Starfall /cast Shadowmeld macro. The sound of Starfall will be gone and the enemies can't see you. Wonder how this could work with 3 Boomkins in 3v3
I have no idea how it workd in 3s xd. But they can pretty much reveal you easily or just get out of range. Healers can also heal that amount if you 3 just press starfall and thats it

PvE is mostly bis, but in arena you should have some pvp pieces too
Man I think Enhancement it's so hard. You have to use Stormstrike and Lava Lash every 6 secs, keep an eye on maelstrom procs all the time and decide if you're gonna heal or deal damage, renew your lighting shield, maybe use fire nova (which gives great damage). And I haven't talk about the hundred totens for a lot of different situations...
All the shaman specs have pretty high skillcap ceiling when it comes to totem usage - Precasting grounding to get another one popped off at the right time, switching fire totems, making sure you're on the range of totems at all times etc makes the difference between good and a bad shaman player :) Also it's very mana hungry spec, and pretty much only real way to get more mana is to either take dmg or use your only defencive CD
Un 1.8 with enha but... With elemental its more hard. But the thing is, melé clases...are very broken and I thing server have múltiple LOS bugs, but ita he ser to play BCS The Red are much full chars un low rating middle and higth

@@Dreamonology warrior and dk: hit anything thats off CD or glows. Rogue: keep SnD and poison up. Ret paladin: 1 button macro. Any class can be simplified to look really easy and ofc can be played like an total ape, but the skill ceiling is where the difference between parsing 80s or 100s come to play
Sub is one if the easier class and always was, as they were the first class to have a cool down to counter an enemy cooldown. Rogue was and always will be one of the most faceroll classes 1v1. But in 2s and vs more than 1 the class becomes a lot more demanding and requires some brainpower.
Thats why there is 85% absolute clueless rogues
i have 8 clases some of them bis like my rogue . and i find rogue the hardest class to play . with my mage i win 1000000 more duels than with my rogue

I would LOVE to see you figure out demo lock. I'm trying to make demo work... going full resil haste. I think the key is to use infernal / pet switch when stuns have diminishing returns. Demo win condition on paper should be fear into molten core incinerates + soulfire execute. Otherwise plain shadowbolts are average dps and can be interrupted, while incinerates kinda suck vs non immolated targets and no molten core. I've had fun moments where demo felt super easy, going into form charging and melting melees and casters, but most of the time it feels clunky.
Not that much to figure out. You're 100% correct about the clunkyness, too reliant on hardcasting and while meta is strong it's impossible to force defensives from your enemies without it, leaving it easily countered. Tried to make it work back in the day and I agree with his conclusion, casters are impossible (maybe ele and booms on a sunny day). Melees are beatable but it's no burst and more of a grind where you win only if you're better than them and get casts off. Wins felt like you won in spite of beeing demo rather than because and thus felt somewhat rewarding though frustrating. Even when freecasting in bgs it falls behind other caster specs sadly.
@@TheLiandriCorp Thanks for your awnser. A way to play around the hard casting weakness is that Demo can use both shadow and fire schools to decent effect. So weaving in a shadowbolt when you'd rather incinerate can be an ok way to bait the opponent kick and switch to fire for example, or baiting with incinerate when you want to cast fear. As you said, that basically means you have to be very prepared for the matchup to match up to simpler classes...
I have a friend who plays Shadow priest, slience/dispell/disarm could help tip the scales and allow Demo to deliever it's potential, even vs casters/ams dks & healers/bladestorming wars.
As for falling behind while free casting, I tend play a supportive role in bg's, sacrificing dps to CoTongues and fear opponents, keeping an eye on my healers, until a lucky molten core proc opens the window of competitive dps/meta burst.
There's no denying tho that spamming curses and dots at 41/36 range with affliction feels way smoother.
@Pierre-Yves Machavoine Good point with the magic schools, it is an overlooked perk thats more relevant for demo than the other specs.
Spec identity is an issue I have with demo, the theme is cool (and pve it was great fun tbh) but I fail to see what it brings to the table compared to the other specs. Most of what makes demo strong is the great baseline warlock kit, that makes warlocks strong. Outside that it's pretty much the meta cd, some actual magic school diversity and a great buff for the teammates (and perhaps feldom-felguard for an surprise axe toss to totally catch people off guard).
It wins because you play the class good, not the spec, and it feels more like a flex as you're playing with a handicap (outside a couple of melee duels). =(
I vividly remember a guy called Mastawarlock who as far as I know was the single demo player to push decent ratings on his own merit and was an avid demo ambassador on forums and such XD
Perhaps more players had some success with demo since on priv servers or such, at least I'm glad to hear that you carry the torch into this new era!

