Great review, Alan! That Springbank 12 is one of my all-time favorites and I’m definitely going to have to try to Kilkerran 12 if I can find it... I have the Kilkerran 2017 cask strength eight year and it is quite good
Great review! I have the GlenD, Bunna 12 and the Kilkerran 12 all fabulous!!!!!! Springbank is so hard to find here in the States and I still can’t find the Glenallachie 12! May pick up the 10 batch 1 but it is $80! That’s the only thing holding me back.
Great list. My favorite 12 yr old bounces between Bunna 12 and Kilkerran 12 depending on the day. I love the Springbank 15 so as soon as I see that CS 12 I'll be grabbing it.
A great high five of 12 year-old whiskies. I would pick the Kilkerran 12 as my favourite too, with the Bunnahabhain second, then GlenDronach. Great video mate. Cheers.

Very nice Alan! I’ve got 2 of your 12s. Bunna and Kilkerran and both are awesome. I’d love the Springbank but that’s rare in Canada. I’m a Glendronach fan but I haven’t tried the 12 and I’d like to try the GlenAllachie 12 also. Excellent choices all around. Great video too.

I've had 4 of the 5 only one I haven't had is the 12yr Bunnahabhain. Total agreed with the one you have chosen Kilkerran 12yr old i always have one as a back up

Love the Kilkerran 12! I have a bottle of the 8 year old sherry cask matured and I'm scared to open it because I'll probably never find another here in Boston, MA. Even though it's only 40%, the Aberlour 12 is always solid, if a bit tame.

Oh, Alan, this was a great review! First, I was shocked that your short list was almost exactly the same as mine. I actually struggled to not include Yellow Spot and Redbreast which is a delightful 12 yo, too. But, I can't disagree if you limit it to Scotch. My final three... a perfect match to your final 3. I would have put the Bunna 12 in second place-- I do love that one. I'm not as much of a sherry fan as you are so that explains that. But, my #1-- Kilkerran 12! I was shocked that you and I were so aligned. The proof is in how many bottles you have bought and that makes Kilkerran my true "best friend" as well. Thanks for the fun review.

Oh that's a hard one. Glendronach 12 for me is a great bottle, something i keep coming back to again and again. Bunna 12, GA 12 etc all great and all a bit different as you mention, depending on how you feel and what you are looking for at that point . I also just opened a recent Tamdhu 12 at the weekend, early neck pours really lovely also, so really keen to see how that develops. Tough choice, so nice to have all....

That is a solid, high quality list Alan. I am not sure about pushing Bunna out but I've never tried GD12 so can't argue:) Can't go wrong with any of these really as they offer a lot.

Great video, Alan. Haven't had Springbank 12 yet. Got a bottle of Kilkerran 12 but haven't opened it yet. Off the remaining three for me Bunnahabhain wins hands down. But I like Edradour 12 Caledonia even better 😀

@@thewhiskyfriend Well, I have just one bottle of Kilkerran 12 and it is very hard to get where I live. I have a rule to maintain not more than 6 opened bottles so I plan to open it whenever I feel ready for it. Getting a backup bottle will help a great deal😀
You are the sole reason I finally bought a Kilkerran 12 after I heard you raving about it in a previous video. Can't believe I waited so long. So good. Kinda like a smokier Classic Laddie, which is one of my most favorite daily drams.
All good choices in this video. That Springbank 12 CS...so good too! So many great scotches to choose from.

1). Red Breast 12yo Cask Strength (I know, Irish, but still my all time favourite 12yo)
2). Aberlour 12 Year Old Double Cask
3). The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood
4). Deanston 12yo

Great review buddy. Massive Bunna 12 fan, but not tried either the Glendronach or Kilkerran so I cannot agree or disagree, but great video anyway

Had all 5 and the standout for me is the Springbank 12 at 57.1%, absolutely fantastic. Found it last summer at a shop in Hunt Valley Maryland for $112 US, which I thought was a bit steep but in hindsight I should have bought them out.

Springbank 12 CS would be amazing if you could get the bloody stuff. I have an open bottle from a couple years ago and I'm rationing it until I can get a couple more.

If I had too choose a 12 yr old then its got to be bunha 12, such a great whisky. Haven't had SB 12 so cant say but the others are just so good at 12 yrs old and all are good value. Enjoyed the review Alan, cheers.

deanston 12, bunna 12, mac 12 sherry, kilkerran 12, glenallachie 12, old pulteney 12 for non cask strength. lagavulin 12, redbreast 12 and springbank 12 for cask strength off the top of my head for what I have had in the last few years.

Lose the Kilkerran and Bunnahabhain for me, not a huge fan of the latter, and never tried the 12 year Kilkerran!
From what I have in stock now, I'd choose Glendronach 12, Springbank 12, Caol Ila 12, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, the older bottling was 12, and the Glenallachie 12. Great list though, Alan, enjoyed it!

I've got the new GlenAllachie 12 and it is majorly darker in color. I have not opened it. The price in the U.S. has gone way up. it was 40 something and now 60-ish . Kilkerran has shot up in price the last few months as well. Springbank 12 was $100 and now it's $120.
