“Reels are reels” lol not quite. Yes you can reel up a welding lead onto an air reel. But any time you wind or unwind them they have to be unhooked from your machine otherwise the end will twist a million times. Actual welding lead reels have bearings that conduct current thru them so they stay hooked to your machine all the time. You can pull out a little more lead or wind them up at any time without issue
The welding reels are super nice for sure and very convenient, but I don’t have that money to spend on them. The air reels work great and yes you need a separate jumper lead for them. Not a big deal but not as confident at a welding reel. These work great for me

@@hendersonequipment that going to be an awesome project, I sub'd so I don't miss it! The red truck in my profile pic I did something similar to. It was a 1999 F550 and I swapped in 2009 F550 front and rear axles so It was 4wd and had the Dana super 60 widetrack coil spring front end. It was quite a bit of work but it rode sooooo nice compared to the 99 suspension. What year is the frame/axles you picked up? Are the wheel bases the same between the two trucks so you can use your aluminum bed....or are you just swapping axles?
@frostydoesit I picked up 03 and I am just swapping axles. I haven’t done it before so any advice is appreciated but I’m hoping for as close as a fit as possible. We’ll see. I appreciate you subscribed 👍
