    My 3rd year in with my X-300 and every time I ride it puts a smile on my face. I’m 53, it was my first bike and it’s just fun to do everything with. Light-weight with just enough power to learn it, push it hard and grow skills quickly on or off road and keep on enjoying it. I’ll probably never get rid of it unless they make the 500 and Id trade up. It’s just too much fun, useful and easy to handle.

    I have one of these, I love it. Just put ear plugs in and give it good flogging. Easily keeps up with all the other bigger bikes on club rides. Funny thing is I have 6 other bikes, right up to a GL1800, but if I’m looking for fun I take the Versys.

      It's a small bike, what do you expect. I've don't 50,000ks on mine, (which I've had for 5years) and love every minute I'm riding her. I also ride two-up with my wife, and it's more than capable coping with two people. I ride it both on and off-road, and have taken it to places it probably wasn't designed to go. And it's never let me down.

    I bought an X300 brand new in 2018. I've thought about selling it every year since, but then I make the mistake of riding it... Btw if you'd like to take the rpm's down just a little at higher speeds check out the front sprocket mod.

    Had my Versey x300 for about 2 months and just passed the breaking point and had the first oil change. I have to say this little bike is a gem, took it off road up in the Sierra foothills, my brother on a Husquavarna 701, was surprised how well my little Kawa did. Fun bike, and so versatile, stock tires handled okay, but with some 50/50 it would hamdle way better.

      I run shinko big blocks, 804-805, they hold up well and take me far and wide on state/secondary-service roads thru creeks and mud just fine and are still okay on pavement/blacktop....

    The riding position of the 300X reminds me a lot of that of Yamaha's FJRs which is a mile eating wizard. Perhaps you need to wear a heavier boot to avoid the buzz which I don't find to be a problem.

    I have owned two KLR 650s in the past. I do currently own two KLX 300s. I believe the Versys X300 is much more offroad capable than the KLR. I do sometimes wish I had the spare money to buy and mod one.

    Great vid! For riding those type of dirt roads, how would rate it vs the Honda scl500 scrambler? Both twins, bit more power on the Honda?

    • @ridingwithmarshall
      @ridingwithmarshall  7 месяцев назад

      Well, it's two different bikes. The Versus feels lower, but you have to wring it out to get anywhere quick. The Scrambler won't be wrung out in the same way. The Versys will be comfortable on longer rides.

    Its so hilarious how guys like this make fun of 300,cc bike ? I've owned many motorcycles over 40 years from 50cc to 750s,to,919 hornet and Harley Milwaukee eights and the most fun I ever had on a bike was my 80's ct110. Smaller cc bikes can be a blast ! I Put 1000s of miles on that CT exploring trails and nothing I've owned since compared to the joy of that,basic mule of a bike

    • @ridingwithmarshall
      @ridingwithmarshall  7 месяцев назад +1

      I switched to an Insta360 Ace Pro. You can quick charge it, you can read files right from the unit, you can see your sound level on the screen, and it doesn't easily flip to photo mode when you really wanted video. Hasn't locked up yet. I just put the fuzzies on it yesterday to stop the wind noise for future videos.

    • @ridingwithmarshall

      You still need a Purple Panda mic and the adapter it comes with to talk to the mic adapter for the Ace Pro (sold separately but not as stupid expensive as the GoPro adapter).