Meta COULD work maybe in battlegrounds, after some cc has been thrown and support from ally cc. Requires some setting up and still clunky I guess
You need to know that Classic wrath spec and dps performance is different than warmane atm, classes are tuned differently, bis and a lot of stuff is very different. unholy does more dps than on warmane, fire mage also etc etc
First this is pvp, second i know i play classic too. This is mostly for endgame gear and overal game mechanics, but yes it is differnt a lot from now

Indeed, felt as if the list became somewhat conflicted between "effort AND results" instead of "effort FOR results" (such as MM where it's only easy matchups if you're really good). I'd like to see a breakdown of mechanics as well because a spec can be hard because it's clunky and you are forced to outplay every enemy or it's hard because the potential is limitles, the later being more interesting.

You actually have a good chance at beating every class, but u need end game gear with spirit/mana regen stacking.
Some fire mages actually were top 3 in 1v1 tournaments on warmane. Its. Solid

Wouldnt agree with that. Space is the key. Good traps, good detterence, disengage, pet knock. Only lucky disarms can play big role

While I don't disagree with much in this video I will point out that RESISTS in Wrath compared to TBC and Warmane are NOT screwing around which changes a few matchups for a few classes.
For example: 6.5 Resist = 1% Spell Damage reduction and Full Resist chance vs non-damaging spells, compared to Resilience needing 47 rating per 1% damage reduction.
Prismatic gems 4 all resists are easy to get, there is also theoretically a 5 resist all prismatic to compare to say 20 resilience gem.
Resists are STACKING in Wrath Classic unlike Warmane, possibly a bug. But a consistent one if it is. So things like Resist Aura, Totems, Mark of the Wild (Drums of the Wild), Lesser Resist Flask (50 all resists persists though death)... its ALL stacking.
Example of the madness = Paladin + Shaman can have 237 Resist Fire/Frost/Nature/Shadow = 36% damage reduction before you even touch any resist gear.
70 Specific Resist Bracers, 25 Specific Head, 7 Resist all Shoulders / Cloak, 8 Specific Gloves. Put 20 Resil Gems where you can and Prismatic Resists gems in rest for socket bonus and things get VERY interesting very quickly.
I am playing a Spell Hanse Shaman with 242 Fire/Frost/Nature Resist and 222 Shadow Resist, 20% Resilience. All non-dispelable. If I drums or have Mark of Wild on things it gets dumb.
Point being... Classes that have easy access to Resist in there tool kit such as Priest (shadow), Paladin, Druid, Shaman can do some fun stuff with even basic resist gear.
A Preg paladin with 60% Spell damage reduction for example can be a thing.
Ret Paladin with 300+ Shadow Resistance (That's Aura 130 + LW Bracers 70 + 25 Head Enchant, +20 Cloak Enchant, +20 Shoulder Enchant, +8 Armor Kit Gloves, + 50 Resist All Potion, and +57 Resist all Drums of the Wild if crazy = 380 SR = 58% Damage Reduction.
If you want the raw math... each Resist point is worth 66.6666% more than it was in TBC and the resist system is MUCH more consistent sense it changed from a 0% / 25% / 50% / 75% / 100%... aka 5 possibilities... to a 10% system aka 11 possibilities.
Point being = at 40% damage reduction... 50% of spell hits are 40% damage reduction, 40% are either 30% or 50% with 10% being 20% or 60%+... I NEVER got a 0% Resist in testing or even a 10%.
Very consistent.
Mate this is insanely stupid what are you talking about. You can do that but is it normal to wear 300% resist gear? You can wear that, but thats doing exactly no one in whole server, so that has absolutely no point there. Tryharding against 1 spec in game and changing complete gear is ...really no point. We talk about normal gear what you wear against ANYONE.And what are u desagreeing about? If its about resistance you can go somewhere other and talk about it, i dont wanna read

