@@CN-hv1fx Hello! Glad you're considering the Master of Social Work program. The average salary for S.Workers in Australia is $70,000AUD. A masters degree could earn you higher than the average, but of course it depends on the area of practice you're considering. I hope you stick around for my Q&A video dropping soon where I will address other frequently asked questions. I appreciate you stopping by. Thanks
This was such an informative video, Chioma. I've definitely subscribed. I'm a final year social work student in SA, hoping to come over in the next 2/3 years. Can you do a video on the skills assessment that you are required to take?
Hello Aphe. Thanks for joining the family and sharing a bit of your plans. I am working on a series of videos addressing all things social work related in my experience since moving here; from education to practice (including migration too). I hope you find them useful. Thanks again🙏🏽
I’m Gideon Adahosa, from Nigeria I’m already in Australia for my Studies, I’m considering of changing my career to Social work. I don’t have basic knowledge about it but was asked to take a bridging course which I’m willing to do. Thank you for this wonderful information.

Hello ..... I just came across your channel and this video particularly... I'm currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in social work and i have wanted to work in Australia but not sure how to venture into it and what its going to be like .... Thank you for the informative video ....
Wow extremely educative and informative, thanks for the heads-up as regard the inherent skills required to be a successful social worker. YES, I want to study masters in social works in Australia, please I have 2 main questions : 1) As a fresh graduate(with no work experience) is it difficult to find a job in Australia. 2) Please how to navigate into becoming a health or mental social worker. I have subscribed and will be watching all your content, please keep up the good work. God bless you, Chioma
Thanks for the compliment Osazee. To address your questions, 1. Not sure if you meant, as a fresh Social Work graduate in Australia or just finding a job generally, but yes, you can get a job even though I can't speak to how long it might take. People's experiences are different. However, if you are flexible with your options, you stand a better chance at getting a foot in the door quicker. 2.For MH social work, you will need additional training and accreditation on top of your regular SW qualifications to practice. Thank you for subscribing too🙏🏽🙏🏽

Yay!!! Thank you for this video 🥰🥰🥰 Please, I did Education and bus admin in my first degree. It's a double honors program. Can I apply for MSW (qualifying)? The agents I've spoken to were telling me No. But I don't believe them cos Education is also Humanities and social science.
You're welcome Ekama. I don't see any reason to not be able to do the MSW (qualifying). I had classmates from diverse backgrounds - some from the pure sciences even. A compelling statement of purpose will certainly help your cause. Good luck!
Did you end up applying? I’m looking into it to. Although I studied linguistics for my First degree. I did take sociology and psychology as electives. Linguistics is also linked to science, I took main courses like sociolinguistics & psycholinguistics.
Hi ^_^ What time do social workers/ case workers start and finish? I see on the NSW for case workers having 35 hours full time which is 7 hours per day (Monday-Friday). Do you ever go over time? as a full time, would you say, you could study part time as well or the work load too much?
I am currently working a 35-hour week but my previous job was 40 hours a week, so it depends on the organisation. Working over time is also dependent on the organisation and they will certainly have policies guiding over time work. Yes, you can study part time if you are a permanent resident or citizen. You can't do that as an international student.
