I have an uncle who has been scammed for over £7500 recently, so excuse me for being rather pissed off that you feel sorry for these scammers. My uncle is 86 years old and that £7500 was 'all' of his savings, Since he had savings above £6000 he was unable to get full benefits from our pathetic local and central government. How about, in future consider the little man who has worked his entire life, rather than yourself.
If your bank can, setup a virtual card and keep the minimum amount in it! If there are any scams that come to light and the bank finds out, if they are any good, they will delete the card. There are some good banks! Get out of the bad ones! Just ask NigelFarage.

It's odd but they always disconnect the call at this point!
I had some asian guy ring up and said he was from BT and there was a 'Wirus' in my modem. I really gave him the runaround. In the end I asked him if his mother was proud of him. So much fun.

Life has been fairly good to me in Australia and I had considered buying a place in the UK, but, following a number of UK RUclipsrs I think I would be insane to leave WA and relocate back to the UK. It only has 150K Km so only a third of it’s life span. It would be silly and wasteful to trade it in for something new that’s tracking me, controls my speed and sells my data.
Looks like RUclips just support thumbnails where people look like they have something inserted in their chocolate starfish without consent and titles that include catchy phrases that has nothing to do with the video. Everyone seems to be doing it, called ‘riding the RUclips algorithm’. Shmee, Hard up garage, Tavarish and Mat Armstrong are the best examples. I like their content but the thumbnails almost make me not watch their videos.

Geoff Here is something that makes no sense Re ULEZ I've just replaced my 2009 Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDi with a 2006 Renault Kangoo 1.6 Petrol because the Kangoo is ULEZ compliant and the Berlingo is not. HOWEVER the road tax for the ULEZ compliant Kangoo is double that of the none compliant Berlingo ....... Yes people I am aware of their emission levels
Vehicle excise duty, or road tax, is based on CO2 emissions. ULEZ is based on different emissions, NOx and PM (particulate matter). So ULEZ and road tax have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I agree it’s a silly system, I used to have 2013 BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics which was £30 per year tax, highly economical and not ULEZ exempt. So I upgraded a couple of years ago to a 2015 BMW 335d, which is £250ish a year to tax but completely ULEZ exempt as it meets Euro 6 particulate emissions standards. Despite using way more fuel.

I had a LandRover and became concerned about it being stolen. So instead of parking it overnight on my drive, I purchased an inflatable rubber replica and put that on my drive. It has not yet been stolen but even if it was it only cost £100 so its not big deal

Geoff, Another RUclips channel (gabby cabby) also noticed something was not right with viewing figures a couple weeks ago. Recent video had 3.5K views in 21 hours, which was way down on average. He tried TikTok as an experiment and had 180k views for the same video over the same time period.
There's a video called , " you tube bots hilariously deny shadow banning " by pocket of the future. Result has been good for him though , alot of comments saying they hadn't seen his channel for ages .

Hi Geoff. To be able to leave my local supermarket in Spain one has to place the receipt over an electronic reader for the barrier to open hence the parking is free to customers. I would be more than happy to carry out the same procedure to open the supermarket exit door when leaving the shop. Now I’m no genius but maybe just maybe this simple technology could prevent the thousands of lovely people who would rather not pay for supermarket goods and simply leave without paying. Bless em! The baby and mother in this incident were assaulted, and it's resulted in social care assessment, which meant the mother, I believe, was not adequately opting to safeguard her child over the abusive person whoever it was so SS have no option.

I enjoy your videos, Geoff. I’m not in the UK, but what happens in your neck of the woods reflects what’s happening in the rest of Europe. Your videos makes one think. I’m with you that I don’t like the fast-paced snappy trivial videos. So, please keep going. I also drive a 2007 Volvo C30 2.4i that I want to keep driving for many years. It only has 150K Km so only a third of it’s life span. It would be silly and wasteful to trade it in for something new that’s tracking me, controls my speed and sells my data.