Priest, Paladin, Shaman can with a bracer swap... 1 potion... 1 drums of the wild = 307 resist. 46% Damage reduction + 22-32% Resilience. That's aura 130 + 50 pot + 57 drums + 70LW Bracer Chant... if enemy brough 130 spell pen = 26% spell reduction + Resilience. And you don't really lose that much DPS or Stats...
This is notably for making Ret and Preg Paladin specifically FAR better. Shaman as well. Hance was always good vs Casters so might be overkill in pvp.
Not sure if Shadow Priests or Druids care about this.
Oh, also you are being hypocritical here. In some of your guides you say you like to have resilience++ vs certain classes. Which is MUCH harder to gear swap to than resists.
Why tell me in guides waring X level of Resilience = OK and wise but Resists = bad and dumb?
Nah... it depends how easily you can do X and under what conditions.
Kitty Cat druid jumps me out of no where... can I put on a shield? Yes. Can I swap to resilience gear? No.
Shadow Priest falls out the sky. Can I resist up? Yes. By about 107 Resist all. 157 if you are truly insane and want to Lesser Resist Potion AND Flask. Both count as physical and can't be dispelled...
No one on Warmane ever said you couldn't use resists... they just didn't STACK so 130 Spell Pen = Spell Pen Cap for most conditions.

@@NibbaiWotlk Pacthed I meant. For a while there everything was stacking. They seem to have fixed that but the Lesser Resist Flask, 50 all resists is still stacking so that's interesting.
4 Resist All Gem = -.62% Spell Damage
20 Resil Gem = -.41% ALL Damage
Factor in one is for all damage + Cirt and the other is Spell Damage + % chance to ignore spell effects and the game seems shockingly well balanced.
My Theory is that Resists will be good for any class that comes with resists and doesn't really have issues vs melee but does have issues vs casters...
So... Preg, Ret, Ele, Hanse
Pick a caster you REALLY hate and stack that resist a bit and things can get interesting. 70 Bracer, 25 head, 20 Cloak, 8 gloves, 20 Shoulders, aura or totem and resist pot = 274 + 50... thats with no 30 resist all ring or gems.
If I was playing ret (and I still might) I would do this + possibly full resil and 30 resist all ring = 174 SR without potion even vs enemies with 130 spell pen... that would be 27% Shadow Damage reduction and chance to resist shadow based effects on top of 30% Resilance?? like what? Clearly overkill.
Shadow Resist stacking vs NR stacking is the big question. Hex, Cyclone, Wind Sheer are all NR checks... but I think Shadow wins just because how scary Locks and Spriest are + DK pestilence is a SR check and I kind of like the idea of it having a 40% chance to fail.
Unstable Affliction starts becoming dispellable with high SR as it is a double resist check... aka if you fully resist the damage = no silence but if you take damage there is still a silence resist check. Also it starts to do very little damage.
Resists are a funny animal to quantify in duels / pvp on account of the value of resisting this or that the enemy was relying on to do its job.
Oh right... I think Rouge Posions are NR checks which gets REALLY funny cause they never take any spell pen. DK Spell interrupt is also a resist check but... seems a minor thing have to test if you can screw them with high FR.
A good rogue easily beats a good shadow in 1v1 he opens him with cheap shot kidney into garrote and the shadow is dead.. If he uses trinket obviously rog will blind and start from the beginning. On top of that he has cloak 2 vanish and trinket, just in case :D

