A shooter with a story, already more interesting then most of the shootemups ive played recently ;) The layout makes me think of an earlier game I did Phelios, but there not realted.
Interesting aspect of this game is that your moving along the ground (instead of a spaceship) where youre movement is limited by the landscape. The terain even has effects like sliding on ice, blown about in the wind.
The music in the game is really good, but unfortunatly the clipping in the weapon samples really spoil it. (Maybe an emulaton issue).
The game is played on Expert difficulty and having to look forwards and behind certainly adds to the challenge. Once the Ring of light is unlocked the bosses just crumble and dont put up too much of a fight.
I let the ending music run right to the end. -

a simple story game with awesome graphic, awesome soundtrack, awesome giant bossfight, and awesome firepower. this game is one of SEGA badass game, and one of my favourite game.
The ending song gives massive nostalgia. Makes me want to travel back in time.
I know just how you feel. I spent hours and hours playing this in 1991. Hearing the music at the end for the first time after completing the game was an amazing thrill.
The composers toshiharu Yamanishi is amazing

I love this game. Used to play it during my school days. Now at 46, I really miss playing this game though.....

You know you're going to have badass music when it's by "Technosoft".
Technosoft is also known for making the Thunder Force Series, Herzog Zwei, & Devil's Crush/Dragon's Fury.
Technosoft knew how to properly use the soundchip
@@RigbyIsTheMan One of the FEW that knew how to use the sound chip. While still not on par with the SNES when used correctly the Genesis could knock your socks off. Comix Zone, Sonic 3, Vectorman, and Contra HardCorps come to mind right away.

@@TKUltra971 Genesis destroys the snes in terms of fast beats and such, however in terms of synth sounds, orchestral hits, forget about it, snes wins in this.

@@Prizrak-hv6qk super metroid ambient droning fucking rocks man. Also, super castlevania 4 is a perfect soundtrack. Gradius 3 is really great...basically all the Konami stuff is solid, capcom's soundtracks consistency took a bit of a nosedive in the 16 bit era if you ask me. at least on the snes. I do like MM7 a lot though.

I'm 51 now and still like a couple of hours on the console when the kids aren't hogging it. But this game brings back so many memories. There should be a remake !

The fact that your character WALKS along the path, and does not fly somehow makes the scenery more tangible. I also liked the artwork and sfx. The story was on par with Zero Wing's, though :P
ahh, One of my old Megadrive collection favourites , good graphics , appealing art , good music ,balanced difficulty , not too much flaws to add exept the sounds effect. A pity that is so unknown.

The gauntlet at the end is pulse pounding but it feels really cool to see yourself mastering all the bosses in one final run. Honestly wish it was longer!

When I was a kid one of my friend came to my house to show me his awesome 🎮 and I remember I've begged him to let me borrow it but this asshole didn't want to. He let me play it for a couple minutes and then he left. Never see the light of this game since then. Glad you upload it

A Technosoft realmente dominava os chips Yamaha YM2612 e o Texas Instruments SN76489 do Mega Drive como ninguém. Desde seus primeiros lançamentos Thunde Force etc,,,e neste não foi diferente. Ela simplesmente fez o game e falou para o chip "Hoje eu vou lhe usar" kkkkkkkkkkkk obra-prima🥰
Cara esse é o jogo da minha infância 😪 que nostalgia, confesso que nunca passei da 5 fase kkkk, queria ter o prazer de poder jogar novamente 😭
took me a bit to beat this game back in my teens :D but the game as a whole was so kewl that i didnt care and kept trying till i mastered it :D

Best shooter on the genesis
Just played it and it was hard, especially the end boss which i couldn´t beat. don´t give up this game it requires a lot of practice and there is no cheats or game genie you just have to start the level all over until your continues finish, a must own better than pocky rocky for the snes a better mature theme for adult collectors and music!! 10 out of 10
Sincerelly i advice this game at everybody really it's a fucking game one of a best shoot m up of the genesis i find with aero blaster / musha alest and gleylancer

Aryaag/Roki looks like a combination of Loki and The Kurgan from "Highlander"
but in this version mobs arnen't as so thanky as the japanese version.
it need minimum 4 "ultralaser" for the dragon.
I had the japanese version growing up. I could never read what they were saying until now. This was awesome. And I still have Calling on the Dark Dragon King as my ringtone. Amazing music.
Anyone knows a very similar game on Mega Drive , probably an older release , which was an inspiration for Elemental Master ?

Hmmm.. maybe it's just me, but this as far as the gameplay experience goes, playing this is almost the exact same thing as playing a ranged class in Diablo.
Knighmare(1985) with Thunderforce 3(1990) feeling by technosoft?
Before Thunderforce 3 came up, Thunderforce 1 & 2 came up with.
They have accumulated a lot of skill to come up with such the masterpiece.
I think elemental master is a first shot.
So I think the quality is not as satisfying as thunderforce 3.

This game is very good but 2 big problems: you put yourself in the context of the time: a teenager or child buys this and 1. the game does not bring options (actually, but they are not in sight, they have a combination code) -.- ...... 2. It does not bring self-shot and at the time there were no controls with spam button to fix which forced the player to literally BURN his finger
I think these kinds of things are crappy and things made in videogames and more coming from technosoft that brought a good repercussion behind ...