Looks like RUclips just support thumbnails where people look like they have something inserted in their chocolate starfish without consent and titles that include catchy phrases that has nothing to do with the video. Everyone seems to be doing it, called ‘riding the RUclips algorithm’. Shmee, Hard up garage, Tavarish and Mat Armstrong are the best examples. I like their content but the thumbnails almost make me not watch their videos.
I’ve had so many people contact offer to design thumbnails - I hate it - I’ll do my thing. There’s no thumbnail on this video cos it’s uploaded from my phone 😂

Geoff Here is something that makes no sense Re ULEZ I've just replaced my 2009 Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDi with a 2006 Renault Kangoo 1.6 Petrol because the Kangoo is ULEZ compliant and the Berlingo is not. HOWEVER the road tax for the ULEZ compliant Kangoo is double that of the none compliant Berlingo ....... Yes people I am aware of their emission levels

Vehicle excise duty, or road tax, is based on CO2 emissions.
ULEZ is based on different emissions, NOx and PM (particulate matter).
So ULEZ and road tax have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
I agree it’s a silly system, I used to have 2013 BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics which was £30 per year tax, highly economical and not ULEZ exempt.
So I upgraded a couple of years ago to a 2015 BMW 335d, which is £250ish a year to tax but completely ULEZ exempt as it meets Euro 6 particulate emissions standards. Despite using way more fuel.

CPC sales to WAGS and influencers who have been influenced lol.

I had a LandRover and became concerned about it being stolen.
So instead of parking it overnight on my drive, I purchased an inflatable rubber replica and put that on my drive.
It has not yet been stolen but even if it was it only cost £100 so its not big deal
Cheaper insurance too, not tax or MOT, less rust. A win-win.
I do have motor insurance for it but only for fire and theft because I do take it on the road

Nice to see those lovely comfy Volvo leather seats Geoff. I have an S80 and theyre still great too. Too many modern cars are sporting 'vegan' leather. Lets call it plastic. At a time we should be using more natural materials in things. Getting hard to find new everyday cars with leather seats. Ah well, roll on old Volvos.

That scammer has personal responsibility and agency for what he does, Stealing by deception is morally wrong, and he's doing it by choice. My female cousin was internet scammed this week it made her feel sick and depressed. We are not responsible for bad actors like that, here or elsewhere, I find sympathy for them both misplaced and dangerous, think of of all the trusting non internet savvy elderly people they scam and will be scamming. Geoff, you really need to listen to the Radio 4 PM program that was broadcast yesterday, Thursday 18th July. At about 5.20pm they did a piece on the second-hand value of EVs. They reported that prices had fallen, which is apparently good, because poor people can now afford them. Not once was the fact that purchasers of new EVs face eye-watering depreciation of their vehicles mentioned!!

Geoff, Another RUclips channel (gabby cabby) also noticed something was not right with viewing figures a couple weeks ago. Recent video had 3.5K views in 21 hours, which was way down on average. He tried TikTok as an experiment and had 180k views for the same video over the same time period.
Sadly tiktok doesn’t pay. I’ll be dusting off my CV soon!
My theory is that people have largely stopped spending, so the ad revenue has fallen, so there is less money for creators now.
There's a video called , " you tube bots hilariously deny shadow banning " by pocket of the future. Result has been good for him though , alot of comments saying they hadn't seen his channel for ages .

Hi Geoff. To be able to leave my local supermarket in Spain one has to place the receipt over an electronic reader for the barrier to open hence the parking is free to customers. I would be more than happy to carry out the same procedure to open the supermarket exit door when leaving the shop. Now I’m no genius but maybe just maybe this simple technology could prevent the thousands of lovely people who would rather not pay for supermarket goods and simply leave without paying. Bless em! My daughter lived in Harehills, she knows a great many families that live there. Yes a lot of traditional Asian people and families. It's the newcomers that the govt have dumped there that are the cause. Those poor Asian families in the end had to go out and do the police forces job!!!!

Geoff, the wep onz thing occurred to me quite a while ago!
The classic car market has already started to decline. Possibly because people have seen in the last couple of years how over valued classic cars are and have been digging them out their sheds, there has never been a better time to sell.
They always rust, so they are less of an asset that people imagine unless you have a friend with a bodyshop. Then the miles they get used usually makes them a toy, and less people can afford toys these days.
