Glad to see this 12 years blind Peter. I have had 5 out of the 6 minus the Glenlivet Illicit dram. I have said it to others that Tobermory 12 has been a very surprising bottle for me in 2023 so much so that I got myself a backup bottle of it. Bunna 12 is always a great dram. I would rank them as Tobermory, Glenallachie, Bunna, Deanston, Aultmore, Illicit. They all are great to have on your shelf for different times and mood.

I think I have 4 more flights left in this series. 2 bourbon and 2 scotch and then it's on to the finals. It's been fun so far and very difficult to pick some of the winning bottles.

Bourbon cask matured scotch is a good start. Unpeated with light fruit flavors and aromas. Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is also a very good starting point. It will be in an upcoming video.

I do like the drama of the blends. I wish for you they were all bangers, but c'est la vie. Unfortunately, there's no drama if they all succeed or fail.
One could mix the blend and add it to the blind? That could be fun.

Back in the day I drank scotch. Mccallen shery, Glenfiddich, Highland Park and Cragganmore were my favorite 12 year old scotches. I probably haven't had a scotch in three or five years. Pretty much when bourbon took over my bar.

After trying scotch after scotch over a wide range of prices / proofs / ages / regions I've come down to three favorites:
    1 - Springbank
    2 - Highland Park

With these three in my collection I never seem to desire others, leaving me more money for bourbons & ryes.
