    Hello Dodger,
    You also showed that the little versys is a very capable machine.
    About the tires,
    I use one mine the( Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR) they are very good on the road and good on the dirt,they are rated as a 50/50 tire.
    Keep making good videos.

    Nice video, Dodger. That rubbish dumping is shameful.
    What tires did you replace them with? Do you still have your X300?
    I've watched X300 videos with Shinko 244 F+R that was excellent on mud and gravel. Also the 804/805 combo.
    Cheers from Indiana. 🙂👍👍

    I've been smashing my 2021 versys offroad for the last year or so, on stock tyres. Sure it gets a bit slippery, but ive been bloody impressed for what it is.
    Looking forward to getting a tkc80 up front and whatever cheap 50/50ish tyre i can find for the back.

    I would go mitas e07 or eo7+. . Grt allrounder tyre, hard wearing and still good on the blacktop. Tractionator good in the dirt but too rough and chunky on the bitumen.

    I can so identify with you. Not just in age!! I've also ended up in tight spots where I either couldnt or didn't want to a steep climb or muddy ramp.Since January I've gone from NC750X to Tenere 660 and now got the Honda 250 Rally , with knobblies . The more I do the tracks the more I ask myself why I want to put myself at risk in my mid 50s. Guess I just wanted to do a different type of biking. I've got my eye on the Versys 300, as I want a light bike that I can pick up that is better to tour on than the Rally. Look forward to hearing your views. You definitely need more off road focussed tyres. I live near Barcelona in Spain BTW.

    Hey Dodger, thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. As regarding the tyres, in our Versys-X club, Metzeler Tourance is a very popular tyre model. It has great performance on both offroad and asphalt. Some prefer Continental TCK80 though. Can you explain why replacing the front sprocket only? I know that either they tend to replace both, or none.

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  3 года назад +2

      I’m going on a recommendation, On the open road the bike cruisers about 100km per hour @ 7-8k rpm, hoping by changing the front sprocket it reduces the rpm at high way speeds, plus stretch out 1st gear. Will see when I drop it in for service.

      Ray here, from the wilderness near Durango, Colorado. I've been running E07+ on my X300 for nearly two years now. I highly recommend them for a 50/50 tire. I live 5 miles from pavement in any direction - gravel roads are fairly well maintained. But I also ride remote US Forest Service roads, some fairly good, some pretty rough. On one particular hill the E07+ tires really surprised me - steep, fairly loose dirt/rock mix for 200 yards, but the X300 and E07+ tires went right up it. I just kept the bike going about 5-7 mph and no problem. The tire also performs well on pavement. Very, very slight buzz when brand new, but not much at all. You might also look a the new Dunlop TrailMax Mission. The US Company "Chaparral Motorsports" has posted RUclips vids on 50/50 tires and also a separate one on the TrailMax Mission tire - they love if for all-round 50/50 use. HAPPY RIDING!!! - Ray, in southwest Colorado.