Its worth to give it a try if you got a little tired of your sub. KS is just a burst and needs to be done after an enemy has been pushed to use defending cds
I know, i tried to play Combat in duels without just KS but setup. Its very hard to beat even average players
Ele roots are not perma roots, they have DR and are 10.5 seconds. They can miss also. You need to use frost shocks, when there isn't spell reflects up on the warrior, otherwise relying solely on roots will result in a loss. Don't forget you even if you kite in ghost wolf form, if you get far enough the warrior can and should charge, stun/hamstring. Ghostwolf doesn't remove impairments. Hex might buy you a moment, before they trinket it. Mage has a better chance, along with destro. Fears however can be broken easily. Don't forget cloth + sunders = death for cloth wearers. Spriest would likely roast a warrior due to massive dot damage and dispersion. Frost mage would and has for years put up a good fight against warriors, countering them since classic vanilla. Warrior has a strong toolkit of defensive and offensive CD's, interrupts, charges, stuns, and MS. There is no way it is in any shape a difficult pvp class outside of stance dancing. Mid class at most.
You lose to majority as warr, if thats not hard i dont know what is. And thr point is, with proper use of cds you can do pretty well against average players. But again, thry scale insanely with sm and bis gear. Its just another dimension from furious gear. Every hit is crit, arp is insane, rage is always there, flat dmg is insane. You dont ever use sander against clothers its a waste of GCD
But you can easily sunder them, in between other GCDs. The scaling with gear is just the cherry on top of warriors, they are basic and easy to play in pvp. The most skill a warrior needs is balancing stances for those CDs. Casters are in the bag for you, feral and rogue also. Having defensive and offensive CDs coupled with reflects, and that flat damage, you are playing a top tier and easy class. But if you don't know how to play a warrior, it would seem difficult for you.@@NibbaiWotlk
Ele shamans and warlocks have 0 defensive CDs, meaning they are relying on burst. You can easily keep them interrupted and stunned, as they can't properly kite without going too far out of range for charges to be usable, or to end up being too close for stuns/hamstrings/.interrupts. But not knowing because you only play one class is why you argue warriors are difficult and can't beat other classes.@@NibbaiWotlk
The shear amount a warrior has to its advantage is disgusting. Heroic throw, interrupt, shield wall, shield block, MS, pummel, sweeping strikes, bladestorm. The list goes on and on, charge, intercept etc. Ele has roots, which DR and can be dispelled, and miss. As well as heroism, which is useless when you're stunned or silenced or interrupted. Or with push back from SS + bladestorm. On and on i can go.@@NibbaiWotlk
In fact is it meme'd that they are carried by gear, often that is what gibs a warrior out is the lack of gear. Once they start getting gear relevant to the phase, they will do more and more damage that has nothing to do with actual skill. You need to do more thorough research on classes.@@NibbaiWotlk
Great vid, but i am a bit confused on your DK logic.
-Both UH and Blood are easily able to be kited for some casters.
-If you were making a blood dueling spec, you would undoubtedly take Lichborne, for the CC counters and the self healingg from death coils.
-Blood doesnt have AMZ, but they still have AMS. And they have a fuck-ton of self healing that makes up for no AMZ.
-I agree, preg beats blood almost always, but other than that, blood usually beats all other melee classes - even unholy dks. And it doesnt take much skill to do so. Blood beats hunters pretty easy too. Demo is a joke, arcane a joke, hell there's probably only 4 or 5 casters that are a problem for blood... and unholy struggles against those classes too 1v1.

