hey anna! hope this weekend is going well for you (although i guess it’s not quite a weekend since you’re working). just wanted to give a reminder to everybody that we should all vote in this midterm election!! lots of things depend on our votes, and we can’t rely on others to speak up for us. keep on keeping on, and have a great week!
What I like most about your video is that your sharing is so sincere. I am from Vietnam, and going to take a social learning course, your video really helps me a lot. Keep up the good work !
Thank you so much for sharing about your roles as a social worker and your job!!! And sharing about your life :) its like my self care to watch your videos and be inspired to social work and balance life
Did you need a master's degree for this job? What types of jobs could you get with just a BSW? Can you do a video on that? Did you use financial aid throughout or did you have to use a loan to get your master's?
hi! i’m super interested in doing mental health work with incarcerated youth and i’d super appreciate if you could make a video about how you got the job? what education, training, certification, etc. :)
hi! I've never made a dedicated video but have mentioned here and there some of my experience. I was hired by the place that I completed my MSW field placement at. so when I got the job, I had my MSW and that was it! It can vary state to state lots of times, but you've got this!!
Hi @Annabea! Enjoy your vids!! Did you worry about violent outbursts back then?Do you advocate for clients with the law? Charged questions but I fathom it's crossed your mind or you were faced with it. I study BSW in Chicago and am reading and learning more this junior year. 😊 Continued success
I didn't really worry about violent outbursts, but also I had a supportive role inside so was lucky enough to have pretty good relationships with the kids. It wouldn't be often that they would feel annoyed/mad at me since I wasn't having to tell them what to do or discipline or anything like that. It was outside my scope to advocate with the law -- my role was purposefully separated from all court proceedings so that the youth would feel more comfortable opening up in counseling sessions knowing that it wasn't going to work its way back to a judge. However, I would advocate on the inside to the extent that I could (in regards to behaviors & consequences or positive behavior rewards and that kind of thing)
Hi Mrs. Anna so question is being a social worker worth it? Because I’m deciding to go to college at GGC and just wanted to ask and do you as a social worker have time for yoursefl
Hi! The field is very diverse, so there are all different kinds of jobs you can choose depending on what you're looking for in a work/life balance. But it is definitely possible to have time for so many fun things outside of work!

Do you have any thoughts or know anyone who went with the Georgia State University MSW program?
I don't know anyone who did that program! Wish I had more insight for you

As in like working out for hours and having days or weeks with family and friends