Well, u just said Blood dk will go for lichborne. If u go for licborne u lose Unholy tree which gives u locked Diseses. So you lose to Preg 100%. Every mage will beat blood dk. No gargoyle no AMZ, thats not 2 spells, thats 2 HUGE SPELLS. One that give u 20k dmg(gargoyle) other that give u 20k shield lol and time to reset your cds to grip,ams.. gargoyle just make huge difference. When u summ gargoyle on a mage,lock,priest the pressure is much much worse. U cant properly counter Gargoyle if u silence him u lose your CD which is bad against dk and on top of that your enemy have much more things to worry about when he is summoned.Also Coils and Diseases are stronger on Unholy dk that adds another point on pressure and dmg without being close to target. Blood dk is only good if he stands on target. Lichborne wont help u. Simple iceblock and repolly will counter that

idk why it's so hard for some commenters to understand. if you don't go to sleep, as a healer, you can regen enough mana and heal enough to never die to anyone--you will win most wars of attrition. ESPECIALLY if they don't have anti-heal. 5 specs have anti-heal, 1/5 is anti-hots only, 2/5 of those are 20% healing reductions (not enough), 3/5 of them are conventionally dispellable, and that leaves us with Aimed Shot and Mortal Strike. 2 specs than can on paper theoretically solo healers better than others, Arms and MM. I must sound like I've never killed a healer, I have and sometiems I am a healer. It's just that the whole topic requires it's own video. They aren't 1v1 specs because, in general, people agree that they are too good or too bad depending on matchup. And too boring otherwise. We make our own metas, and I won't duel a healer unless it's for a laugh or to test damage and macros.
I agree this list was made from difficulty standpoint, but viability and difficulty are crossed too much together that it doesn't provide sufficinet information to new players. Really no offence, but BG footage are not the best for this 1v1 type of content. I see that your video choices were from your experiences, but kind of random. It makes more sense to rate specs on how good are their 1v1 capabilites. But that is just my 2 cents - don't hate me pls, you make great videos overall. ;)

But listen me, there is already 1v1 dueling tier list made by Apex guy and on other side i had some comments like " Hey mate what would be EASY 1v1 specs in game". And then i came to idea ehy wouldnt i make difficulty tier list for 1v1? Skill and power are crossed a lot and i mentioned that but ita not true that there is no room to make such a video. Whats misleading there? Its very clear that frost mage is for example HARD and POWERFUL. That DK IS EASY and POWERFUL in 1v1. Also BG footage is nothing more than random pvp going in background because its not important at all. Imagine if i had a cam i would just put list in front of me and talk for 35mins stre8. @@NibbaiWotlk Hey, fair point, I'll try to reevaluate mine. I can see you've tried to be as objective as possible (although I like to pick my fights even in LoS conditions, more realistic than theoretic environment - personal preference) and you've also tried to fill a niche. I don't see a problem though doing your own 1v1 tier list considering *all* aspects of dueling, including difficulty, I think it would be more coherent and I'd gladly watch it from you. ;)
1) I understand the point about UDK vs Frost Mage, it's those less viable PvP specs that are put into Hard categories (namely Crog, BDK), when they should be in "Not really viable" or "Far too many counters" like you've put Fury - which was a good call imo. Also I would improve on Healer category, although they are not dueling specs I saw people 1v1 with them successfully and some are easier than others. So maybe a little more clarification on that.
2) I value if the footage relates to the content being discussed. It's not some noise to me. But I understand picking on it wasn't that mandatory, I apologise, take it only as a suggestion.
It's only the list without the viability and some other factors feels a little incomplete or inaccurate. Changes I'd do are just personal, I overall trust and agree with your experience and rankings of the viable specs in the final form of the list.

@@flpsnk4848 The thing about Healers not being a dueling spec, is that no one wants to 1v1 a healer. You could make an argument that all healers are actually the best dueling spec--as if they're properly geared, good players, and manage their cooldowns, they're not dying to any class without Aim Shot/Mortal Strike/Wound Poison--if at all, and certainly not before one of the players falls asleep. Hybrid healing specs with personally tailored skill distributions on the other hand are FANTASTIC dueling specs, look at preg paladins and disc priests. Druids all go subspec resto in Wotlk. You can as a Shaman but that needs more testing. Most Shamans, including myself, are unwilling to give up 3/3 for 6% damage reduction, 100% bonus magic crit dmg, or -1s off interrupts to test it much.

It's funny that you say "healers are not 1vs1 specs" when Shockadin will dumpster just about all classes when played well and Disc with end game resilience is a nightmare to deal with and can be played very aggressively
They are NOT DUELING SPECS. Not because they are weak but because its idiotic to put them in dueling specs. I just cant explain how much i hate when people come and say "ITS FUNNY HOW YOU SAY".. whats funny there? Go and play healaer on 1v1 events, i think you wouldnt be able to do so, am i right?

They range from shockingly easy battles to wars of attrition that would please only a masochist. It doesn't even feel fun to kill a disc priest after a 20 minute duel if they played properly. @@NibbaiWotlk Having played both actively, the difference between them is huge. The amount of buttons and stances a Feral needs to play with just to be on par is not in comparison with an Elemental shaman. Either Feral should be harder up the tier, or shaman lower. But thats my opinion.

Great Tier List but I disagree with warlock affli placement, it's definitely lower than you placed. Destro can easily deal with the same opponents as affli performs well but destro can also deal with other specs easier than affli that seems nearly impossible to affli. Affli is Medium spec to me without LOS.
DKs can be beaten with destro - affli have 0% chance of winning,
Rogues are easier to defeat being destro due to stun and high burst and better seduction,
FrostMages are also easier to kill with destro, nether protection is huge in this duel, mage can steal it but it will proc again.
Affliction depends on shadow magic, if your magic of school is locked then you cant do much and destro is not that limited cuz you are using 2 schools of magic. The affliction spec is definitely not difficult to play but it requires something different than destro, destro is about burst, huge pressure, easier CC. I would say that affliction would shine with LOS, on open field affliction is so-so, it has a lot of good matchups, but a lot of matchups that are unplayable, like DKs. No matter what you do you will lose against many specs on the open field.
I think that the only class that is way more effortless to affli is paladin, paladins can not beat affliction for sure, under no circumstances.

Warlocks has 0 chance to beat a Frost mage. If u are destro lock then forget about beating mages cuz it's one sided. 100 duels and you lose 100 of them. That's how impossible it is

Sure, starting out these classes are. Easy to play but if you want to play good, the skillcap is insanely high.
Shaodw prist doesnt have insane skilp cap im fucking 200% sure. Dk also. Its DUELING list not arena. Dks in arenas can have trillion of binds for each target and use cds properly. In 1v1 situations just learn when to use cds properly and thats it all from skill u need to have

A good shadow priest, ele shaman for example is a straight counter to dks. Why? Cuz they can cast dmg spells, and if u try to interrupt them they can then spam healing spells and there nothing you can do. Plus u dont have healing de buffs.
A good Frost mage is very hard to beat aswell, unless you cheese him.
Full armor pen combat rogue is a counter too.
The Kings of 1v1 are retri pala nr1, and shadow priest nr2. And if you have Los, these 2 classes are impossible to beat, without Los you have a chance.

As an Enhancement Shaman main, nothing drives me crazier than the fact that you listed Re Paladins as being a harder spec to duel with than Enhancement xD. I know this is for Warmane, but holy fuck try Wotlk Classic ever since they gave Rets the new Hand of Reckoning Glyph and made Crusader Strike and Divine Storm stack Seal of Corruption. 2 extra melee swings worth of seal procs and dots, and another damaging spell every 15 seconds. They're still manageable sometimes, but you literally can't let them touch you. Before I could at least purge HoF before getting blown the fuck up, now there's not enough time.
Again like everyone who tried to comment something against the vid - you did not get the cirteria for the video... its not just about how HARD spec is itself but how HARD IS to kill certain enemies and i gave cirteria im using for vid. Paladins cant literally kill almost no one in open field which sets them high, unlike Enhancement who are no doubt harder spec to play than paladin by mile but in reallity you can beat majority of casters reletively easy with much much less effort. Where enha becomes much harder is highest tier in pvp which is MINORITY in any game
